    Wishing I had found your excellent vid earlier, just replaced both of my air springs yesterday, guess I didn’t try hard enough to remove those “hats” on top of the OEM’s…….that would have made my job to fit them in the top much easier to center them, yet I did read many posts on forums AND TH-cam vids on the stand none did I discover those tops were removable!!

    According to the Arnott instructions, you're not suppose to remove the compression fittings! Just push in the air line until seated. Pull on it to verify

      @user-zr2yg5pm2q ปีที่แล้ว

      I did the same repair a month ago and they even send an instruction page that shows you that detail with photos. Sorry to say that seal is probably gonna leak on day 1. I wanna see a followup.

    • @farrakhkhawaja4812
      @farrakhkhawaja4812 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right about Arnott giving that specific instruction to not remove the fitting and we're supposed to push the air line in. But, the problem is that the line comes right out when you tug on it slightly after pushing it in all the way. I'm going through the same problem with my f85 air springs. After an hour of trying to get the air line to seat properly and not pull out, I've opened the fitting and did the same process the guy in the vid did. Hopefully I don't have any leak issues! 🙏🙏

    • @user-zr2yg5pm2q
      @user-zr2yg5pm2q ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not sure why that happened, worked well for me. Pushed it far enough that when i tugged on it slightly it was still inside and fully seated. You can obviously pull in out with enough force but the key is only to tug enough to know its fully in, not to test that it wont come out. Im guessing theres some kind of internal seal system that make it air tight from inside. kinda like the copper O-ring that comes off with the stock line. I think those fully engage when the system fully pressurizes.

      @@user-zr2yg5pm2q I also attached the air fitting on two pillows using the push to connect fitting and no problem. Arnott also recommends you do not put the cover on the new pillow (note it does not come with a cover).

    hello,
    can someone tell me what is the correct, factory height of the vehicle on the rear axle, I now have 19 zoll rims and when I measure with a meter from the bottom of the rim to the top of the bumper, I have 705mm, is that ok??

    Hi Thanks for your Video, i have mine to do but have a question if anyone can help.
    If you remove the fuse guessing that kills power to pump? Can you not drill the old Air Bag to deflate as this is no longer any good, this would then save you remove panels to reveal compressor.
    Is this acceptable? Look forward to all suggestions.Thanks in Advance.

    • @SheziMotorsport
      @SheziMotorsport  ปีที่แล้ว

      @graemewatts9090 - bc if you pooyr a hole in the airbag and if any door gets open and car isn't fully asleep it will kick on the compressor so better to take the fuse to be safe

    • @SheziMotorsport
      @SheziMotorsport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @prasannabandara7104 - it all depends how much the air compressor was working all that time, I would worry for the air compressor to go out. I would recommend changing as soon as you have time to preserve the air compressor for the long term.

    Do not lower vehicle with under inflated air springs. Deflate and inflate with vehicle raised.
    Remove compressor fuse, use a scan tool or crack lines at valve block/compressor to deflate air pressure.
    Remove tire. Remove air spring. Replace fittings or be very cautious to reuse because brass is soft metal. Tighten fittings. (Side note, compress the air spring by hand and use soapy water to check for leaks at fittings, air spring clamps or bag itself.) Install air springs, route air lines properly and install compressor fuse. Place tires on. Let vehicle inflate air springs while elevated. Air springs can damage if set on ground under inflated. There are pressure sensors to prevent blow outs btw. Set the vehicle back on ground and enter ride height for adjustment or each side may be higher than other side.

    • @davidjoegamez5901
      @davidjoegamez5901 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cycle key on when compressor fuse is installed and tires as well to allow air suspension module to inflate before placing vehicle on ground.

    • @davidjoegamez5901
      @davidjoegamez5901 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ride height adjustment is at bottom of rim to bottom of fender depending on model. Some are center of rim cap to bottom of fender.

      You need new air boots installed. Get the Arnott, don't buy the genuine BMW. Arnott boots are considered an upgrade as it exceeds OE quality and comes with lifetime warranty. Arnott uses Continental Contitech rubbers. These Conti rubber materials are extremely high endurance, it is used on Continental tires and are far superior than what BMW uses.

      Great. Thanks for reply. I wanted to confirm. So did you actually have to unscrew the fitting from the new bag to install it on the air line or would it be just okay to push it in and be done? The set I got says do not remove the connection.
      arnottinfo.com/manuals/A-2642.pdf

    • @SheziMotorsport
      @SheziMotorsport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      T Ventz - correct new bag has it on and you remove it from there and attach it to hose and fit it there and tighten the screw. But that fitting be very carefully not to bend to much or it will break and you will be out of luck. If your old one is intact keep it as a backup when you replace them.
      That's odd bc then how would you fit it on there, I would imagine higher chance of breakage.
