Hi Misha! I've been watching a lot of your videos since seeing your "Why I Left the Left" one long ago. I really enjoy listening to you! I also find you quite funny since your sense of humor is similar to mine. Have a great day and take care!
In today's Western societies, many people are moving away from religious beliefs, preferring a more secular view. At the same time, advancements in technology are making life more comfortable than ever. Despite this progress, some in the younger generation seem unappreciative. Instead of recognizing the convenience of modern life compared to kings from two centuries ago, they engage in excessive behavior and moral decline, as seen in platforms like OnlyFans. It's a shaming and frightening situation in our evolving society.
For many of us religious beliefs are what gave us our morals and those beliefs that are passed on is what gave us our generational and traditional morals.
@kayelynnphelps8676 specifically Christianity is the solution to this. If you'd ever research on how bad the ancient world was before Christianity spread, you'd understand this. In fact if you were a Christian who has The Holy Spirit. Then you'd understand this.
@@kayelynnphelps8676 and if one wants to get rid of religion as a whole then you end up with places like Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, China under Mao, Rome under Nero.
I said it to myself and I will say it to everyone else: Dont record in the gym and only wear appropriate clothes to the gym instead of just underwear or any degree of topless.
The best part about the girl mad about the guy "looking at an underaged 21 year old" is that that girl is literally a sex worker...She's on only fans. I hate all this stuff. As a woman who's gotten out of shape and overweight, I'm scared to go to the gym because I don't want to end up in someone's tiktok/OF and be made fun of.
I’ve been going to the gym for almost 10 years, and it is so not difficult to not be an asshole. I think if you’re working out alone and want to film to form check yourself, go ahead and make sure the people around you are okay with it. Otherwise, it takes 0 effort to have basic awareness that you are in a public space. You can mind your business and be considerate, they are not mutually exclusive.
I look at people in the gym all the time. Maybe I think I recognize them, maybe they’re doing an exercise differently from how I do it, maybe they’re doing an exercise I don’t know about, maybe they’re just lifting an incredible amount of weight, or maybe I’m just looking around being aware of my surroundings. People think they’re the main character nowadays.
I believe in freedom. Freedom to record, freedom to look, freedom to speak, freedom to do whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm anyone. Respect other people's freedom: If you feel you have a right to record then others have a right to look (record with their eyes)
Im a woman that is a powerlifter, I spend A LOT of time working out. I always wear sweatpants, leggings, or normal basketball shorts and a tank top... Idk why they wear those tiny little underwear-like shorts. i dont mind when the cute guy at the gym hits on me but thats because i have a home gym and the only guy there is my husband lmaooo
It's unfortunate but I think that these are examples of bad apples that spoil the rest. Public gyms can be a space where egos come out to play. Keep up the good work Misha.
I love the one at 14:30 ish because she’s ranting and raving to herself and then she’s surprised someone is looking at her, and thinking “maybe she needs help”.
What's really unfortunate is that for serious lifters, filming themselves can be crucial to critique their form and technique. But now all these wannabe influencers have given filming yourself in the gym a bad rap.
It’s really annoying, because “cringe” is real the only word that truly describes that feeling. But now it feels asinine using it, because it’s used so frequently and inappropriately.
Did they happen to explain to the blind man how he should avoid "staring" at someone when he has no way of knowing when to avert his gaze because he can't see? I need to know how their brains work. 🤔
PS once while travelling we were standing in a random place (near a point of interest but to the side of it, most tourists took photos from the other side where you could actually see properly) and having a chat and another person came up to us and told us to move because they wanted to take a picture of that exact spot. I hate that. Not once during our travels did we ask another person to move because we wanted to take a photo. We're out in public, other people might end up on our photos and that is life. You do not get to dictate where people stand or walk because you want to pretend you were the only people there. And no they were not already trying to take a photo when we stopped there.
What's strange is that these "influencers" (if you can even call them that) are fine with people online watching their bodies, but not when an innocent person looks over to see that they are recording?!?!? Where's the logic in that?!?
At a gym on a military post, there are strict dress codes and an understood etiquette to wipe down equipment, return weights, etc. and an actual policy to not film yourself or other people.
When someone is doing something whacky at the gym, I usually observe them doing something whacky at the gym because they are at the gym doing something whacky.... which warrants observation.
My husband just had to do a sexual harassment training for work in which they said when someone complains because of how they felt, their feelings basically supersede any truth or investigation into the matter. This perfectly illustrates how wrong this type of policy is. I agree he should take it to court and change it!
Some gyms should put in the contract something like what ski lift tickets say “if you agree to pay or ride on this ski lift, you assume all risks.. this ski resort is not responsible…”. Some gyms should do the same by putting in the contract and a sign at the entrance “ if you agree to be in this gym and workout in this gym, you assume all people will stare at you. This gym will not prohibit staring…”😂
I feel like people also feel free to record everyone nowadays, even family channels, featuring embarrassing moments/showing their child’s face online (digital footprint). I also saw these gym girls recording this guy and laughing and pointing at him for no reason. I hate when people say “don’t record me” and get labelled as a Karen when they just don’t want their face on the internet for 1000s upon 1000s to gawk at.
I will tell you, as an older guy, a lot of mental energy goes into trying not to make women think you’re looking at them. When you finish a set, you have to wait. If you’re not looking at your phone, you might look around. It’s innocent but then it’s like “oh Sh!t I looked at that girl and she saw me! Look away! Not too fast or she’ll think she caught you!”
More irritating than that is female, success, and lifestyle coaches who want to charge thousands of dollars a month for a 30 minute call every week so they can advise you on how to be more successful in your career Despite the fact, they’ve never had any career themselves beyond. May be a simple service level job. Nothing wrong with that however, it does not exactly qualify them to be Tony Robbins.
I use my schools gym, and rarely go to my neighborhood gym. But, I 100% agree with Misha that exercise outside is much better, and people are a-lot friendlier 😊
Gender Segregated Gyms. I wish. Many years ago I was talking with a feminist friend. She was happy that the last men's only gym was just shut down for gender discrimination reasons. I pointed out that she went to a women's only gym. The conversation went like this: Women need a place to work out without being stared at by men. What if men want a place to work out without being stared at by women? Men might discuss business there and exclude women. What if women discuss business at their gym? Women need a place to work out without being stared at by men. etc.
The idea of gender separate gyms is ridiculous. Men only gym sounds gay as hell. Us men don’t mind being stared at by women. This stuff is almost nonexistent irl. Don’t be fooled by the internet algos.
I don’t want you to look at me, but also I’m gonna post my almost naked self at really specific angles on social media. My eyes are hurting for rolling so much
In my gym, I never see anyone being like this - thank goodness! Everyone just minds their own business! I have seen half naked people - but they are mostly wanting to look at their form in the mirror! We also have a female only gym which I absolutely love ❤️
I live in a state where taking video of someone without their permission is illegal. So fortunately, I've never seen any of these influencers when I work out. I will also say the people who go to the gym most often are the nicest at helping you out and offering encouragement.
I worked at an all women’s gym. It was awesome! Also, no one dressed inappropriately there, not because of a dress code but because most women have common sense and we were all there just to get healthy and encourage one another.
I've never understood gyms. One can do exactly the same exercises at home. The idea of exercising in the presence of dozens of strangers is uncomfortable.
@@noahbrock349 I much prefer at home. I have some weights and a treadmill, although I don't have access to as many weights as I would in a gym, but I don't have to pay for a membership and I can watch/listen to TH-cam videos while I exercise on the small TV I have in my exercise room. I wonder if gyms should not allow people to record as its private property or have some kind of rule that if you do record you must sign an agreement that you will not post anything publicly that denigrates any fellow gym goers? For the handful of videos on my channel that I posted of some class museum trips, for example, I asked if I could post them on TH-cam for the students who couldn't attend the field trip and I only posted footage that I thought presented the locations in a positive light.
We have a women's only room at my gym and I only work out in there as I rarely go out to the normal floor. It just feels better private. There are also signs in the locker room that say, "of course you're beautiful but, no recording."
@@simpdefendmlady6579 It's not discrimination?? Some women feel comfortable only working out around women and for some cultures women aren't allowed to be around men like that. It's considerate that some companies make a section for only women. Men never care if there's women in their area
@@strawberryynoodlesauceDon't know about others, but I am tired of women who explain my own feelings and make assumptions about me just based on my gender, instead of asking me, like any curious and well intentioned human being would. I wonder how many systems had to fail in order to get to a point where you think you know more about 4 billion people than they do about themselves.
I’ve worked out at home for my entire life and continued to in my small apartment don’t understand why ppl need a gym to exercise u can literally work out using anything
Misha, there was a company that tried separate gyms for men and women but the women found a way to complain about the change. If you look it up it’s hysterical how they complained. Mental gymnastics.
This is toxic feminism. When women feel uncomfortable at the gym because guys glance at them for two seconds and then they turn around and post videos of half naked guys at the gym working out which makes the guys feel uncomfortable yet no one else sees a problem with it.
I recently got back to the gym and it’s frustrating looking for form videos that aren’t disguised thirst traps. Not only that, but when I workout, I don’t want to be in a random person’s video that will probably end up somewhere online. I’m at the gym to be sweaty and momentarily unattractive, of course I want my privacy. 😅
Recording yourself is a valuable tool for practicing form. As such, banning all who record themselves is not really a good idea, and should be treated on a case by case basis
People had good form before smart phones were a common possession… some gyms have mirrors for free weight users.. Getting permission from the gym owner seems fair, but what if an only fans girl wants to ‘practice form’ ?
@@johneeeemarry34 Most gyms have mirrors and this is mostly all you need. But recording is still a valuable tool, and if allowed, there will be bad actors. As body building and training is a body centered activity its great bait for thirst trappers, and that sucks. There are always bad actors, and I'd hope managers could tell when recording is just being used to make "content" and when its used for practical application in ones' lifting journey. But I've been disappointed by people regarding this kinda stuff before. I'm inclined to be against banning recording in gyms as a whole, but maybe its worth a shot to increase the comfort level of gyms?
Everything you said is perfect, the only note I like to add is that's really cultural, in some countries that is not only normal, but the woman would feel bad if no man look at her, perhaps some woman just want to complain when it's recorded, but she probably love when it's not.
I still think the one with the OF chick was uncalled for. She was stretching out her hips and was dressed modestly but was still harassed by this random guy, who then kicked her property.
Just ban cameras in the gym altogether. I've heard some do and that indeed it is illegal in the locker rooms, but if no one actually checks the locker rooms periodically to make sure no one's filming, they're not gonna get caught and if they do, insta-perma-ban.

Hi Misha! I've been watching a lot of your videos since seeing your "Why I Left the Left" one long ago. I really enjoy listening to you! I also find you quite funny since your sense of humor is similar to mine. Have a great day and take care!
Thank you!!:)
Religious beliefs are not the solution to this. They aren't the solution to many things, actually.
For many of us religious beliefs are what gave us our morals and those beliefs that are passed on is what gave us our generational and traditional morals.
The new religion is sex.
You are just saying normal things about an insane world....love it. Your great!
You produce some of the most consistently enjoyable commentary in a light-hearted fun way. Thank you so much for your efforts!
Thank you so much!
I said it to myself and I will say it to everyone else:
Dont record in the gym and only wear appropriate clothes to the gym instead of just underwear or any degree of topless.
We converted our garage into a gym. Not once have I missed this insanity.
I can't wait until I can do this. One day!!
The problem is these psycho people
aren't called out & shamed.
Then how are you commenting this.
love when people pretend to not know why others are upset with them, when there is a clear cut reason.
Misha Petrov, the common sense champion. Well done!
This has actually been really good for me cause its given me motivation to work out in the early morning to avoid these kinds of people
The one with the blind guy had me laughing so hard 🤣 God our society is becoming increasingly brain dead
A lot of these gyms have women only workout areas, but most want to workout in the populated areas.
When I watch these videos, I am glad I don't use Instagram or Tiktok. Social media is brain rot. They do everything for likes.
And I thought I was stupid at 14 saying I thought a boy liked me back because he simply GREETED me. I feel much better now.
It's unfortunate but I think that these are examples of bad apples that spoil the rest. Public gyms can be a space where egos come out to play. Keep up the good work Misha.
These videos are like an advertisement for never going to the gym.
I love the one at 14:30 ish because she’s ranting and raving to herself and then she’s surprised someone is looking at her, and thinking “maybe she needs help”.
This is why I appreciate our local planet fitness. They have no tolerance for phone use in the gym. So much bad is avoided by those rules.
What's really unfortunate is that for serious lifters, filming themselves can be crucial to critique their form and technique. But now all these wannabe influencers have given filming yourself in the gym a bad rap.
I truly think we need to retire the go-to words "toxic" "cringe" and "literally". People's vocabularies are shrinking as a result.
Problematic also needs to be retired for the same reason.
It’s really annoying, because “cringe” is real the only word that truly describes that feeling. But now it feels asinine using it, because it’s used so frequently and inappropriately.
Crap like this is why I work out at home. Less effective but at least I don't risk running into these kinds of people.
Your commentary make it bearable
The manager who said that to him was most likely simping for the girl who complained
The blind guy though! 🤣
He could probably sue for discrimination.
Maybe he doesn't see any point of doing so.
My husband just had to do a sexual harassment training for work in which they said when someone complains because of how they felt, their feelings basically supersede any truth or investigation into the matter. This perfectly illustrates how wrong this type of policy is. I agree he should take it to court and change it!
He should. This shouldn’t go unpunished.
I had a guy make fun of me recently for exercising with leggings, with shorts over the top. Imagine teasing someone for wanting to wear clothes.
"We live in a society that uplifts thinness"
Thats because they are able to lift themselves up.😂
I feel like people also feel free to record everyone nowadays, even family channels, featuring embarrassing moments/showing their child’s face online (digital footprint). I also saw these gym girls recording this guy and laughing and pointing at him for no reason. I hate when people say “don’t record me” and get labelled as a Karen when they just don’t want their face on the internet for 1000s upon 1000s to gawk at.
Where I come from it’s illegal to Film someone and then post it online without their permission!
Depends on the states here. Most states are a one party consent here
Those things should be illegal everywhere
@@turb303agreed
I will tell you, as an older guy, a lot of mental energy goes into trying not to make women think you’re looking at them. When you finish a set, you have to wait. If you’re not looking at your phone, you might look around. It’s innocent but then it’s like “oh Sh!t I looked at that girl and she saw me! Look away! Not too fast or she’ll think she caught you!”
Some people think only hot guys/girls are allowed to stare at them.
Honestly makes me happy that Joey Swoll is calling out the toxicity.
The conversation went like this:
Women need a place to work out without being stared at by men.
What if men want a place to work out without being stared at by women?
Men might discuss business there and exclude women.
What if women discuss business at their gym?
Women need a place to work out without being stared at by men.
etc.
I wish we could have men only gyms but it won’t happen
Men only gyms sounds great. I'd maybe go back again. Until then I'm fine with my stuff at home
Let’s be honest, the women love being stared at by men
The idea of gender separate gyms is ridiculous. Men only gym sounds gay as hell. Us men don’t mind being stared at by women. This stuff is almost nonexistent irl. Don’t be fooled by the internet algos.
That's why I only do calisthenics. When I have more money I will buy some equipment and weights.
Gen Alpha has already been married, had 3 kids, divorced, and had their ex wife take their ps5 and iphone.
You made a great point, if they don't want to be looked at, WHY ARE THEY RECORDING AND POSTING IT?
I don’t want you to look at me, but also I’m gonna post my almost naked self at really specific angles on social media. My eyes are hurting for rolling so much
In my gym, I never see anyone being like this - thank goodness! Everyone just minds their own business!
I have seen half naked people - but they are mostly wanting to look at their form in the mirror!
We also have a female only gym which I absolutely love ❤️
I absolutely hate gyms thank God I have 1 in my home 😭
My biggest fear is being filmed without my knowledge, that’s why I stopped going to the gym
A generation full of narcissists...
I live in a state where taking video of someone without their permission is illegal. So fortunately, I've never seen any of these influencers when I work out. I will also say the people who go to the gym most often are the nicest at helping you out and offering encouragement.
the west is so broken
I worked at an all women’s gym. It was awesome! Also, no one dressed inappropriately there, not because of a dress code but because most women have common sense and we were all there just to get healthy and encourage one another.
if you watch "Idiocracy" it's not as funny anymore.
Thank you!.. I share your content every chance I get.. My wife and I love your channel thank you again.
How about, "Don't flatter yourself, I'm not into kids." "Don't flatter yourself, my wife is a super model." "Don't flatter yourself, I'm gay."?
Would you rather workout at home or a gym?
@@noahbrock349because we don't have the materials?
We have a women's only room at my gym and I only work out in there as I rarely go out to the normal floor. It just feels better private. There are also signs in the locker room that say, "of course you're beautiful but, no recording."
How is discriminating men a good thing? Last time I checked, there were no male only spaces or gyms, even boy scouts had to accept girls
@@simpdefendmlady6579 It's not discrimination?? Some women feel comfortable only working out around women and for some cultures women aren't allowed to be around men like that. It's considerate that some companies make a section for only women. Men never care if there's women in their area
@@strawberryynoodlesauce The femceI has spoken
@@strawberryynoodlesauceDon't know about others, but I am tired of women who explain my own feelings and make assumptions about me just based on my gender, instead of asking me, like any curious and well intentioned human being would. I wonder how many systems had to fail in order to get to a point where you think you know more about 4 billion people than they do about themselves.
I’ve worked out at home for my entire life and continued to in my small apartment don’t understand why ppl need a gym to exercise u can literally work out using anything
The blind man situation is wild. Do they not know what blind means?
Misha, there was a company that tried separate gyms for men and women but the women found a way to complain about the change. If you look it up it’s hysterical how they complained. Mental gymnastics.
This is toxic feminism. When women feel uncomfortable at the gym because guys glance at them for two seconds and then they turn around and post videos of half naked guys at the gym working out which makes the guys feel uncomfortable yet no one else sees a problem with it.
Toxic is implied in feminism. So you can just say feminism.
A clown enters a room and setups a camera and makes a show. Then the clown complains that people are watching.
Facts
So glad my gym finally put up signs in the locker rooms: no filming and no photos in the locker room. So far people have been complying.
I love this young lady, she tells the truth about everything.
I praise that clip @ 3:36 fellow "tarnished" i needed that laugh while sitting at this site of grace. OWWWW i touched the fire im not happy anymore :(
Just ban cameras in the gym altogether. I've heard some do and that indeed it is illegal in the locker rooms, but if no one actually checks the locker rooms periodically to make sure no one's filming, they're not gonna get caught and if they do, insta-perma-ban.
I mean it’s a public space those people are paying just as much as you to go that gym they shouldn’t have to be restricted just because your filming.
This really just highlights the problems with co-ed gyms. None of this could happen if men and women didn't share gyms.
You’re videos are excellent, relevant and influential.
We go to the YMCA and there are signs everywhere that say not to
Take any pics or videos in certain places. Like, nearly everywhere. I love it.
