I've always liked Sony products the way they're just designed and laid out so well inside as if they want people to look at it.
Not really, green PCBs, bare zinc plated steel, tons of clips.... If you want good design then look at the internals of Apple products. They're expensive but they are definitely built to be beautiful inside and out.
LOL did you ever open a MacBook (the newer ones) they look good from outside but if you open them they look a Chinese knockoff.

Man that motherboard is so small! really impressed what kinda "horsepower" these things can spit out. only issues we got so far is keeping the darned things cool for cheap.

Lmao my mum once got angry (I still don't even know the reasons) and disassembled it with just a hammer, imagine a younger me coming home from school and seeing my ps4 paid with my jobs money, annihilated on the floor.

T8H, it’s a 6pointed star with a hole
I know I'm more than a year late but, it's an S2 T9 bit, similar to a star bit however it's got a hole in the middle (no idea why)

My ps4 fell and was looking for a guide to open it up and see what happened, guess I found it, wish me luck that I dont find something too deep and I cant even fix it.
It's really compact now. I bet someone could tear one of these down and imbed it in a rv or van somehow. It would really save on space.

Looks about as cheap as it gets but at least it works. This thing is so compact its quite surprising what they can do.

im a PS player but i noticed that the internals of PS4 Pro and Slims are cluttered and messy.. and they use paper ribbons to connect components.. unlike the Xbxox One X\S their internals are neatly organized and you can see the build quality imho
But how do you permanently fix the stuck disc error??!?!
You have to take apart the disc drive itself and fix the rollers.
What were the tools used?

Doesn't really matter which one. Both will put out the same performance. But the slim is more compact, and quieter. So I'd go with that one
Slim is way better it’s fan is newer and you get better gigabites
Which screw driver did you use to take out the hard drive or more specifically the screw with the PlayStation button icons
PH1 will do it, but probably want some smaller ones as well

I have CUH-2116 console reference and I have a question about the source of power, since it is countermarked as 220-240V.
However I understand that Sony uses 110--240V in this model Sony use same power source? I would greatly appreciate it.
And where is the bluetooth antenna? My system is a year old and just out of warranty an already has the controller syncing issue, I want to open it up and see if the antenna could be the issue.

i dont get it why consoles can use ddr5 ram and pc is still on ddr4....isnt pc supposed to be far more advanced and expensive ?
GDDR5 (different from DDR5) is graphics oriented RAM based on the DDR3 standard. DDR4 is a new standard.
xAsmir PS4 only uses video memory because of the cpu's integrated Radeon GPU. PS4 does not have ram it has video memory and if it did it would certainly be DDR3. As for a PC you can have DDR4 ram that the CPU uses and GDDR5 X on some of the newer gpu's gtx 1080 etc... The PS4's CPU is not that powerful it's the integrated GPU that's doing all the video processing THATS why it makes sense to have 8GB of GDDR5. That video memory is shared between the CPU and GPU it's more cost effective.
GPU ram on pcs now has GDDR5+ and HBM which is insanely fast. DDR4 ram which is system RAM has benefits compared to GDDR for regular system use.

A console isn't only made of a motherboard. It needs a disc drive, fans, PSU, hard drive, the works.

This thing is tiny! And there is a reason for that! There was and don't know if there is yet an idea for a PS4 Slim! This one has all the same components but no BD-Drive and it is even smaller!!

For warranty reasons. If you open your ps4, (to clean it, let's say) then you need your ps4 repaired for whatever reason and you take it to Sony then they will see you have broken the seal, and tampered with it, potentially them telling you, they won't fix it because you voided your warranty

Ps4 slim is definitely a great piece of hardware but is terribly lacking in games and backwards compatibility. Thats why i still use my 60gb ps3 where i play all my ps1, ps2 and ps3 games and take great care of it

Lol ps4 's and Xbox ones have the same chips and pretty much the same capabilities just cause your a fan of a console doesn't mean you have to run them both down

Does the Slim have a SATA II or III connector for the HDD? I'm debating whether or not it would be worth upgrading the HDD to an SSD in my Slim.
