I am a Korean. Koreans like the combination of sugar and ketchup. The salt is already used to mix the eggs and cabbage. If you think sugar and ketchup are weird, try a corndog at home. It's pretty good! ☺

Koreans like to put sugar on everything - toast, bread, rice cakes, fries, even pizza. Though not my personal preference. There is not even a single brand of chips that are not sweet/salty. Korean versions are all sweet.

Koreans like to put sugar on everything - toast, bread, rice cakes, fries, even pizza. Though not my personal preference. There is not even a single brand of chips that are not sweet/salty. Korean versions are all sweet.
@@CorporateQueen True, but baking recipes usually have salt added to them, because it heightens the flavors of the final result. This is just going the opposite way. Think of a glazed ham: smoky, salty, sweet, and delicious!
I can't lol, I don't think we mexicans have a lot of sweet food (since we like spicy) but the only thing I can think of is mole (meat with spicy chocolate sauce), but putting sugar on things is pretty strange to me as well xdxdxd

That was shredded cabbage and onions.
I got a flattop griddle and the first thing we made was these sandwiches. Soooo dang good. And yes, the brick butter makes a big differance.
