Great footage.... Great band.... Interesting to see Joe English drum kit and how brilliantly he plays it.....also very interesting to see how Denny and Paul stood opposite looking at each other while harmonizing and once again to notice how important a musical playmate and companion Denny Laine were to McCartney. Laine is picking up on any thing McCartney is throwing at him and playing whatever instrument he has in hand, that's pretty awesome....
I met Linda at Appledore rail station in 1984 and Met Paul in Hove a few years later when he was with a later wife (Heather Mills) I shook his hand and spoke to him, amazing couple of minutes.
@@garychambers5850 yeah he also wasnt the kindest person on earth, he was really egocentric for what we know when he left Wings, he had big potential but that's all, he was only playing things Paul made
Would of LOVED to have Seen Paul perform LIVE in the 70's. Well, one night my kid brother and my buddy asked me if I wanted to go see "Paul McCartney and Wings" at "Madison Square Garden". This was May 1976. They had no tickets. They were going to try and get them from scalpers. I told them their never going to get in. And besides my wife was 8 ½ months pregnant. Well, they both got in....
This is really nice... thank you, Back To The Egg. One thing: it's honest -- no sound enhancement -- and the audio is synchronized to the video -- wow; secondly: the black & white footage adds "vintage-ness" to this video. Imagine, in four years -- give or take a month or so -- this will be fifty years ago.
8:39 The song is Silver, one of Denny's songs that was recorded while Wings was still together (although it seems Paul doesn't appear on the recording), and was released on his solo album Japanese Tears.
And we now know that two songs by Denny ("Silver" and "Same Mistakes") were attempted during a Wings recording session at Abbey Road on 21 October 1975). The versions on "Japanese Tears" are later recordings made, of all places, at Ringo's Startling studio.
Back then, I wonder if he ever misses John, George & Ringo? I know he's playing with really good players but, I think he miss's his boys. Those three guys got him to where he is at that moment. 🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♀️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♀️
In all honestly, Paul was a star with or without the Beatles. The guy was so musically talented and a natural performer that he was always destined for greatness.
There was a sad quote from Steve Holley in ‘79 where he said they were having a particularly long and difficult night session when Paul said something random and silly and then said “John used to say that a lot.” And then stared off a thousand miles into the distance with the saddest look on his face. Steve said the problem was clear: “God, he missed John. All the time.”
My comment is, largely, unrelated to this video...and I'm not even sure why it occurred to me, but...I wonder what Paul sounded like when he was crying following Linda's death. It's odd...I can picture the other three Beatles, crying, but it's harder for me to imagine Paul in the throes of grief.

Linda was and is a gateway into the past and the future and beyond. She was an icon and she was loved 🥰

Are you on acid?
I wore my Venus and Mars LP out. Great album.
What a tragedy to lose the great guitarist jimmy mccolough. A Great wings lineup.... those wings albums gave and still give me great pleasure.
Huge Jimmy fan here, very talented very fine!
It was a great Tragedy but what's sad, he did it to himself. He didn't mean to but, mostly anyone who OD's is an accident.

@@Tommy-TwigFan actually Wings recorded two of his songs. Funny how both songs dealt with medicine.
Same here, love Jimmy! One of the best!

This is brilliant, never seen it before, would be great if the whole show existed!
Frank Ayres It’s not a show, it’s a rehearsal

WOW.. have never seen this.. .great clear shots of Joe English's setup!
1:14 OOF 😍 I’ve got this on repeat. That little “ah”
I was at the Philly show in 1976. What great memories.
Me, too. Both shows. Back when Paul could still sing!
Saw Wings at the Old Chicago Stadium back in Nineteen Hundred Seventy Six.

Very cool video. Was hoping to see more footage of Jimmy”s gear from that tour. Thought he had great tone on that live album.
Thank god you have this footage fantastic this is rock music at its best never to be seen again
Una de los mejores grupos de los setentas y un genio notable como MACCA
El mejor album de wings
A brief glimpse of Paul and Stella
Jimmy looking like 'Keith Partridge' from the Partridge Family! - (David Cassidy)
thak you thank you ! very very rare seen.
Fantastic job

Rehearsals prior for the Wings Over the World tour. Its all quite rough & shows that Paul has to get it right alongside the rest of the mere mortals.
Cool!
great footage!
fantastic video! thanks for sharing!
Didn't know about this footage. Thanks for sharing.

Venus and Mars.
Que bueno que se dedico ala musica porque como futbolista se moría de hambre. Ah que mí amado Paul
I wonder why Jimmy McCulloch's name was omitted when all the band walked in in the beginning. 🤔
It could be a Soundcheck also.
This is great footage that I have not seen before.Too bad its in black and white.
@apex Yes, this pre-dates the advent of color film by a full 10 years…

Not trying to be funny, but it probably sounded like him singing "I'm Down".
John was still alive…..
never knew Macca went in for Rolls Royce's?! - :)
Cool rehearsal but Denny's trousers are a crime against humanity.
😂
I bet Denny still has those bell-bottoms😉
Ooh...that broadway show song-eee sexy...
Good thing they we're rehearsing the backup vocals. Just sayin.😊 Never seen this👍
Yeah, a lot of vocal clams. Looking at you, Mrs. Macca.
How flat are Linda's vocals on Call Me Back Again?
So flat the flat earth society has donated a star in her name on the boulevard
Linda & Yoko. Both as bad as each other.
You wouldn't think so listening to Wings Over America??? BVs sound real dodgy here!
Ever hear most of todays " stars " without auto tune ? Live & on records ?
@@ThePosserman there was a ton of post-production work done.
Some people still think Paul McCartney was in Wings.
How mistaken they were
I did enjoy Linda’s contributions to Wings, but man that woman didn’t have an ounce of rhythm.
I love Linda but I don’t think she should have been singing.
She was punk before punk was. 😊
