Thats a nice oscilloscope. I looked for it, its not expensive at all too! Why don't you make a component tester for this scope? In the past i had a hameg oscilloscope with built in component tester. When you look at this video on youtube: #49: Simple Component Tester using Oscilloscope - Octopus Curve Tracer (there are lots of these video's on youtube). Than you can easy measure components in a circuit. You can measure capacitors and chokes too! (but when you don't have the money for an oscilloscope, your project is fine!)
Hi, from England, UK. Don't forget that if you increase the output voltage on such a power supply there will be less current available as you cannot get free extra power from nowhere, just in case anyone wonders why their little power pack fries after trying such a modification.
@@thesaint2517 Say the little PSU delivers 5 volts at 1 amp, that's 5 x 1 = 5 watts. So if you increase the output voltage to say 30 volts, then at 5 watts you can only draw 1/6 of 1 amp, i.e. about 160-odd milliamps, as 5/30, you do the maths...

29 вольт на питание вольтметра явно много. И бездумно увеличивать стабилитрон по холодной стороне не стоит, а то блок может испустить волшебный дым. Задумка не плохая, но реализация хромает, по нормальному нужно перемотать вторичку транса, добавив ещё витков 10,тогда от старого отвода запитать вольтметр, а от нового + на испытательный щуп. . Делать нужно по уму, хотя примитивные методы и подкупают своей простотой реализации.

What's it calculating? Ampere or Voltage? If Ampere, why is it showing 29+ even without connecting any device to it. Ampere can be shown/detected only while consumption. How can it show 29+ when no device is connected?
THe 29 volts is the open voltage. When you connect a zenerdiode of (for example) 12 volts, the zener wil have 12 volt over it. The rest of the voltage is over the 10K resistor. The resistor is there for not overload your zenerdiode. The voltage over a normal diode in forward is about 0.6 volts. So when the diode is ok, you will read a voltage of 0.6 volts on the meter. When the diode is shorted, you shall read zero volts.
that tester is displays voltage on his probes, max in open circuit. it's useful only for measure unknown zener value. the output current is just limited via 10k resistor.
If its DC output is less than 1A you should throw it away, because it couldn't do anything. Yes it can charge the phone but it takes too long because of its low amperage.

You can't increase the amperage of a charger. The entire thing would need redesigning. Find or buy a charger with a higher rating.
