While my health and Galaxy S7 did not turn out so well in the end, the Initial D parody was made out of my love for the series, and to hopefully have other fans get a kick out of it. The only major things that were missing, was a AE86, and my own ability to actually drive a manual transmission, but that will have to be forgiven. In October 2017, I bought a 1990 Mazda Miata that is a stick, so I know now. I just hadn't driven a manual when making this video.
Special thanks to 101 Productions for the great camera work on the parody: / danielgonzproduction
Depending on who you ask, I pronounced some of the character and course names incorrectly, but that was due to grinding through 5 hour sessions of voice overs, and just wanting to move on.
What started as a clear-cut, approximately 20 minute episode, quickly turned into the longest Forgotten Games to date. It was just too shocking to ignore all of Mountain Vengeance's flaws. It has also been my most time consuming episode. I have faith that the 100+ hours that I have put into creating this, will pay off in one way or another. Several weeks worth of filming, scripting, properly recording Arcade Stages 1-3 on the real, NAOMI 2 hardware, and editing, oh man the editing.
The mild depression that I got after the passing of Steely Dan's Walter Becker didn't help. As such, the co-founder of my favorite band has been given a proper tribute in this video and will be forever remembered. If you watched the whole video, my sincere gratitude goes to you. Seriously, you are the reason why I put as much time as I do into making these videos.
After this, I would like to start making content that won't take months to finish. It's been so long since I've uploaded, that I didn't even know that end screens only work in the final 20 seconds of the video, hence why the "end screen" at 27:20 looks weird. Whether I start making full playthroughs of games that time has forgotten, commentaries, or just short skits, I haven't entirely decided. I do not have plans to cancel Forgotten Games soon, I just want to get other content gaming content out that fans can enjoy. Follow my Twitter for more details.
