Thank you for being sensible and awake. I appreciate you and your content.
You should know though that in Asia, if you are a white person, if you're blonde, if you are very tall, if there is anything about you that is unique and really stands out, strangers will absolutely come up to you and ask to take pictures with you. It's because most of them have never seen someone that doesn't look like them. I am an Italian Canadian and back in my late 20's I went to teach English in China. It didn't matter if I was walking down the street, shopping in a supermarket (they loved to look directly into my kart to see what items I had picked) or especially out at any tourist location, I would be stopped and asked to take pictures with them. I always met these moments with humor and a big smile which is the best way to go about it. You deff start to feel like kind of a celebrity and it's all because you look different and they've never experienced that.

I've seen a rise in Japanese nationalism in the more rural areas in response to westerners who are - no joke - actively trying to subvert Japanese culture. It's ironic that many on the left have become actual colonizers by forcing their "agendas" onto other nations, meanwhile conservatives in the west have a adopted the "leave them alone" stance.

Admittedly, four year olds have a minimal sense of shame just because they have not yet developed intellectually or emotionally to where they are capable of self-examination and self-realization. That is why they require parents to help shape their development and to provide those concepts to help them grow, and parents achieve that by being the children's main focus and the people that the children want to please. These stunted growth narcissists have found other people to focus on, and it has completely ruined their development. The more extreme elements of narcissistic social media, such as TT, are culpable in this.
Though, on the other hand, it does make it much easier for the Chinese to subtly control and overthrow western progress.

If I remember right, thing about the baby in the airplane one is that the baby isn't making noise (or at least wasn’t). It's just him.
He just SAW that someone had a baby and is freaking out at them bringing one on a plane AT ALL. In turn it made the baby cry.
However, if I’m wrong, that means there’s another grown ass man throwing a fit at a baby.
If it’s a toddler or just young kid, I understand being upset at that moreso because that means the parents aren’t parenting and just ignoring the kid. There’s absolutely nothing you can do about babies, so to see grown adults like this AT ALL is embarrassing.

I'm by no means an expert but I think so. It's not like you can explain to a small child or an infant how to pop their ears to relieve that pressure either. On top of that, I think it's in general a very uncomfortable experience with turbulence and g-forces that they probably pick up on a lot more than your average adult does. Same thing with animals. They don't know or understand what's going on, only that they're uncomfortable and want to get out of that uncomfortable situation so they demonstrate this in the only way they know how; by screaming and crying.

It can be due to the pressure changes in the cabin. Babies have smaller eustachian tubes. The eustachian tube evens out pressure. The baby could be scared, disoriented, they aren’t in their normal surroundings or they feel confined. Sometimes giving the baby a pacifier can help and so can bringing some favourite toys.

Nope. Never ok for an adult to behave like that on a plane. Expecting babies and infants to behave better than an adult does, is asinine. Children have every right to travel on airplanes as much as an adult. If an adult cant manage their emotions, but expect a child to, that right there shows how moronic that level of selfishness is. Adults can plan better. As you said, bring noise cancelling headphones or fly first class. Airplanes are PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. You are basically riding the bus, in the sky. You dont get to complain about taking public transportation and complaining when the public is there. Bitching about kids on planes is one of my biggest pet peeeves. Children are not second class citizens or Sub humans, stop treating them as such and expecting a world where they don't exist or experience emotions. Esp when we've all had worse experiences with fully grown adults than we have children. They are our MOST VULNERABLE demographic, do better!

I also think it's important to note that small children don't understand flying the same way that we do so for them it's an incredibly uncomfortable or even painful experience that they don't know how to deal with at such a young age. Just take popping your ears, for example, try explaining that to an infant.
I took a flight a couple of years ago where I was seated right behind a crying toddler. The child cried and screamed bloody murder the entire 4-hour flight and I think all of us wanted to tear our hair out and start screaming along with it after a while. It's no fun, for sure, but it's likely even worse for the child and they can't help it. You can't expect a small child to act like an adult - especially not when we (as clearly demonstrated by this video) have actual adults who can't act like adults either..

4:35 I played Halo as a teenager and I think that's the theme song so Idk why he picked *that* of all things to try to impress her with. That's just vocalizing "ohh" and "ahh"s tbh if he was REALLY serious about it, he'd have picked a real song. Anyone who doesn't know this is video game music probably hears this and thinks "oh my god he's fucking insane" probably lmao

I used to be one of those teenage boys in middle/high school you described Ms. Petrov. But I grew out of it towards the end of high school. These creatures never did and social media has only assisted their madness by amplifying their reach to a global scale.

As a mother the man ch I ld screaming about the baby crying is making things so much worse. I was on a red eye back from Hawaii once and my 2 year old screamed her head off the last 30 minutes of the flight because of the cabin air pressure was hurting her ears. There was nothing I could do but comfort her. Let me tell you I was bawling and felt awful in that situation. No one complained, air attendants were amazing and tried their best to help me and my daughter. But let me tell you if I did have that man child on my flight I would lose it

sure the man overreacted but maybe don't bring a baby on a night flight. Hell I'd avoid flying with the baby at all, but when you do, not in a night flight. Have some of the compassion for others that you expect them to have for you.

Noise cancelling headphones will not block a crying baby. I've got one of the highest quality brands and it won't even block my husbands voice when he starts talking. They're explicitly designed to allow certain noises through like voices or sirens, and there is no setting to block them out. It's to prevent the company from being sued if someone gets killed wearing them due to inattentiveness.
As for his freakout, I have an issue where noises of a very specific frequency feel like I'm being stabbed in my ears (I've been stabbed in the neck before so I'm not exaggerating.) It's excruciatingly painful and I don't know why it happens. If that baby's cries were somehow hitting that frequency I could completely empathize with that man.

Yes! He even said he was wearing headphones and could still hear the baby.
I wish we had more context because we just see him cussing out the flight crew, we don't know what they said to him before the recording. They should be talking to the family of the baby and seeing what could be done. It is entirely unfair for one group on a plane to highjack the silence.

My younger brother (who has Asperger’s) used to make these random loud noises in public for no reason. It was humiliating to say the least. To the point that I would tell our Mom “Can we just leave him here?” whenever he would do that. People used to stare at us with looks ranging from pity to outright disgust.
Fortunately, when we got him a good behavioral therapist, he nipped that behavior right in the bud.
I’m really grateful now that he’s a good man with a solid head on his shoulders and not growing up today. He probably would’ve kept doing it for the attention he was getting.

I bought noise-cancelling headphones around seven years ago, primarily because of the noise from children on public transport and have been using them regularly ever since. They've definitely improved my experience, but so far, no headphones I am aware of manage to completely block out the sound of crying babies. Perhaps one day technology will catch up to that need 😅
However, just wanted to say: I really enjoy your content! 👌
