Hi, only in very cold weather (0°c or lower) my custom takes a few long attempts to get started. No faults displayed or anything. Should I replace the glow plugs? Great video btw!
I just changed the glow plugs on my ford transit custom and it's still showing fault codes for glow plugs 2 and 3 any ideas? Should I be looking at the glow plug relay? I'm having DPF problems as well it's been cleaned 6 times and keeps getting blocked so I need to get the associated problems sorted so I can get my DPF fixed once and for all!! FYI before I changed my glow plugs I used to have hot starting issues where my van would run like s*** for a while after a hot start and once I fixed my glow plugs that problem went away instantly
@@ORileysAutos thanks so much for replying 🙏 I tested all the glow plugs before I installed them and they all worked, plus the issue I had with the van running was rectified when I changed the plugs.....but the wiring harness was a bugger to reinstall took ages to get the thread to line up so I'm thinking you're probably right about that thanks
@@ORileysAutos I’ve got to do mine and don’t mind buying that impact tool but am really scared to do it, have you ever had any snap when you’ve used the impact tool, great video mate
Is there no risk of snapping using the airgun. I usually drench with duck oil an work them out but even thats a 50/50 chance of them coming out or snapping
hi! I have cold hard started Ford Transit 2.0 eco Blue and no error code at all. I've checked the glow plugs, there's nothing wrong with them. am pretty sure it could be a temperature sensor problem because it doesn't have to give an error code sometimes. do you know how many temperature sensors there are in this engine or have any idea.

@nova I've ordered it off ebay mate, it's behind the coolant tank on my 2014 custom. It's the glow plug relay module I think it's called. It's a little box thing with 2 plugs attached
@@nsdrainagenorthwest1631 nice one will look tomoz. Im getting error all 4 plugs are open circuit so thinking the wiring or relay before i do the plugs. Easiest options first lol dpf light on too. Sucks. Money pits

Why did you change the harness? Because of the loose nut? Or was it an electrical issue?

I also have a euro5 2.2tdci with one glow plug open circuit code. Will this cause my DPF to clog? And if so, how long do I have?
If it's the cylinder glow plugs, no. Vaporiser, yes.

Glow plug wiring harness possibly needs replacing or the glow plugs are faulty

This airgun is specifically designed to open glow plugs without snapping them. No direct force just small impacts with vibration

I have to park on a hill and clutch start it or easy start but takes a while to get it going once it’s warm it starts after 6 seconds
