All of the above mentioned are an issue at times. The memory fog throws you off quite often. Truth 🤷 👍 it's like being over tired and trying but it's a struggle. Truthful 💯 👍

Train of thought is a problem. Ex: watching a new TV series- I watch with my wife the 1st two or three episodes, she can help me set the context, make me remember like “He is the neighbor, good guy” etc. combination of memory and understanding situations. For me it takes 1st two or three episodes to be fully aware of plot, characters etc.
This sometimes makes me appear “not so bright” and foremost reason to quit job.
Environmental factors like heat/humidity also affect the clarity of happenings
Thanks a lot Dr, now I couldn’t recall the name of the 2nd year speech pathologist (have to rewatch the video) 😊

So much helpful information here. Thank you.
Here's a useful tip that I employ: Keep to a schedule, a routine as much as you can. When you have a weekly schedule of housework, bill payments, etc. , the other stuff in life is easier to handle because there's just less chaos. I even go as far as to schedule regular visits and phone calls with friends so we keep in touch.

Thank you for this video. It validated some of the strategies I implement already. Planners; personal and work. Thank God for smartphones. I create a list for shopping. Sometimes I have to write down my tasks for the day. Now, I just need patience with processing and anxiety. 😆

I set phone alarms for anything that is out of my routine. For example, go to this house or meeting instead of going to the office at 8am

Wow, this is really cool. Thanks so much. I've always prided myself in remembering things.. but I realise it's not because my memory is good but because I always have a list! Either on my phone with goodle keep (now keep notes) or things like excel sheets for more complicated things. My brain is superbly messed up.. so I'm more careful.. and i appear to have a good memory. But I'm terrible with names and faces 🙄

Likely extremely frustrated & not understanding why it’s actually happening. They can tell you whatever, but it’s mortifying, terrifying & I can guarantee he’s scared and trying to fight it; but it’s just not working. You feel like a failure & a total freak. (At least how I feel and how I’ve heard others describe it). You get ANGRY AF.

Great presentation. I had a very cognitively challenging career (public health analytics/epidemiology) and I REALLY wish someone (dr?, NMSS?, somebody…) would have sat me down early and said “you have a really challenging career and these things might show up to make that harder…”. Instead I was on my own and then when the job got harder and harder and I was struggling and my performance deteriorated I would have already prepared for the possibilities. Instead I went from being outstanding at what I did to barely being able to do any of it. My neuropsych eval found I was in 2nd. Percentile on some executive function and memory skills. Like so many things. It was assessed and “treated” after the damage to my career was done. Just wish it had been different. Thanks!

I need this like I need air. Outside of the not being able to regulate my temperature & then pouring sweat, when it’s cold out & im doing nothing - cognitive is my beast. I lose my things ALL DAY! I get pissed off about it. It’s soooo frustrating. I can’t remember things anymore. It’s BAD. I lost a few days of my life in 2021. I seriously am concerned I don’t have MS & it’s early dementia. I’m scared. What’s attention? 😂😂 I don’t have anything like that 😭

Another great video Dr. Boster. Good to see you again Carolyn from the other OSU (I'm in OK). I have a question for a future video. I read out loud to my wife. Morning news stories. But there are times that I read the words but say an incorrect/wrong word. Could you maybe explain that? Is that a cognition issue or speech?

I have AM and PM pill boxes and I’ve accidentally taking my AM meds at night and PM meds in the morning. I’ve been using the same system for over a decade. I know which is which. Not sure why I make these mistakes. AM pill box is clear and PM pill box is blue. I restock my pill boxes Tuesday mornings. Routine doesn’t always help me.

    Hello doctor,
I'm stuck with a hard decision that I can't find an answer.
I was diagnosed 7 months ago with Aggressive RRMS and I'm taking Rituximab.
Next month I'm going to travel to Germany where they have more medication for MS.
My next infusion is after 10 days and I don't know what to do.
Should I wait until I travel so the doctors can examine me and prescribe suitable medication for my condition (where I live we only have like 4 or 5 MS drugs), or I must take my next infusion before I travel?
Knowing that I want to take the HPV vaccine.
What should I do please help me.

DR. B recently read an article from the Mayo Clinic saying that your body can’t tell the difference between emotional trauma and physical trauma /stress and it can lead to auto immune diseases such as MS. If it’s prolonged What’s your take?

    • @lauriegray8781
      @lauriegray8781 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'm no Dr. Boster but my life has been a poop show with a fan prop. I've been racing at high stress since I left the womb. Around my 30s I found some peace and that didn't agree with me at all. Every time I relaxed I would become ill or depressed or paranoid or narcoleptic, etc. Now I know I wasn't crazy or haunted. I figure that my immune system has PTSD and it's just so used to maximum overload that it just can't punch out. It doesn't know how to hibernate. Lol. That makes sense to me.
