As a woman living with PCOS, this was SO enlightening and I appreciate you bringing these wonderful ladies on here to talk about a very understudied and overlooked issue that many women face!!!!
Thank you for talking about PCOS i was diagnosed when i was 19 i have dealt with it for a very Long time i am 36 now i felt alone . now i dont feel alone having this . Thank you so Much. felt anxiety dealing with it .
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17 and am currently 8 weeks pregnant with my ozempic (Zepbound specifically) baby 😅 Was taking the medication for weight loss, lost 50lbs, and got pregnant! It wasn’t my intention but still very happy with the outcome 😂 My doctor has already stated they want me to get back on the meds as soon as it’s safe since it has helped me so much. Literally a life changing drug and helped with so many of my PCOS symptoms.
Remember, there is more to producing a healthy baby than just getting pregnant. → If your insulin remains high, your child will experience negative developmental outcomes.
I have lean PCOS and not insulin resistant. Mine is inflammatory. I've struggled with anxiety, depression, loss of hair, loss of libido. I was dismissed at 16 when I initially went to my Dr because 'it was just my age'. It took 3 years to be taken seriously and get a PCOS diagnosis. And even though I raised several other symptoms, not PCOS related, it took another 9 years until I was diagnosed with Endometriosis (total of 12 years)
I found out a month ago by my dermatologist that I may have pcos and I started doing the weight loss shots wegovy like 7 months ago and I feel great now. I’m so glad I started doing the shots before finding out cause maybe I still have a chance to have kids. I am a teen so I have a long way to go but I’m so glad I have options
I've never resonated with a podcast SO much!! In 2021-2022, I was trying to get pregnant for the second time and found out I had insulin resistance/PCOS. I did end up pregnant :) and have been on Metformin ever since the PCOS diagnosis. I definitely want to check out Ovii!
I totally feel like I have PCOS recently I noticed my chin hair, and I thought it was normal but it's not because I've never had it before. Also I got my A1C checked out it was a 6.5, I'm 5'1 SW: 228 started taking metformin currently weight 220. I really want to try this supplement!!!! ❤
I was prescribed Ozempic for my PCOS and it's made a world of difference. My only concern is how expensive it is and the fact that my insurance will only cover it for diabetes.
sadly insurance doesn't work that way you can't just add a benefit like that it is apart of the plan or it isn't especially a group plan or employer plan. It either covers it or excludes it. Mine doesn't
The first time I was told I may have PCOS was by a dermatologist. I went to this dermatologist for acne, and the first thing she said to me was " do you have PCOS?"
I strongly suspect I have lean PCOS but my doctor constantly dismisses me. I have a ton of ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, extreme and rapid hair loss, excess body hair, extreme mood swings, irregular and heavy periods, excessive fatigue. I have literally ever symptom, but because my blood tests come back “normal” my doctor won’t diagnose me Her solution to everything is birth control, even though I’ve told her it makes me psychotic. I went off of it for a year after being on it for almost 7 years, and just went back on because my periods completely stopped. I have never had such intense suicidal (and homicidal) thoughts. I’m considering getting off it again because I’m worried I will try to harm myself. This isn’t normal, but I keep getting gaslit into thinking nothing is wrong This is not normal!! Women are not supposed to just get over this. This is a serious medical issue but no one cares unless we’re trying to get pregnant. I’m convinced it’s all about money at this point, and that’s truly evil. How many more women have to suffer and die early deaths before someone cares about us?
I was diagnosed when i was 30 but still had no information it. im 61now. And we wanted to have a baby after 3 years. I didnt know at at the same time i was diagnose with at 38 diabetes i still didnt know i had pcos at 25 i had seen my gynecologist since my i was 19 my periods were so irregular come when they wanted to and so heavy and it would last 3-4 weeks they diagnosed me with a blood test. I was over weight. the diabetes at 38. Then the next month a article came out that people who have pcos will normally have diabetes and i had insulin resistance and i was put on metforman.
What really bothers me as a PCOS girly who is not morbidly overweight, is that we don't get taken seriously when we tell them we have gained weight and are struggling to lose it. So yes leave that medication to actually obese people instead of treating everyone as they deserve. Why not increase production since it's a high-demand wonderful medication that's helping millions of people? Crazy
Have them go through the Rotterdam criteria *_PLUS_* a fasting insulin test. If you have some extra money to spend, go for an ADIPO-IR calculation too. If the don't think you need a fasting insulin test or they don't know what an ADIPO-IR calculation is, get a nee Gyno *_ASAP..._*
PCOS can feel like such an isolating condition truthfully so thank you for talking about something that so many people struggle with
You can be rid of PCOS in about a year if you do the Carnivore diet.
I am happy to explain more or answer questions or address concerns.
