I love when Olivia advocates for women with Endo !!! We had our Endo excision surgeries by the same surgeon, Dr. Smitha Vilasagar (Vilasagar Gynecologic Surgery) and my life has significantly changed in such a positive way ❤ Today, I am 3 years post excision and living my best pain free life!! Surgery is the gold standard treatment for Endo and finding an excision specialist is key!
Thank you again for sharing your story and bringing this painful awful chronic condition to light 😊💛🎗️

Took me until the age of 34 to be diagnosed. Many doctors ignored me and a good fertility doctor missed the endometriosis until I had keyhole surgery to remove a fibroid

Dr A! I wish so much that I would have known you in my twenties. No one believed me either and I’m an RN and knew all the symptoms but it wasn’t a “popular” thing back then. I even had to have a large chocolate cyst the size of a lemon removed at age 25 which was wrapped around my L Fallopian tube and left it destroyed. By the time I was 32 I was married and wanted to have children. I had basically No egg count. It ended up that I could never have children of my own.

Hi, I had the surgery 2020. Since then I had to figure everything on my own. My pain is not as bad anymore. I changed my diet no gluten, no diary, etc. a lot is better but I still don't know for sure if I'm doing the correct things to my body. My doctors suggest birth control pill, but I want to avoid hormones ,......thank you for this video. I will see if that progesterone IUD is better than hormones (estrogen).

What is considered a painful period? I have bad cramps but is that considered a painful period?

If it’s getting in the way of your life, you’re worried about getting your period, you’ve taken a day off or canceled plans or a vacation, you need to prepare significantly for it and if regular pain meds don’t work. Also, there is an unusual amount of discomfort. Imagine it wasn’t your period: would this pain be concerning to you

Great interview 🎉dealing with fibroids which affects 80% of women of color. Such a lack of research on this
