I was born in the early 1950's long after the BIG BAND ERA had passed but my all time favorite song has always been "IN THE MOOD" ( 1939 ) by THE GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA !
Well, thankfully, we can still watch and listen to many of them on TH-cam! "Gone but not forgotten"! Both my husband and I love Big Band of the 1930s and 40s and all the greats back then even though we were both born in the late 1940s! ♥♥♥
How can Louis Jordan and the Tympany 5 not get included here? They had a total of 50 R&B hits in the 1940s, and he was rated by Billboard as the No. 5 R&B artist during the period 1942-88. Also not included was the Nat King Cole trio and Lionel Hampton. Overall, this is a shoddy piece of work.
Though before my time i must admit though a drummer musician of the Sixties ,the forties had really in the greatest musicians. Drummers Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Louis Bellson, Sonny Paine and other fantastic drummers. Singers and musicians were the Best!! Evangelist Roger Mansour former Leslie West Vagrants Drummer
I never heard of either the vents and I should check her Music out but I do love the international sweethearts of rhythm and I do love the Glenn Miller Orchestra it’s fantastic. Are the Benson made it possible for women musicians to swing and be great musicians.

This could have been a real good show if the narrator had shut-up. He is boring, more music less talk. The narrator should not have been so front and center. It is about the music!
Golden times and unforgettable gem stones.. Thank You. 💐

The Andrew Sisters were so popular that no other Big Bands would like to be on the same bill with them.
Good music will always last
I loved the Glen Miller Band. Got to see a tribute band in Washington DC playing Glen Miller's music. Such a good time.

In case you did not notice, The Ravens were, get ready, BLACK! OMG, black! And you go on about them being the first "bird" group? Weird.
Back when people actually played real instruments and weren’t referred to as “unplugged”.
Yada, yada, yada,,,the narrator's ego dominates the video and a smidgin of the performer's performances.
He talks too much and too loud. I couldn’t continue. The subject deserved better.
