🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00 📚 This video discusses the book "What to Say When You Talk to Yourself" by Dr. Shad Helmstetter, which is seen as a foundational text for personal development and self-help.
35 🧠 Our brains are heavily influenced by programming and external inputs, often leading to difficulty in making lasting behavioral changes.
16 🗣️ Young children are told "no" 148,000 times before the age of 18, impacting their mindset and self-belief.
17 🧠 Repetition plays a crucial role in programming the brain, leading to neuroplasticity and the ability to change.
56 🔄 We are often unaware of how external sources, media, and society influence our programming and beliefs.
44 💬 Self-talk, whether spoken or unspoken, is a powerful tool to reprogram your beliefs and change your behavior.
52 🚧 Negative self-talk creates a wall of negativity that can hinder personal growth and success. Becoming aware of and changing this self-talk is essential.
05 🔄 Changing your programming is essential for altering beliefs, attitudes, feelings, and behaviors.
31 📊 There are five levels of self-talk. Level 1 is negative acceptance where you accept negative self-talk. Level 2 is recognizing the need to change, but it doesn't offer solutions.
04 🎯 Level 3 is about making a decision to change and rephrasing negative self-talk into positive actions.
12 🚀 Level 4 involves self-talk in the present tense that tells you who you are, strengthening your determination.
36 🌌 Level 5 is universal affirmation, but it may not be necessary for everyone. It speaks to the divinity of being.
19 💬 Take control of your self-talk to reprogram your mind.
46 🔄 Make self-improvement simple and easy to use because complex plans often fail.
26 🤐 Silent self-talk happens continuously; it's essential to become aware of it and silently rewire it in real-time.
05 🗣️ Self-speak, which includes both your self-talk within conversations and being aware of the self-talk in others, impacts your self-improvement.
40 📝 Self-conversation involves talking aloud to motivate and encourage yourself, similar to holding a positive conversation with your subconscious.
54 📚 Self-write allows you to put your positive self-talk in writing and can be used to create a mind map of your self-talk.
21 🎧 Recorded self-talk, such as listening to recordings of positive self-talk, is a powerful technique that can be listened to while engaged in other activities.
09 🧘 Practicing mindfulness and being aware of your self-talk is the foundational step to self-improvement. It helps you notice your current self-talk and motivates you to make changes.
30 🔄 Change negative self-talk immediately with silent self-talk to prevent reinforcing old negative beliefs.
11 🎧 Listening is an easy and effective way to reprogram your mind, recording positive self-talk and listening to it regularly.
06 🔍 When scripting, be specific, address all angles of a problem, and frequently update your scripts for lasting change.
41 💬 Examples of good scripts include positive statements about productivity, memory, relationships, and emotions.

man this is a true gem. thank you so much for putting this together, not only for aquiring the information, but presenting it in this from. been playing it in the background, i totally appreciate it, but im beginning to think the most will be gained by reading it myself, would you agree? of course such a thing is personal preference, but did you read it or listen to it?

@@EthanSchwandtTheMindMapGuy I've read it many years ago ... Would love to get a single page " Memory Jogger " to help keep the salient points to the forefront of my mind ... As with most skills in life its the practice that is most useful ... Not the knowledge ...
As a martial arts practitioner since the early 90's ... Time spent in The Dojo is more important than time spent reading literature on fighting ... Or time spent watching TH-cam videos on techniques ...
Experience has shown me that I need ALL sorts of input to achieve any degree of " Mastery " ... Whether it's Self Talk ... Fighting Skills ... Marketing ... OR ... Whatever ...
Many thanks again for a powerful resource here !!!
