    Great video! I have all of the "minor" Traxxion Dynamics upgrades you mentioned plus some. Can't afford the suspension upgrade yet, but the “little” improvements they've come up with are outstanding.
    Agree with the HomeLink convenience, but as you said, the install is an ENORMOUS pain for what should be a standard accessory. Sticking with the remote in the glove box for now.
    Keep up the videos and reviews. You are a great asset to the Gold Wing community!

    And yet another great video Chris and thank you for the comments on the seat upgrade I now will be pulling the trigger on that upgrade, installed the break and headlight modulators and was so impressed with my abilities on the install lol ended up doing a temp taped install of the light sensor at the head of the consul looks good there, just wasn’t interested in drilling a hole into the bike yikes to do a permanent install of it. Other than the seat I think the below the trunk rack lights might be next
    Thanks again

    Great summary video. I didn't know about the frunk lock replacement. That looks much better than stock. Mine works but periodically sticks. Supposedly the 2020 was to have a lock with a better action. I thought I might try to get it replaced under warranty... But now I think I'll just go with the aftermarket.

    Thanks for your accessories review. I have added a ton of stuff myself, Goldstrike Trunk / Brake light, AddOn DRL / front sequential turn signals, Muth mirrors, Show Chrome Fog Lights (got to be a Honda copy), TwinArt Vent Lights, Show Chrome Fork and Saddle Bag Lights, and the Kuryakyn Omni Rear saddle bag lights. Everything except the fog lights is going through the Show Chrome Isolation Fuse block, distributed by the Electrical Connections Lighting Distribution Block. I replaced my Kisan Trail Blazer(s) with the Show Chrome Brake Flasher, it seems to work better, a buddy noticed I had a wig-wag pattern that I don't get with the Show Chrome unit.

    Great review and thanks for sharing. I look forward to your upcoming review on the mystery seat. Seat comfort is a big priority for me and I really doubt a factory seat modification is the answer for me, someone must sell a 18+ GW seat that I can be comfortable in for 3+ consecutive hours and compatible with factory seat heat controls(?). Any suggestions?

    Another nicely done video...a bit surprised you didn't mention your Rivco hitch and a trailer wiring relay...one of the first items to be installed on a new wing for those of us that pull a trailer. About the Wingsoft...I couldn't ride on the OEM seat for more than 70 miles before pain would set in and I wanted to park the bike...and even getting off the bike for a break, I just couldn't recover and be comfortable...nothing helped, not seat beads or the 80 dollars sheep skin I bought.I could never had went on a 10 day ride with the OEM seat, the seat would had killed the fun. I had the Wingsoft seat done and the seat is a hundred times better for me. Ive been on 10 day rides with some 650 mile days and have ridden in comfort with the Wingsoft seat.

    There is another accessory from Honda that seems crucial and that is the 12VDC, 10 amp accessory plug. This accessory allows you to power an air compressor after you have plugged that flat tire or charge additional electronic devices if the USB port is already used. It too is a pain to install although I did see a TH-cam video that had a short cut other than the Honda recommended installation procedure. Wouldn't go on a trip without it. Thank you for the reviews.

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also run an SAE connector from your battery through the side cover to power a compressor, or any 12v device as well as support your battery tender.

    Thanks for another great video Cruiseman. Have you looked at the AmpLink power module to compare it to the Pathfinder fuse block isolator? Max at Traxxion Dynamics seems to think it is the best he has ever seen and way better than the Pathfinder isolator because it is water proof and very simply programmed. He has a vid out on it. It has no fuses...all electronic. Expensive though, about $250.00.

    On the Traxxion Kickstand pad: I rate this product a 3 out of 5 for the initial package. There are no instructions included in the package despite the attachment being pretty simple. However there are two sets of set screws, one longer than the other set. The long set is too short for this product. You will run the longest screw almost through the pad before even coming into contact with the kickstand base. Either the Traxxion product video or instructions yet to be provided needs to instruct you to apply Threadlock or Loctite when inserting the screws. I used the screws provided and tightened down as hard as I could . With less than 50 miles, I looked down in a parking lot and noticed that one screw had backed out almost all the way from the pad. I removed the pad with out taking any screws out and saw that the other screw had backed out and was missing. I had to go to a hardware store to find screws that fit the pad for replacement. I applied Loctite to the screw hole in the pad and once the screws were started, I applied more Loctite to the screw threads before screwing them the rest of the way in. I then had to "cut" the rest of the screw extending outside of the pad. After I let the Loctite harden, I finished a 50 mile commute today and all is well.

    I’ve been a little hesitant to add lights to my 2018 DCT tour. Mostly because I’m concerned I might screw up the cam busses. Even now I have a set of hyper lights stashed away because of that. How many mAmps can you add before it becomes a problem? In particular, I wanted to add the hyper lights in parallel to my rear turn signals. But I consider lights to be a safety item, so would love to add a lot more.

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is why the Show Chrome Isolator Fuse Block is so popular. You can add lights and accessories without having to worry about messing up the CANBUS. amzn.to/2WxGdwH

    Totally agree about light modulators . Dr Harry Hurt was one of my professors at USC and his Hurt reported stated " Conspicuity of the motorcycle is a critical factor in the multiple vehicle accidents, and accident involvement is significantly reduced by the use of motorcycle headlamps-on In daylight and the wearing of high visibility yellow, orange or bright red jackets." Modulators were not conceived of back then but, he always talked about the importance of being seen. Conspicuity, Conspicuity, Conspicuity!

      @LukeCausley 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@James-cn9no I have a 2018 DCT and love it. I actually don't miss shifting and see it as a new freedom to just "be" on the bike. There is joy in my heart every time I am on out for a cruise.

    @Cruiseman, I’m struggling b/t selecting the 2021 Goldwing Tour vs 2021 BMW R1250 RT. Any thoughts?

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I may not be qualified to answer your question since I have not ridden the RT. I hear great things about the bike. Typically, Honda's advantages are lower cost of maintenance, large dealer network (in case you are touring cross-country) and of course, reliability. I am sure there advantages that BMW owners could tell you about that brand as well. It probably comes down to you test riding both bikes and going with the one that fits your riding style best.

    • @dbriggs1213
      @dbriggs1213 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cruisemansgarage I’ve ridden the RT - love it! But it seems I can get the sportiness of the RT mixed with the Bagger style of the Harley, plus the reliability of the Honda brand, plus, as you stated, low cost maintenance all in the Goldwing. Last question: What about the Side Saddlebags? Is the fact they are a bit on the small capacity side an issue for longer rides, or do you not really notice the difference? Thanks for the reply... it means a lot. I watch a lot of your videos!

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dbriggs1213 If you are referring to the bagger model Goldwing, then yes, the saddlebags are pretty limited for storage. The Harley and RT have larger saddlebags. But, don't discount the sportiness of the new Goldwing. In Sport mode it is quite a beast, and handles great. For touring, you will probably want a seat bag.

      Donnie, I came from new BMW K1600 GA, My cheap input, go with the GW. I had too many issues for a bike with only 12K on it. They are fun machines and the RT sells very well, however they are very complex machines and too sensitive to over heating or cold starts, for example. Very costly to repair. The main clock on them is by time or miles, you cant go around it. I sold mine and got the 21 GW DCT Tour. Just magical machine.
