In this video i'm showing you how to make a easy and simple Auto Cut Off Charger For 12 Volt Battery 8ah to 100ah.
There i have used few components including Relay & NPN Transistor.
Input voltage should be fixed at 14.5v
and when battery voltage will reach to 13.9 volts, circuit will automatically Cutoff the charging supply to battery and saves battery from over charging.
This circuit is designed to give beep sound also to indicate battery is fully charged.
WORKING
You can see the bc547 is connected to one endof coil pin to switch relay & when it received enough current at base it will switch on relay. Usually we use preset to set cutoff voltage but here i have used fixed resistance.
10k connected to positive that provides current to 2.2k connected to base of bc547 to switch but to avoid early cutoff, i used 180+470 ohms to groud the current from 10 k Resistor and when voltage reaches to 13.9v there current also increases so 2.2k resistor finally receives some current to base of transistor, and relay turns on and Cut Off supply to battery.
If you increase resistance then (180+470 ohms) cutoff voltage will decrease.
If you decrease resistance then (180+470 ohms) Cutoff voltage will increase.

Your effort is appreciated but from my experience with batteries they reach full charge voltage but they are not fully charged this is a dilemma which I can't solve.

Check out this video with adjustable cutoff and feedback from battery for precise cutoff and can be used and adjusted for any battery upto 24v

What resistor can I use to cut off charging at 13.8 volts
With the present setup it cuts off at 14.1v and cuts in when battery voltage drops to about 11.1 volts

Thanks for your enquiry, actually it was designed to cutoff at 14.4v.
But if you want to set different cutoff voltage, please checkout the another video on my channel that circuit is without relay, just simply used mosfet, also you can use variable resistor to set any cuoff voltage.
I have laptop charger 15volts 6amp. Can I use this charger for input device☺?
How about the amperage of the transpormer to the wire and to that indicator? In can affect the amperes? Or not? Decreases or not? Because i used 8agw wire. And what kind of relay is that? Is it electrobpnic relay?

Yes, you can use 5408 general purpose diode, but its recommended to use Schottky Diode as they have low drop voltage.
It can work properly 12 volt 35 ah bettery.. 🙏🙏🙏

In your diagram you have show the dropping resistor for the LED’s as 10k instead of 1.0 k but in the video it’s ok

Fir charging lead acid battery, you can use that power supply by setting the output voltage to 14-14.5v max

Dear Friend, I made a charger following your video. But it's buzzer is activating since start of battery charging. Please explain me, what is the wrong with my charger.
Make sure input is 14v -14.5v max, and connect battery first then powerup the circuit.
Can we use a half wave DC supply as it is good for charging
With this circuit it is better to use Full wave rectifier

Thanks, sir actually this os basic design for just 12v lead acid battery, and lead acid battery charges full @ 14-14.4v.
But lithium batteries are different and is charging full @12.6v, more than will hurt battery life.
So soon I'm going to upload the Balance charging system for 3s Lithium battery

14.5 v how to Transformers select 12 volt transformer ok aur any other transformer suggestion for you
You can simply use 15 v transformer and use lm317 to regulate it to fixed 14.5v

Yes you can use but instead of bc547 use TIP41C or other NPN power transistor to provide enough current to relay, also take care of transistor pin outs.

SR360 is Schottky diode and has lowest voltage forward drop, if you're unable to find Schottky diode, You can also use General purpose diode 1N5408

Yes, you can charge 60AH battery just replace 1N5408 diode with MIC10 & input must be 14v 4-6A

You can use 18-24v transformer with bridge rectifier then you can regulate that dc voltage with lm317 ic that will provide you voltage of your choice with 1.5A output

Hi, In the circuit diagram the normally closed relay contact ; e.g closed on a non energised relay, is denoted by a blackened relay triangle contact style symbol in the relay diagram. The normally open relay contact; which closes when the relay is powered/energised, is denoted by a white triangle style symbol in the relay diagram.
