    I’m definitely being robbed of clarity and frames until I figure out what I’m doing.
    I got a Meta 3 wire linked to a 4090, 7950 with 64GB and it looks like I’m playing standalone on a potato…

      Link on defalut settings? Yep that will rob you... it'll run smooth as butter but it'll also look like theres butter smeared on the screen 🤣

      Watch this bit in my latest BL3 video
      th-cam.com/video/HqygP4GovVM/w-d-xo.html
      Do the same settings, but put your bitrate at 500 since the wire can take it (You can even try higher, but start at 500)

    Every time i use my virtual dektop i get mad stuttering and black smearing in from the side when i turn my head. i have wifi 6 router and quest 3 as only device on the router and 75 mbps download a 12 core cpu and a 6800 . So annoying but i did get steamlink looking good using the oculus debug tool.And if i do get VD working right i got into my game and my character was literally leaning over and all my centre of gravity or whatever you call it was messed up was messed up. so annoying. Leaning like michael jackson in that moonwalk dance lol

      Please don't use Steam Link it's trash. At the worst use Airlink.
      Steam Link is the special kid in wireless VR class.

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      So I have a nothing-special wifi 5 (802.11ac) router and VD works flawlessly for me at maximum... everything. My fear here is it's not the wifi gen that matters, but the router itself. The key item is latency, not necessarily bandwidth. Also having a cat6 ethernet wire from the PC does help a lot.

      @@Stereo3DPlays Ok thanks. I did notice my ROG ally was connected to the router so I need to try it without that. But that leaning issue i had yesterday just put me off. But i will try again. I only bought a cheap wifi 6 router.

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      Go figure, I went for a slightly above mid end wifi 6 router before I bought Virtual Desktop... I expected total meltdown on my current one. Nope, my current one handles it like a beast, so now I am the proud owner of an unopened wifi 6 router with the box still in its cling wrap LOL

    do you have a tutorial for the upscaling software?

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      Maybe I could make one, but only if I myself get around to it more. I'm actually working on my next 1440p with Fallout 4 VR and I've already changed a few things. Prehaps I can incorporate footage of my process into the let's play series eventually.

      Oh that's a known Skyrim VR thing... the hands aren't interpolated at all, so it mirrors every single tracking imperfection known to man. Doesn't interfere with aim or functionality but yeah it's jittery. Most native VR games have interpolation but this is Bethesda we can't be asking too much.
      PS: My coffee consumption also contributes LOL

    Why is it blurred at the edges

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      cause the final image doesn't cover the whole screen on the width (if i do zoom in it starts looking like shit)
      smooth edges looks nicer and i have a blurred background to fill the void kinda like those vertical videos.

    Can I do 1080p or bit better with an RTX 4070 and 16Gb of Ram

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      This game? Your 4070 could run two instances of Skyrim VR at 4K per eye and the GPU would still be bored 😂 (ok maybe not that extreme, but 4K per eye on one instance, piece of cake)

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      Btw the game isn't running at 1440, it's running at about twice that; i tagged this video 1440p because it's the first video I produce at 1440p. Games have gone well beyond that even when I had my GTX 1080.

    I tried everything to make my modded skyrim look better, it worked partially but I'm still having trouble making it really good, most of the time when I tweak virtual desktop or steam settings the game becomes unplayable... I'm running on a Saphire nitro+ 7900GRE + 7800X3D on a quest 3 using virtual desktop
    Any suggestions?

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      I'm not sure... your GPU is definitely stronger than an RTX 2080, and this game requires literally no resources. Running at at 120Hz at 3K per eye is a walk in the park. If it's dying, your mods are too much I guess. I can literally run two instances of Skyrim in VR at 120Hz at 3K per eye on this system, but I admittedly only play the vanilla game because I don't really plan on going through the whole thing.

    Is VD better than a direct connection? What are the benefits?

    • @Stereo3DPlays

      No, VD is a wireless VR interface like Airlink or Steam Link. It can be compared to other wireless solutions but it's a bit unfair to put it next to a direct connection where there is less latency and more bandwidth. VD is a plus when you use wireless: it's the best interface for it.
