40 yrs ago, it was the same story
I was not ready. Now, I feel such an urgency to absorb as much as possible.

@@rollingon6358 I think he means he came across or read this book 40 years ago but it didn't really sink in / internalise.
I listened to the audible version about two years ago and a similar thing. I'm returning to get it to sink in.

@@who_is_diswhat do you do when it sinks in? How does it impacts your life? Or is it just entertainment more or less?

@@rollingon6358 How is that even a question?
It enables you to be more intentional with your life. You leverage your subconscious to perform better. You also gear your mind to identify opportunities and relevant things that get you closer to your aims. You change how you see yourself, which changes how you behave.
If you had self awareness or reflection in your life you should be able to connect experiences you've had to the information and see what the point is.

@@rollingon6358 After a while, as your mindset develops, you unlock perspectives and patterns in life, making sense of things, and why they happen. Making you realize that a lot of the stuff you learned before is more valuable now than you think because you see things now through a different set of lenses. You see and hear things different because of the way you absorb knowledge now, it's different. Like reading a book and not thinking much about it and only taking in a few key things, and realizing later now that you have a different way of seeing the world, you realize a lot of things you've experienced; books, drives, travel, socializing, etc; will now feel different, now that you have found this new curiosity about developing your mindset, you're now curious to know 10 times more than before.

    The point about trust...
I had this down from a young age so effortlessly. But there was something that happened when I was in my late teens that got my wires crossed where I couldn't do something I was trying to - and I was using my conscious mind to self monitor and intentionally do the thing. Now, what happened was the results were never on point.
But what I did in response is chase my tail and consciously try to get it right. This cycle made it so the conscious / self monitored effort had become an ingrained HABIT.
It even bled into my everyday life. Took a couple years to even realise what the problem actually was, but at that time I couldn't even really put it into clear words.
Took even longer to undo. There's still remnants of it in there and looking back I procrastinated on what I had to do to undo it fully.
My point is; this is some dangerous shit that can flip your life upside down if you get it backwards - even somewhat by accident like in my case.

our ancestors already won in the bigger picture and our " collective subconscious" is inherited from them . I think instincts comes from the same place and its compatible with the maxwell's mindset . in 2020 , conditions change and now we should focus on improving our mindsets instead of hunting . thanks for the valuable videos ethan , keep going !

So great but seemingly endless ads make pausing and rewatching impossible. Just the spinning wheel of death. Then you have close browser, restart…while grateful for this summary, as I love the book, if you can find a better perhaps less grabby-feeling way to monetize, your contribution would be great.

This is a very interesting video. Thank you for sharing this mind map. I strongly #believe that mind maps are important. When you can map out a plan it will keep you on target. I should create mind maps the way you do with books. This is a great way to take notes. I read a lot of books but very rarely take notes like this. Although I do take notes, I think mind mapping a book like this will really break down the main points/ideas that will leave a trail to take action on. Wishing you all the best.

There is a book by the mathematician and polymath Norbert Wiener ... Cybernetics. This is where Maxwell Maltz got his basic thoughts about the workings of man and machine. May I copy from Amazon: Acclaimed one of the "seminal books... comparable in ultimate importance to... Galileo or Malthus or Rousseau or Mill," Cybernetics was judged by twenty-seven historians, economists, educators, and philosophers to be one of those books published during the "past four decades," which may have a substantial impact on public thought and action in the years ahead.—
