Could you please do How to Sing "Phantom of the Opera" song or maybe "Point of No Return?" My high school is doing Phantom this year and you are so helpful! 😊
She could make a video explaining how to sing The Phantom of the Opera, which is the hardest duet in this Musical. and in Christine's voice it's even harder because of the high E at the end of the song.
I am doing this song as a tribute to my father, with whom I was very close, on the 6th month anniversary of his death when we intern his ashes (he died during the winter so we couldn't do it then). I am a lyric soprano and feel more comfortable in the higher registers so this really helped. Thank you so much.
You were once my one companion You were all that mattered You were once a friend and father Then my world was shattered Wishing you were somehow here again Wishing you were somehow near Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed Somehow you would be here Wishing I could hear your voice again Knowing that I never would Dreaming me of you wont help me to do All that you dreamed I could Passing bells and sculpted angels Cold and momumental Seem for you the wrong companions You were warm and gentle *Instruments* Too many years fighting back tears Why cant the past just die Wishing you were somehow here again Knowing we must say goodbye Try to forgive Teach me to live Give me the strength to try No more memories No more silent tears No more gazing accross the wasted years Help me say goodbye Help me say goodbye
This video was so helpful! I just discovered your channel and subscribed. :) Since you are a trained opera singer I'd love to see some videos about how to sing some famous arias (e.g. O mio babbino caro). I want to practice those at home in addition to my singing lessons but I'm scared of doing something wrong with my technique.
Planning to do this song as a solo in my choir class! I’m an alto and I can’t really hit higher notes, but after watching this video I’m going to practice and hopefully try out for the solo position! Thank you!
I was having to sing this song for audition and it is very not much my voice type so this was loads of help! I felt hopeful but after watching this I feel much more better.
You are so adorable and you do a lot of great work. I consider your videos very helpful and even though I’m a professional singer I still learn plenty of nice tricks, especially from ‘how to sing that song’. Keep doing your job as it is great ☺️ love K.
She's probably going off the original version which didn't have that note. The last goodbye wasn't added until the movie I think but I'm not that sure.
Just repeat the last line in the original if you can't hit the last one they added later. It's just as moving. But it's the same principle, use your "e" as she did earlier in the lesson and fade it out slowly (I'm a trained opera singer as well).
💜AMAZING LESSON💜Thank you very much! 😘❤️ But dear Freya how i can learn playing piano like you? 😁 Or at least if there is some notes (pdf or so) for the song in your videos? 🙏
Dear Freya. I like your videos so much.! I am going to a interview of a NYU. I plan to sing this song, and I need to choose another along. Could you pls tell me another song has the similar level, but a bit different type. Because this two songs need to be contrast. Thank you so much!!
I have wanted to try singing opera for long time now and this video was helpful. Especially I did not want to tear up my throat trying on my own. For me, low notes I can sort of do but when I try to do high notes I sound like a dead chicken. Ha ha!
Hello, Freya! I have a question for you. First of all I have to say that I'm not a professional singer, obviously with no musical training. Is it ok, at first to try to adapt somehow the song to my own vocal skills? I love singing at home, just for myself and "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" has a special meaning for me these days, six months ago I lost my father and I'm kind of singing it to relieve my grief. I love singing and I want to improve my vocal skills, but I can't sing in such a light way as you described it. Thank you for your time! Anyway, your video is very interesting and helpful. Thanks a lot!
Wait....? What about the last note at the end? The high one? Like they do it on stage ??? On Broadway and West End? I want to be able to hit that note and i dont know how to do it. And also the high E at the title song is very difficult to reach.
@@arcticwolf8371 that is an F ?? So an F is lower than an E then. Because many Christines have said that the highest note in POTO id the E in the title song so if i can reach that then everything is below it. I still cant reach high notes. Im not even a mezzo yet
@@NOONE-cd4gu I know this was a month ago, but this might still be helpful. F is actually higher than E, though only by a note. The E in the title song is the E in the 6th octave. The F in the song is in the fifth octave, and is indeed hit multiple times in this song. It sounds higher than it actually is because when you hit it at the end you're actually jumping up an octave. You just have to practice it a lot to get it down.
this song makes me cry and its bause my mom died she past away but I love my new mom her name is landy haze and I love !y sister Megan. and my boyfremd Matt hr his mine Cindy nice try. I love u u are !y fremd I am still made at u for hugng my boyfremd !y boyfremd to not like u
A tip I was taught for doing musicals:
They're singing because they're so overwhelmed with emotion that words themselves can't express how they feel
what a good way to think of it!! thank you for sharing!
Ty!

Freya Casey Thank you, it really did! You've just got another subscriber!
I’m soprano! Lol
Loved it! Please, make more of Phantom Of The Opera and Love Never Dies! ❤
You were once my one companion
You were all that mattered
You were once a friend and father
Then my world was shattered
Wishing you were somehow here again
Wishing you were somehow near
Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed
Somehow you would be here
Wishing I could hear your voice again
Knowing that I never would
Dreaming me of you wont help me to do
All that you dreamed I could
Passing bells and sculpted angels
Cold and momumental
Seem for you the wrong companions
You were warm and gentle
*Instruments*
Too many years fighting back tears
Why cant the past just die
Wishing you were somehow here again
Knowing we must say goodbye
Try to forgive
Teach me to live
Give me the strength to try
No more memories
No more silent tears
No more gazing accross the wasted years
Help me say goodbye
Help me say goodbye
s.y. mitchell thank you so much
Thank you.
Thank you 💜
Your voice reminds me a lot of Emmy's!
I hate to correct you because you did so well, but it isn't teach me to love, its teach me to live.

it’s “teach me to live”, not love. everything else is flawless!
Could you do the title song from Phantom, please? I've been wanting to learn how to do that for a long time, and your content is so helpful.
Oh my god now the "a" sounds so obvious. Im good with notes, diction is my problem. THANK YOU
Arianna Sardo haha, I’m the opposite, diction I’m good with, but notes r my problem lol

Não gravi essa canção no star maker . Porque não tem , mas canto divinamente no meu tom de barítono #carlinhoscolumbia

siena shawver Yeah, I thought so to.

How do I subscribe to your channel? Your teaching is awesome. Thank you!
I loved your version more than the original singer..
How lol

NO ONE that note is an F I believe, which appears many times in this song. If you can sing the rest, you can definitely hit it.
@@arcticwolf8371 that is an F ?? So an F is lower than an E then. Because many Christines have said that the highest note in POTO id the E in the title song so if i can reach that then everything is below it.
