Great stuff. love seeing early footage of Chaka, and thanks for posting! I get the impression that Tony, perhaps, was kind of like a big brother to Chaka...at least that's how it appears to me. Tony, besides being a wonderful musician, has such a quiet dignity about him....spiritual vibe.

Any reason why Andre Fischer quit the group?
According to Chaka, he attacked her husband and then her… Also, when she was pregnant with her daughter in 1973, he attacked her. She fought him back but the group voted him out

Think it was all related to Chaka giving Natalie Cole advice about Andre Fischer, who was supposed to be beating her (Chaka mentioned, Natalie said), at the time, as they were very cool/close friends at the time. Andre wasn't happy. LOL
@msl5253 Natalie and Andre got married over a decade after Andre was voted out of Rufus. I believe his departure was at the end of 1976 when ASK Rufus was being set up for its January 1977 release.

I guess, Chaka was mistaken (she can be a lil off with the memory sometimes). LOL
As I heard her mention previously, Andre being kicked out the group was related to her friendship with Andre Fischer.
Could they had been dating at the time, regardless of when they got married later?
