The 50s and 60s that was when there was the Great Music of All ❤❤❤❤❤❤the old classics R&R and MoTown the music now UGH!!! Need to go back to the Good 👍 Stuff
That was my music in the 1950s much to the chagrin of some of my college colleagues! This was when Pat Boon tried to replace Little Richard and Fats Domino ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!!!!
The Isley Brothers have certainly NOT fallen off the radar! They continued to chart hit singles into the 1980s, and continue to get airplay on oldies radio stations to this very day! Some of their songs have been extensively used as TV commercial jingles. If that's "falling off the radar", then so have Elvis Presley, The Supremes and The Beatles.
The Isley Brothers that were alive and were still members of the group had hits into the1990`s and the early 2000`s.They had songs and videos titled Foot Steps In The Dark and Contiguous.
Rock Hall of Fame Grateful Dead leader Jerry Garcia often spoke of all the many musical groups who influenced him. He always made it clear that Hank Ballard was number one to him

You made a mistake. When you showed pictures of The Penguins, you mistakenly showed a picture of Little Anthony and the Imperials. Also, you forgot to mention that The Clovers had a hit with, "Love Potion #9.
Excellent history of Rock and Roll however Little Richard and the upsetters and the Reggae upsetters who backed up Early Bob Marley had nothing to do with one another. Evangelist Roger Mansour former manager of Junior Braitwaite from the original WAILERS
I've seen some of your other videos, and this is the very worst of the bunch! The Bunnies??? The group performing at 0:45 is Ray Anthony and his orchestra. The other footage supposedly of "The Bunnies" are various shots of acts appearing on variety TV shows in the '50s. You also have footage of The Temptations and Little Anthony & The Imperials that you try to pass off as The Penguins. What the hell! The Coasters tune you list as "Red Run Red" was actually entitled "Run, Red, Run". And just what do Flatt & Scruggs have to do with rock and roll music? I don't know where you got your info on Little Richard, but you conflated his backup group with a Jamaican reggae group that went by the same name. None of the songs you gave were Little Richard songs. His hits included "Long Tall Sally", "Good Golly Miss Molly" and "Tutti Frutti". This video is a goddamn mess, and that's the nicest thing I can say about it.
Who the hell are "The Bunnies?" I'm a human music encyclopedia, especially when it comes to '50s music. There was a song called "The Bunny Hop" by Ray Anthony & His Orchestra in 1953 (nothing special about it.) But no '50s group named The Bunnies. There is a '60s girl group called the Bunnies. I'm calling your bullshit!
I tried to find something on them, but the closest I got was a current all-female indie pop group that sounds a lot like a modern version of The Go-Go's.
First 10 15 seconds The platters and we hear them sing the great pretender Now 5 minutes into this video You keep showing all these great groups I remember and we don't hear them sing one single note I see with this videos going The narrator is going to talk and talk and talk and talk and talk too much you were me to death You talk too much you even worry my pet You talk talk talk you talk too much! I'm not going to watch 35 minutes so you showing pictures of these guys telling us how great they were and not here a single note guitar drums keyboard and most importantly they're fabulous harmonies so I'm tuning out ... BYE-BYE!!
I had to stop when you show the picture of the Temptations and called them the penguins…. Another thing I did not like about this error of music is that the white artist will cover the black artist material without compensating the black artist that does not make you great. It makes you cheap and petty a common thief…..
Sixty Minute Man" was banned by many radio stations and was seen as a novelty record at the time. However, in hindsight it was an important record in several respects: it crossed the boundaries between gospel singing and blues, its lyrics pushed the limits of what was deemed acceptable, and it appealed to many white as well as black listeners, peaking at number 17 on the pop chart. Cover versions were made by several white artists including Hardrock Gunter. Bill Haley & His Comets sang the song in the mid-1950s during their live shows. In later years, the Dominoes' record became a contender for the title of "the first rock and roll record".[2]
@jesusamaya8943 True. You said that you didn't think it had any gospel roots, I'm assuming that's because your only point of reference was Jerry Lee. I fully understand the conversation so far. Keep up.
Here’s another version of why, Hank Ballard and the Mid Nighters were banned. Dick Clark had a problem because the group ignored a Bandstand invitation. So, to punish the group. A despicably, petty Dick Clark, bestowed one of the most iconic, consequential songs, and dances of all time: “The Twist” upon a musically compromised, sellout named, Chubby Checker. Our children need to know truth and how powerful racism is! p.s. So, Frankie Limon alone, had a drug problem. In your entire parade of fifties music, and musician’s history. He alone, had that problem, and died of overdose? Really?
WTF IS GOIN' ON? YOU'RE TAWKIN' ABOUT THE PENGUINS & SHOWING PICTURES OF THE TEMPTATIONS, ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS & SOME OTHER GROUPS. WHICH PICTURE IS A PICTURE OD THE PENGUINS? Y'ALL GOTTA STOP W/THAT SLOPPY VISUAL EDITING? IS THAT VOICE WE'RE HEARING A REAL HUMAN VOICE OR SOME A.I. BS?
I still listen to all this music rock and roll will never die
The songs that will always be remembered when the new songs fade.
How can you ignore the fact that Jackie Wilson was a member of The Dominos?
Those are some of the greatest groups ever and Johnny Otis he was one of the greatest artist ever.
