As a Alcorn fan I love we added FAMU to the SWAC we needed this type of music fr fr it was we missing y’all not as loud but y’all show anit quiet lol and always clean Swac love
FAMU... so impressed with what they've done! Look at how controlled everyone is on the dynamic parts. 18 years ago, when I first started playing tuba, FAMU clearly stood out as a band of pure musicianship. The one thing they never did though was amp up the arrangements, preferring instead for a softer, yet full sound. I always wondered how it would be if they gave us just a little more umph. This is it 👏🏾. And they accomplished it without losing the integrity of their sound.
Famu is America's band...Dr Foster started the whole thing... he's gone but his legacy lives on...famu 's band sounds clear...the arrangements are executed with excellence...no one can match the steps...even the tuba players dance!!!! The difference is clear! Bama...y'all tried!

@@RicoPendergrass someone who knows history, Foster literally wrote the book for band pageantry. A book that SU has taken notes from. The 💯 historically goes to Baton Rouge and shows out. Why yal ain’t come this year ?

@@jujuonthatquan I'm gonna be honest though as someone who marches a corps style band, at times we can be super top heavy. I went and visited fam (I'm the tuba section leader at fsu) and that never really happened with their band. Their tuba section quieted when they needed to and they always had enough power to be the center. I was really impressed with the municipality in the stands, and on the field.

Pretty much ALL SWAC bands sound the same. Loud with no blend and balance. Famu is well rounded. You hear EVERY instrument from the piccolos to the sousaphones. You can't crank up everything
