    The Tahoe is proof that GM knows how to play in certain segments and dominate. For the life of me, I will never understand the bewildering decision Toyota made in the Sequoia redesign, having had since 2008 to bring its A-game. The interior being smaller than the Grand Highlander(even behind the 3rd row) is really egregious. Sure, the powertrain is robust but with questionable reliability from the 3.4L V6(even 24s are still having issues). On the Sequoia Platinum that I tested, I was shocked by the lack of precision in body control, structure shock when hitting a bump, and poor ride quality(by comparison to the GMs and Wagoneer).
    Skip the 24s on the GM, and save $5K because it also forces air suspension which explains the elevated price. You'd also pick up even better ride quality. Also skip the rear screens and save another $2K and it comes under the price of the Toyota.

      @G-Rated 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      If you know anything about the high end suspension system in the *gm* triplets you’d know the 24-inch wheels aren’t negatively affecting ride quality. Most *gm* customers aren’t the “cheap crowd”, that’s usually where the Japanese scores most of their sells back when they were much cheaper. Chevrolet and GMC customers _want_ the ride quality and experiences of a luxury SUV, the reliability of a Tahoe, without the extra goodies or price of the Escalade.

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@socaljarhead7670 true but *gm’s* air suspension is beefy and has been pretty reliable since the launch of this generation of SUVs. GMC has experience with heavy duty air suspension systems like for their Hummer twins and perhaps that’s the reason the airbags are lasting as long in these ICE SUVs without many problems.

    The Tahoe is cute for large families. We got the 2024 Sequoia TRD PRO just me the wife and 2 small kids. Anything bigger sure grab a Tahoe or suburban. That being said the power and drive of the sequoia are beast!, it’s something about the system that just makes it a joy ride more so. We are close to 20k and she has been a beast with Zero issues. The gas mileage is not bad but I guess that’s been a complaint and the cargo area has a shelve so it does flatten out just fine, I’ve filled the back with tons of 5 gallon jugs with no issue. Get what suits you, we love our Sequoia TRD.

    The Sequoia 3rd row seats don't fold flat.
    I have no idea what they are thinking at Toyota. It is not 1996 anymore. How could you even think about offering a 3 row with 3rd row seats that don't fold flat.
    Spend the money and change your suspension.
    Besides rental car companies, I have no idea who would buy that vehicle.
    As far as I am concerned, that is a negative 10 points.

    This generation of sequoia is very nice, BUT chevy, GMC, Cadillac and Ford are the only brands that can nail this segment perfectly. The toyota is definitely not meant for people who have more than 3 kids. Cargo space with all 3 rows up is practically unusable, the 3rd row itself isn’t suitable for taller kids or teenagers. It’s really meant for people who don’t use the 3rd row often and that’s where Toyota missed the opportunity for this new generation. My aunt has a capstone. It’s only her and my other aunt that use it and they travel often so usually it’s 4 people on 1 trip so the 3rd row is down all the time. It’s good in that regard. Feature wise, these 2 are very similar so it’s not like you’re missing out on good things in both of them. Though it is nice to have tv screens or sunshades in the back seats.
    I do also agree with you guys with ride quality. The sequoia definitely feels a little rougher over certain bumps, it’s not bad per say but you can definitely feel the intrusion and we took a suburban on an 8 hr road trip to South Carolina and that was more comfortable. However, the Toyota feels more powerful in which it is. Kind of scary to feel a vehicle is that size move that quick 😂. Other than that, the Tahoe has it be in the most major parts of the vehicle. Families buy these types of vehicles for long distance road trips to haul luggage, kids and groceries and that’s where Toyota missed it. That has to be rectified for the next generation.

    Full size SUV - Chevy GM.
    Full size trucks - Ford.
    Reliable cars - Toyota.

    Seriously both of these suv don't warrant 90k price . As long consumers keep paying high prices auto makers will raise prices and still blaming covid for high prices. Both these suv should be fully loaded 65k period.

    Chevy Tahoe I like the Toyota sequoia but no it don't have the third row does not go flat it has heated and ventilated seats in the second row but the third row doesn't go flat and it don't have Google built-in or it doesn't have rare entertainment screens like old sequoia dead so my choice I would have pick in the Chevrolet Tahoe stick with that traditional V8

      In the latest JD Power rankings, Chevy actually ranks better than Toyota in quality. GMs were junk in the early 2000's, but they came a long way since then.

    Why in the heck would bigger wheels score a point?? 24in wheels means the tires are EXPENSIVE. Especially since they are unique to this brand. You car reviewers never seem to think of the things that come with long term ownership. I guess you figure if you can afford one of these behemoths then you can afford the tires.

      Yep, most people with brains figured if you can afford a $80,000 premium SUV you can afford the $4,000 upgraded premium wheels and tires that it rides on too, but just a thought. 😂

      GM is moving to the electronic column shifter across their entire lineup. The trucks will likely switch to it when they get redesigned.
