In Movie version they show Dumbledore very less powerful. Here is the book version in short. Please read it “But Master - he is here - he is below -” Voldemort paid no attention. AVADA KEDAVRA!” Harry had not even opened his mouth to resist. His mind was blank, his wand pointing uselessly at the floor. But the headless golden statue of the wizard in the fountain had sprung alive, leaping from its plinth, and landed on the floor with a crash between Harry and Voldemort. The spell merely glanced off its chest as the statue flung out its arms, protecting Harry. “What - ?” said Voldemort, staring around. And then he breathed, “Dumbledore!” Voldemort raised his wand and sent another jet of green light at Dumbledore, who turned and was gone in a whirling of his cloak; next second he had reappeared behind Voldemort and waved his wand toward the remnants of the fountain; the other statues sprang to life too. The statue of the witch ran at Bellatrix, who screamed and sent spells streaming uselessly off its chest, before it dived at her, pin- ning her to the floor. Meanwhile, the goblin and the house-elf scuttled toward the fireplaces set along the wall, and the one-armed centaur galloped at Voldemort, who vanished and reappeared beside the pool. The headless statue thrust Harry backward, away from the fight, as Dumbledore advanced on Voldemort and the golden centaur can- tered around them both. “You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?” called Voldemort, his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. “Above such brutality, are you?” “We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,” Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk toward Volde- mort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit -” “There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” snarled Voldemort. “You are quite wrong,” “Indeed, your failure to un- derstand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness -” Dumbledore never failed down in book version. Voldemort was nervous entirely while face Dumbledore. Voldemort go inside Harry coz he failed to face Dumbledore.
SpartanandPudgey Here is the prophecy as it appears in the books: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies...." This prophecy could have applied to either Harry or Neville. Dumbledore believes that Voldemort marked Harry, making it a certainty that he is the one who will defeat Voldemort. However it should be pointed out that Voldemort, or his subordinate Bellatrix Lestrange anyway, "marked" Neville in other, less physical ways. It cannot be denied that Neville bears scars as real as Harry's forehead scar. Just something to think about. By the way, Sybill Trelawney made the prophecy. Because of this, Dumbledore kept her at Hogwarts lest she be tortured for information by Death Eaters. This is why he would not allow her to be expelled from Hogwarts by Umbridge. As for Harry's mother, I will only reveal what was shown up to this point. During the scene where James was bullying young Severus Snape, Lily defended Snape and demanded that James release him. Snape blindly lashed out at her, calling her a mudblood. That's all we know to this point.
Hey guys. So yeah that gate can be seen and heard by people who've seen death. Fun fact, Daniel who plays Harry had just lost a family member around shooting this film. His scream was so full of emotion that some of the cast members including Bella starting crying feeling his real pain and thats why they cut out the sound but left the scene. 😢
Bellatrix didn't kill Neville's parents. She did much worse. She tortured them so horribly that they could not take it anymore and lost their minds because of the pain
@@Kevin.Costner.they lost their memories, long term and short term. They are in the mental ward. Neville was visiting them when they went to St. Mungo's in the book.
@@Kevin.Costner.that's one of the saddest parts of the books. You learn that even though they don't know their son, their son wants to know and loves them. That's why he wasn't ready to talk about because he was still hurting for his parents.
Voldemort actually fears Dumbledore. Dumbledore wasn’t trying to kill voldemort he was trying keep him busy just until the ministry got there to see voldemort for themselves.
I love the fact, that it is Lupin who is holding Harry back in 39:55. A lot of Lupins story from the books isn´t covered in the movies, but you can see in this scene in his face, that he too like Harry just lost his family. His last friend in the world dies and still he is protecting Harry. Lupin is such an underappreciated character!
I think it's also important to note that, in the books, Lupin is definitely shown to be impacted long term by Sirius's death. He shows in the last book, when he comes to Harry to try and work with him on *won't give away spoilers for Spartan and Pudgey* that even years later, when under extreme stress, he regresses emotionally and wants to return to what is safe and comforting i.e. working together with his best friends again. Harry being the physical image of James with the sass of Sirius is now the closest thing he has to family. Lupin is honestly one of my favorite characters and I wish he was fleshed out more in both the books and movies. The amount of pain and suffering and loss he's experienced in his life. Yet he keeps trying to make the world a safer place, even for those who shun him. He is far from perfect and definitely needs truckloads of therapy but he tries his best regardless and pushes through to the end. I wish he and Harry had had more book and screen time together since Lupin knew both Lily and James so well.
“it was foolish of you to come here tonight, Tom” is the most KILLER line in the series. Also in books, Dumbledore is just testing himself against Voldemort and rolls him while holding off Bellatrix and protecting Harry all at the same time.
@@divyarora508 Yeah, I was a bit disappointed with how it was handled in the film. I remember in the book that Dumbledore was in complete control of the flow of the duel, but in the film it was made to look like Voldemort had the upper hand during this fight. I suppose that was done to make Voldemort seem more threatening and dangerous, but it somewhat undermines Dumbledore's power and *SPOILER FOR SPARTAN/PUDGEY:* the power of his wand.
@@withxoutxlife Dumbledore apparated and disapparated within the same room (btw very difficult to do); none of riddles curses hit him, dumbledore brought to life the centaur statue in the atrium to keep Harry safe and a fair distance away from the arena(as far as I remember), nagini striked at Dumbledore but again Fawkes saved him; riddle was gasping for breath in the ball of water and was in a shambolic state post the duel and hence finally he resorted to possessing Harry so as to stop Dumbledore. The only leverage that riddle had over Dumbledore were the horcruxes.
It is not really explained in the movies - but Sirius had 3 cousins - the Black sisters: - Belatrix who married the Death Eater Rodolphus Lestrange we met already - Andromeda who got disinherited for marrying the Muggleborn whizard Ted Tonks - Nymphadora Tonks from the Order is their daughter. - and Narcissa Black who married Lucius Malfoy - Draco's mother.
@@mylightobscures A lot information did not made it into the movies and not all are important. But this as well as the Marauders & Lily & Snape dynamic (unfortunately not shown when Harry entered Snape’s mind), the map and their Patronuses, the fact that Sirius nearly managed to get Snape mauled by Remus as a prank, the information about Snape’s parents, and the fact that Neville could have been the Boy-Who-Lived as well as the fate of his parents are rather crucial to fully understand the story and should have been at least mentioned shortly in the movies. It might be that because half of the books were written and published during the filming they were not aware of the importance of some of these information.
@mylightobscures First cousin once removed. Sirius' mom and the Black sisters dad are siblings. This also means that both Sirius and Tonks are also first cousin once removed with Draco.
One of the saddest moments in the book is where Harry runs to find Nearly Headless Nick to ask him if Serious could turn into a ghost. Just his desperation to get his only family back is heartbreaking
I'm pretty sure that was in Half Blood Prince, not Order of the Phoenix. I could be wrong though, but I don't remember much happening after all of the stuff at the ministry in the books
I was just talking about this scene the other day. The death of Sirius was much more heartbreaking in the books. Harry finally got a family then lost it. I cried so hard.
Umbridge reminds me of Nurse Rachet from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Another villain who is scary because you know people like her really exist.
it really isn't though... what she has said is nothing that majority of people agree with. She said nothing derogatory, however, people don't want to see the reasoning behind her responses but its your opinion@@jamesb7924
It's made even better if you are familiar with stories of centaurs. In the books, what they do to her results in her ending up in St. Mungo's due to the ptsd.
@@RonLarhz They might be, but does it not make sense to include the things that give them more views? Can you not instead chalk this up to them being dumb reactors who don't know what a fanbase wants to see when they have to cut up movie reactions for TH-cam in the first place?
i think they're confused because in the goblet of fire, voldemort calls lilly potter a muggle, movie mistake, the line should have been " your mudblood mother" but because goblet of fire was,oh, so well done, no one noticed the mistake
Everyone misses that Harry tried to use the unforgivable cruciatus torture curse on Bellatrix. Even in his grief/rage he couldn’t make it work because you have to mean it.
Even I missed it for the longest time (Tbf I was like 12 when I watched it the first time lol) until I rewatched it like a year or two ago. It’s tough because it’s such a short moment so it’s easy to miss + you have to actually know how crucio works to fully appreciate it at all.
Yeah he uses it a few times in the books along with imperius, Bellatrix says he cant cast it properly because it has to be fueled by a desire to cause pain, but his is fueled buy righteous anger. still works as a stunner though. i liked it when he used the darker spells.
Cheapens the world honestly. Reinforces that there are no real consequences and that the boundaries of the world are not real. When our hero can use "unforgivable" magic and have it not even mentioned let alone have real consequences... Meh. Not my favourite
@@Nomadic813i think the difference is, that he didn’t actually ‚use’ it? i mean it didn’t work so he never really casted the spell against another human 🤷♀️
Some facts from the book: - Hermione uses enchanted coins so that all members of the DA could communicate between each other using the letters etched on the coins. - At some point Fred and George trap a quiditch slytherin player in a certain cabinet, cuz he was insulting their family. - Harry has more than one detention session with umbridge, the cuts of the quill healed immediately, so the letters were etched on his hand cuz he wrote alot, the scar actually remains on his hand for the rest of the series. - Dobby is the one who tells Harry about the room of requirement, he heard about it from other domestic elfs that worked on the castle. - To avoid an accident like the one you saw in the movie were Harry rebounded the spell towards Snape, Snape used the pensive to empty his memories while practicing with Harry. - When Harry sees Mr Weasley get attack dumbledore sends he, and Rons familiy to the Order Headquarters, then they visit Mr Weasley at the hospital, were they meet Neville's parents, and they also found out that Lockhart was still there under treatment. - On the last session of Occlumency, Snape emptied his memories on the pensive as always but a Slytherin student found the missing quiditch player trapped on the cabinet (where Fred and George put him), Snape cancells the session with Harry cuz he had to get the student out, but he left the pensive with his memories. Harrys curiosity wins him over and he dove his head in the pensive, there he saw the memory thats in the movie but at the very end Lily comes calling out James to stop harrasing Snape, then Snape shouted at her that he didnt need her help and called her a mudblood. - Harry uses Umbridges fireplace to contact Sirus, cuz he saw him in the vision of Voldemort, but the only one thats there is kreacher, who lied telling harry that Sirus wasn't in the House. - On the combat of Voldemort vs Dumbledore, Voldemort feels that he is mocking him cuz he wasn't using mortal spells. Voldemort then possess Harry in the hopes that Dumbledore would kill Harry to kill him. Here's a little fragment of their interaction: “You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?' called Voldemort, his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. 'Above such brutality, are you?' 'We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,' Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk towards Voldemort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit -' 'There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!' snarled Voldemort. 'You are quite wrong,' said Dumbledore, still closing in upon Voldemort and speaking as lightly as though they were discussing the matter over drinks. 'Indeed, your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness'.”
Dumbledore is the only person Voldemort was ever scared of. Also about unforgivable curses, it's not specifically explained in the movies but they can be used only if you truly mean them. So its not just about right words but you really have to mean to kill, torture, control someone.
Yeah, in the book Barty Crouch Jr told the class that they could all point their wands at him and say Avada Kedavra and he would probably only get a nose bleed.
Sirius’ death wasn’t actually because of the killing curse. In the book him and Bellatrix were dueling and he got hit with a stun and he fell through the veiled arch. The veil is essentially a barrier between the living and the dead and passing through it would just be instant death.
People were going CRAZY with theories about the veil and what the significance of Sirius falling into it was before the 6th book came out. Especially since Luna and Harry could see it, and they could see the thestrals which could only been seen by those who'd seen death - there was clearly a connection between the veil and death/the afterlife. I'd say more but I don't want to spoil anything.
It was in the movie . And since he was dead from the killing curse he then passed through the veil. You’re right in the books it wasn’t the killing curse but it the movie it is.
@@BumFluffer1999 I dont remember entirely, but I think it was something about her thinking Harry was making a fool of the ministry and she wanted to shut I'm up
Even the great horror writer, Stephen King, said that the character Dolores Umbridge was "the greatest make-believe villain to come along since Hannibal Lecter". I love watching you two become this invested in the characters! Great reaction!
Unknown to the ministry Kingsley Shacklebolt is a member of order under Dumbledores leadership. He would never have taken him to Azkaban. Dumbledore did him a solid so he could keep his cover.
@@chrisking6667I never thought about this. I always completely forget Kingsley is part of the Order when I’m watching just that scene, and remember it anytime else
"Nice one James!" was another line that couldn't leave my head the second I read that scene, and once Gary Oldman said it in the movie it was so haunting... The way the scene is written in the book is very disorienting, there is so much happening and suddenly, Sirius is dead, gone, he went through the veil, Harry thinks he's just out of reach, he can't really comprehend it...
I'm Spanish, and that was the first book that I read in English (I didn't want to wait until the translation), so imagine my confusion with that whole chapter. I needed to read it several times, and I couldn't understand what happened.
I reread that last scene so many times, so confusing. I had just turned 13 when this book finally came out and just couldn't fathom that Sirius had died. I was still a little kid in that sense, "there's no way this character that I have come to love as a father figure is just gone. Dead."

I think fighting in the books was more about actual "magic" as how we usually imagine it , like Disney-ey magic, manipulating physical objects, transformation, teleportation etc. while in the movies it's more like "big laser beams hitting each other"
30:26 If you didn't notice That was Percy, Ron's brother who was a prefect in 1&2, he actually disowned the family when they supported Dumbledore on the fact that Voldemort is back.
When Harry sees snapes memories. He actually sympathizes with him given that snapes relationship with his father was pretty much like his relationship with dudley
Yeh he even goes to Remus and serius about what his father was like when he was in school. It makes for such a good scene cos Remus and Sirius reminisce about James and their school days and in the book it sounds so much like two friends talking about their deceased friend. They started laughing about the way he used to mess up his hair intentionally to make it seem like he just got off his broom lol it’s awesome. It also lets Harry know that his dad was a dick in his early years at school but by the time he got to his final years he had changed a lot and became a lot less big headed.
It's because she's so sadistic and realistic. Voldemort isn't scary because he's so unrealistic to our world. But her? Oh boy. She makes one's blood boil.
I see that someone explained that Lily was Muggle-born like Hermione. The thing that I always found ironic is Voldy and his followers were so pro pure blood, when he himself was a half-blood! I really love your reactions and the fact that you don’t make us wait!
It's the same way the Nazis loved blond haired, blue eyed Ayrans even though Hitler had brown hair (I don't know his eye color, but I'm betting it wasn't blue).
and bellatrix calling harry half blood when her precious dark lord is a half blood himself. I liked how harry calls her out for that in the books, wished it was shown in the movies as well
Personally, i highly doubt he ever told his followers about his background. It's not something Voldemort is proud of and he doesn't consider any of them his friend. A handful of his first Death Eaters likely know him as Tom Riddle, but they wouldn't know his parentage, so everyone would just assume he was a Pure-blood given how he carries himself.
@@greywolf7577 You're so wrong and that's because you don't actually have a single clue of what “Aryan" meant for Nazi Germany. The “type specimen" was tall, blonde, and blue-eyed. But that's the cartoon version of “Aryan". What they went by when they constructed their race fantasies was not skin colour, it was elaborate measurements of the body, especially the skull. You could have basically any skin colour and be “Aryan"; some Iranians and Indians were “Aryan". The National Socialist definition of race was based on “purity of the blood”, not physical features. An Aryan for Hitler and the Nazis meant someone of pure racial stock. The aesthetic representation of the Aryan you see in Nazi posters was an ideal, not official policy or law. Your ancestry determined whether or not you were an Aryan, per the Nuremberg Laws of 1935, before WW2 even started. Hitler personally recognized everyone from the British to the Greeks to the Tibetans as belonging to the Aryan race. On the principle of “by their fruits ye shall know them” Hitler believed all “creative peoples” must be of Aryan descent, including the Japanese. He wrote this in MEIN KAMPF. Basically, the most important bit was ancestry. If, for example, your family had been in Northern or Western Europe for centuries, that was proof enough that you were “Aryan".
The archway is an ancient artefact, used for executions. If you stand near it, you hear the voices of the dead calling you through the veil. It was that, not Bellatrix's curse (which wasn't Avada Kedavra in the books) that killed Sirius.
Just for clarity, Sirius didn't die because he was called into the veil, he died because Bellatrix's spell knocked him into it. Your wording made it sound like Sirius got drawn into the veil because of the voices.
that giddy excitement spartan had when Dumbledore showed up to help trelawney was so great to see. they've fallen fully in love with this series and im so glad to see it
Lilly wasn't a muggle, she was muggle born like Hermione. Filch however is the opposite: magical parents but has no magic himself:- a 'squib' that's why he hates the students. Harry used an unforgivable curse on Bellatrix (the same one she used on Nevil's parents) but he was not very good at it. He will use another one in the last film!
The chapter where Dumbledore fights Voldemort in the book is called "the only one he ever feared", obviously referring to Dumbledore being the only wizard Voldemort ever considered his equal. That title alone is so epic. Dumbledores only mission here was to safe and defend Harry and by achieving that he won this battle. Also, note that the curse Harry uses to bring Bellatrix down is crucio, one of the unforgivable curses. His first time casting one of those (out of anger and pain). In my opinion a really powerful scene and well adapted, even though different from what happens in the book.
little mistake. Voldemort considered the only possibly more powerful than him, maybe by experience, maybe by inteligence. Thats why he's son enforced to prove he's the most powerful wizard ever, cuz he's afraid Dumbledore is more than him. In the other hand Voldemort considered harry as his equal, since he showed great power as a child same than him, and they were bonded by some kind of destiny, different situation than Dumbledore
2:28 Aw, I think that's a bit unfair - Harry wasn't excited at the end of the last movie because he just witnessed a murder and was then tortured by one of the most powerful wizards of all time. I don't think him being a bit quiet in the final scene is a sign that he's bad at making friends. We do see that he is friends with other kids in the movies, so try not to take that perspective from the one final scene.
Sorry, but I am a huge fan of the books and films. And "Magic is Freedom is something a Slitherin would say" If you think of it. Of course i know pudgey had something different and good in mind while saying that. But a good and wise wizard (imagine Dumbledore) would have answered to the quote that "magic is freedom", that "magic ins't freedom, magic is resonsibillity". Just think of it. Am i wrong?
Lily is Muggle born(a witch or wizard with non-magical parents) just like Hermione. Mudblood is a derogatory term for muggle borns. Lily was very studious like Hermione, She more than likely came across the ancient spell while studying in Hogwarts OR found It while seeking something specifically to protect Harry during the wizarding war. Hope this helps! Love the videos ❤
What ancient spell are we talking about? I thought it was the pure act of self-sacrifice out of love for Harry that protected Harry, no spell on Lily’s part was needed. I believe the crucial factor in the events that went down is the fact that Voldemort gave her a choice: step aside to let me kill your child and I won’t harm you. She obviously didn’t. And that’s a direct result of Snape begging Voldemort to spare Lily, otherwise Voldemort would have had no qualm just outright killing Lily
Came here to say this!!! Lily herself wasn’t a muggle, she was born from muggles. Which explains why Petunia called her a “freak” and treated her as she did. There must have been magically blood somewhere in her lineage, but she was the only witch in her immediate family. Which makes Harry a Full blooded wizard technically since both of his parents were wizards. I’m pretty sure that according to Voldemort and his followers Harry’s bloodline still wouldn’t be considered “pure” since his mother was born from muggles. The way that the Malfoy’s speak of bloodline, it seems they think there shouldn’t be any muggles there.
@@MommaMo373 You're right, Lily was a full witch, but Muggle-born. You're right about the way Death Eaters and Voldemort view purity of blood. However, people like Hermione and Lily, witches (and wizards) born of Muggles, don't necessarily have magic in their lineage. Sometimes, magic offspring are born to non magical parents at random. That becomes an important plot point in the 7th book (not sure about the movies)
I had the DVD version of this HP film with a whole Behind The Scenes feature. The director stated that Daniel Radcliffe (who plays Harry) screamed so loudly and with such agony when they shot the scene when Sirius died, that he decided it would be more affective and less traumatising to younger audiences to mute the scream.
Sadly the muting had the opposite effect of giving the death less impact. At least on me when I saw it & most of the other people in the cinema. When that moment came & it was just silence most of the people in the cinema actually laughed in an embarrassing way. I just found the scene cringe & awkward. Seriously lost its impact doing that ☕️
That is so interesting; I remember reading the book & imagining the scene with Harry screaming at Dumbledore being worried what that would feel like in the movie, so when they did the scene in kind of slow motion with no sound just the background music I was like 'okay, that works'; you could kind of see his pain in the body language when he screamed too, so I feel like they made that work; reminded of the scene in LOTR after they lost Gandalf & all you see is their reactions & hear the vocals/music.
Neville's parents didn't get killed. If you remember, the second of the unforgivable curses is the torture one. They were tortured by Bellatrix and the dude impersonating Mad eye in the 4th movie. They didn't give in though, so they were tortured to the point of going mad and now live in a "wizard psychiatric hospital" of sorts (same place that phony dark arts teacher from the 2nd movie went to after he erased his own memory)
They did a great job in this movie showing Harry's internal struggle that made the book so powerful. The confusion and Anger portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe in this movie makes you feel like this is where Daniel Radcliffe finally evolved as an Actor which is amazing because this is where the series evolves as a whole as well.
52:14 - Back Story. Tom Riddle was never a sweet kid because of the way he was conceived. Voldemort’s father was a muggle who was given a love potion by Voldemort’s mother, a descendant of Salazar Slytherin that was abused by her father and brother. So Voldemort was conceived by force, not by love. It makes a huge difference in understanding the base difference of Harry and Voldemort when you have that context.
For the fight between Dumbledore VS Voldemort, in the books Dumbledore has the upper hand without question. It's like a stroll in the park for him. When Voldemort realises he can't win, he tries to possess Harry, which fails ultimately. The chapter was rightfully called: 'The Only One He Ever Feared'. Wonderful reactions and great depth in your analysis. A joy to watch, thanks!
Aww, the TH-cam edit doesn't have the scene where Umbridge gets taken away by furious centaurs and Harry delivers one of the most satisfying lines ever... I punch the air every time. I'll assume you guys loved it when he told her, "I must not tell lies"
This movie was where they really cut back on the intricacy of the magic scenes compared to the books. Scenes like fred and george leaving were way more involved. Professor Flitwick fist pumping them is a nod to the books where they had left a corridor magically flooded when leaving and flitwick got rid of all of it except a small puddle to honor them and to say f*** you to Umbridge. In the books, Dumbledore basically KOs everyone in the room before leaving in his arrest scene. The DA fighting the death eaters in the book was way more than just flashing lights that knock you back. There was a brain room, a space room, a time chamber and a death eater gets stuck in this state where his head is constantly aging and deaging going from old man to baby on repeat. They're using flame whips, dancing feet spells, full body binding curses, silencing charms so that a death eater can't alert the others of their presence, ron gets hit with a curse that essentially makes him drunk and incapacitated and then gets attacked by a brain thing with tentacles. It's way more up close and personal tackling people, gouging eyes, choking people out. Even the dumbledore vs voldemort fight was cooler with them apparating out of the line of spells instantaneously, animating centaur statues, fawkes taking a killing curse for dumbledore (obviously then being reborn). They did this in earlier films as well but this movie forward is where magical spells essentially just become blasts of light that knock you back or something but the books are so much cooler with spell work.
Also the part in Dumbledore's office after Sirius dies and Harry is breaking down was something I was looking forward to seeing. It sucks it wasn't in the movie. 😞
Flitwick didn't leave the small piece of swamp as a "f*** you" to Umbridge, he left the whole swamp for as long as she was at Hogwarts, as did the other competent teachers, who all pretended to be helpless and left Umbridge to deal with it. Only after Umbridge was gone did they get rid of it, leaving just a little bit in honour of Fred and George.
56:00 Lily isn’t a muggle, she was muggleborn. So she was a witch born to muggle parents, like Hermione (Pudgy was spot on). Remember, in the first movie her sister, Aunt Petunia, says so when they meet Hagrid.
20:14 Hermione has always been a rule breaker, whether she admits it or not lol. Year one, she followed Ron and Harry everywhere they went when they were breaking rules. Same thing with year two, and she even did the whole Polyjuice potion thing. Year 3, she meddled with time over and over to be able to go to more classes, even though playing with time is extremely prohibited in the wizarding world. She's been a little trouble maker since the start lol.
17:23 😂 You two were like two students in the courtyard 😂 then Spartan calls for Umbidges head! 😲😳💀 The ultimate hype man! I'm surprised he didn't pull the Sword of Griffindor from the Hat right then and there 😂😂 I love how immersed you guys have gotten into the world! Great reaction
Love the end Battle of the elements between Brian and Tom, water, fire, a shockwave and turning glass back into sand. The best of the movies imo, for many reasons. For the best wizarding battle of the series, the introduction of Luna and Bellatrix, Umbridge the character u love to hate, Harry the teacher, the Death Eater vs the Order battle, and the character driven story instead of the world driven one we usually get.
It is implied the portal is linked to the "Other Side" much like Thestrals are and it is far older than the Ministry or the building around it. Funnily enough, the Pensive (the memory thing in Dumbledore's office) is presumed to be of the same make as the Portal, as Hogwarts was build on the location of where it was found.
Neville's parents aren't dead, they're insane. They were tortured into insanity and are now both in St. Mungo's Hospital. When Neville visits them. . .they don't even recognize him.
According to Potterheads (mostly), Dolores Umbridge is the most hated character in this film than Voldemort 🤣 she knows how to get inside your nerves 🤣
The "portal" as you called it was called "The Veil" in the book. Not much is explained about it in the books other than it is some "portal" to the afterlife. If anyone living steps through the Veil they die immediately, but anyone standing near the Veil can hear the voices of all the dead in the afterlife. In the book, Sirius wasn't "killed" per se by Bellatrix, he was knocked off balance by a curse and fell into the Veil and thus he died immediately.
SPOILER FREE. Just some fun facts from the books I thought you'd enjoy and might want to know about. These might help with the coming movies as well. 1) How did Fred and George start appearing out of thin air all of a sudden? It's called ''Apparition'' in the wizarding world. In order to Apparate, you must first pass a test. Think of it as a driver's license. 17 is when you come of age in HP. The twins, now 17, got theirs right away. You're going to see a lot more Apparition from now on :) 2) Where did they get the money to invest into their Weasley Products? Fred and George have been developing their products for some time now, with the aim of starting their own joke shop. Harry didn't want his Triwizard winnings anyway, so he gave them to the twins to start their business, asking them to also buy Ron some new dress robes (so he could get rid of the one he wore to the Yule Ball in the last movie) :) 2) WHERE IS DOBBY AT? In the books, Dobby was actually the one who told Harry about the Room of Requirement. He currently works in the Hogwarts Kitchen as a free elf. House Elves never usually get paid, but because Dobby is a free elf, Dumbledore offered him ten galleons a week with weekends off. Though Dobby wanted to be paid, it was never about the money, so he declined Dumbledore's offer and asked for only 1 Galleon a week :) Fun fact: It's actually the house elves preparing all the food you see during meals at the Great Hall. 3) Dumbledore is concerned about Voldemort making allies with Dementors and Giants like he did last time. Because if Voldemort manages to get Dementors on his side, Azkaban will loose its security entirely, which is why Dumbledore warned Fudge early on at the end of the Goblet of Fire as well; tried convincing him about Voldemort's return, and advised him to rid the prison of Dementor control. But Fudge was stubborn.
I'm absolutely loving the reaction of you guys so far. What you support and what you dislike, very on point xD! You guys are the true Potter fans that just came in a different timeline. This is going to be hype!
56:30 Quick recap of the terms for you: (1) Muggle: normal person, no magic. (2) Muggleborn (aka mudblood): muggle parents, has magic. (3) Halfblood: muggle + wizard parents, has magic. (4) Pureblood: both wizard parents, has magic. (5) Squib: both wizard parents, no magic (not sure if halfbloods without magic count as squibs or just regular muggle) (also "mudblood" is kinda like the 'n' word for muggleborns lol)
As Pudge has explained, Unfortunately they have been warning flagged by TH-cam for possible copyright infringement. It's why the Goblet of Fire reaction took so long. It had to be completely re-edited before it could be re-uploaded. The entire middle Yule Ball section from that reaction is missing. They obviously can't take chances on this platform so entire sections must be cut out in order to avoid copyright bullshit.
Yeah, unfortunate they keep cutting out major scenes and whole plot lines. Like someone else said, all other reactors are able to make it work so not sure what's going on here?
IDK if you will ever read this, but there is a difference between Muggles and Muggle-borns. - Muggles are us. Non-magic folk. No drop of magic blood or cannot perform magic at all - Muggle-borns are witches and wizards like Hermione and Lily Potter: born into a Muggle family but have magic abilities Oh and Mudblood: that is a SLUR towards Muggle-borns.
If you like how Ron stood up for Harry in this movie, then back in the Prisoner of Azkaban he actually did the same thing but it was only in the book when they were in the shrieking Shack and they still thought Sirius wanted to kill Harry Ron with his broken leg stood up in front of Harry and told serious that he would have to go through him first before he could ever get to Harry
The quality of the films definitely makes a jump here imo, and it’s neat to see the younger actors develop their talent over the years. Love how into the story and characters you two have become, true Potterheads now lol. I’ll never get over Sirius’ death, just when Harry is really developing that bond 😭
55:18 It's true Draco seemed in awe of Harry in the first movie, but at that point I don't think he even knew Harry was halfblood. He just knew Harry Potter was famous and known to have defeated Voldemort, so that's why he tried to impress Harry by warning him about making friends with "the wrong sort".
Draco's just a social climber, he wanted to be friends with Harry because he's famous, he wanted to use him to boost to his social status basically. Like a little evil version of Slughorn. 😂
There is so much more in the book than in this movie which I wished was not left out. Also in all the books after The Chamber of Secrets, there is some about Doby and later a female elf Winkie. You really need to read the books. One great disclosure in the book is when Dumbledore escapes. You will also learn Cho was not the one who turned them in, but another female which is never in the movie. You will also learn the secret about when the students signed up for Dumbledore's Army. You will also learn how Dumbledore rescued Deloris and what happens to her in the Hospital wing. There were many of the students injured in the battle at the Ministries and they are also in the Hospital wing while Deloris is. Also in all the Books they start at the Durdsly's and many end with them picking up Harry after the school year. The funniest part of this book is how Deloris left Hogwarts.
Some things the movies changed/didn’t clarify: 1. Neville’s parents were not killed, they were tortured into insanity. Neville visits them in the hospital every Christmas, a scene that is witness by the trio while they are visiting a recovering Mr. Weasley. 2. Dobby, not Neville, told Harry about the room of requirement 3. Cho didn’t rat the DA out in the books, it was her friend Marietta. Cho and Harry’s relationship ended because Harry kept praising Hermione, and Cho kept getting jealous 4. Sirius was not killed using the Killing Curse, but because he was struck by an errant spell and fell through the veil, which is a sort of portal to death. 5. As powerful as Dumbledore is in the movie, he is even stronger in the books. He matches evenly with Voldemort, but also with one hand tied behind his back, as he was protecting Harry from Voldemort as well as dueling Voldemort himself.
Bellatrix Lestrange used a cruciatus curse on Nevilles parents to the point where they don't remember him. That's why he had to live with his grandmother, and that's why it bothered him so much to see mad eye using it on the bug in the last movie.
Things in The Order of the Phoenix novel that are not in the movie; Mrs. Fig is a Squib (a person born from a wizarding family but unable to do magic) who was Harry's neighbor for many years. She was even mentioned often throughout the book series. But Harry never knew that Mrs. Fig is actually part of the wizarding community. Harry actually found out about Hagrid being a half giant by mistake during Goblet of Fire. Hagrid's biological mother, Fridwulfa is a giant. Hagrid's father was a wizard. Grawp is Hagrid's brother by way of their giant mother. Ron's brother, Percy had a falling out with the Weasley family. He never believed Harry's story about Voldemort's return and was on the side of the Minister of Magic. Neville's parents are very much alive and are permanent patients at Saint Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies. Because of the massive amount of torture that Bellatrix, her husband and Barty Crouch Junior inflicted on Neville's parents they are mentally damaged. While visiting Mr. Weasley in the hospital Harry, Ron and Hermione come across Neville and his grandmother and was able to meet Neville's parents. The Weasley twins weren't expelled. They quit school. When Harry won the Tri Wizard Tournament in Goblet of Fire he gave his winnings to the twins. Harry originally tried to give it to Cedric's father but he refused to take it. As a result of Harry giving it to the twins Fred and George started using the money to start a side business and made Harry as a secret investor and silent partner. That is why the twins kept inventing all sorts of magical practical joke sweets throughout Order of the Phoenix. When the Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny and Luna flew the Thestrals the majority of them couldn't see what it was they were flying. Earlier in the school year they did learn about Thestrals in Magical Beasts class when Hagrid introduced them to the students. Those who had witnessed death had no trouble seeing them. But the rest couldn't and all they saw was raw meat being devoured by some invisible entities. When the group flew the Thestrals it was as if they were flying on thin air. They can feel the animals but couldn't see them. In the end of the book when Harry talks to Dumbledore in his office, Dumbledore reveals that the prophecy actually came from Professor Trelawney and it was he who witnessed Professor Trelawney make prophecy while she was in a trance. The prophecy was; "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..." Dumbledore said that two babies were born at the end of July. Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. Though the prophecy fit Neville just the same as Harry because Neville's parents also defied Voldemort three times, it was Harry that Voldemort chose to kill instead of Neville. It is believed that Voldemort chose Harry because Harry's mother was a muggleborn. Neville's parents are purebloods. During the last evening at Hogwarts Harry desperately runs to the ghost of Nearly Headless Nick and tries to talk to him about Sirius possibly coming back as a ghost. But Nick tells Harry that the only reason why Nick is a ghost residing at Hogwarts is because he refused to move on to the beyond. He refused to let go and wanted to remain. Nick explained to Harry that Sirius moved on. 📚🪄🔮
According to the prophecy, the boy who was to defeat Voldemort was born at the end of July. Both Harry and Neville were born at the end of July, but Voldemort chose to go after Harry instead of Neville. This made Harry the chosen one to be Voldemort's equal, and we all know how the story unfolds from there.
I promise no spoilers, just want to explain the prophecy and it's importance because the movies botched it. Remember how Profesor Trelawney went weird when alone with Harry in the last movie? Servant (Pettigrew) will be reunited with Master (Voldy) etc she basically tells us what will happen in the rest of the movie. In the book Harry tells Dumbledore about it at the end of course when he finally understood what he heard. Dumbledore laughs and says this would be her second true prediction (ever), which is cool foreshadowing for this movie/ book where we learn Trelawney is the one that foresaw the prophecy and thats why Dumbledore took her in as a teacher, to keep her safe. She however is unaware, her gift is subconscious. The reason Voldy wants the prophecy isn't explained in the movie which baffles me to this day because there wouldn't be a book /movie otherwise. Dumbledore met with Trelawney 16 yrs before to interview her avout the teacher position in a schetchy place (at her request), during the interview she went into trance like the one with Harry, they caught someone eavesdropping and took him away, he only heard the first part. Voldy is convinced what he was told years before isn't complete and thinks it also contains details to help destroy Harry (the supposed secret weapon), the part he missed is most important, and quite ironic. "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies" is what the eavesdropper heard, "the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal" is what he missed and is ironic because the only way for Harry to become powerful enough was to be atacked, have powers from Voldy transfered and vecome his equal. There were 2 boys born at the end of July with parents in the Order of the Phoenix that defied Voldy 3 times, Harry and Neville. The reason Voldy chose Harry brings me to a little side note. At the end of the video Pudgey is correct initially, Lilly Potter was a Mudblood like Hermione, both came from muggles, then there's Half blood and Pure Blood which are self explanatory. While the magic Lilly used was ancient, it was a result of her Sacrifice, not a spell she used, Voldy explained it in the graveyard and Dumbledore at the end of the first movie, Love. Neville is Pure Blood, Voldy chose Harry because he's Half Blood, like himself. Fun to think these could've been Longbottom books. In the wise words of Master Oogway (Kung-fu Panda) One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it 🤯
7:55 It isn't shown in the movies, but in the books, they cast a spell that makes their bodies appear translucent so that you cannot easily distinguish them from their surroundings. The muggles looking to the skies would just see a blur against a starry/cloudy sky. The movies skip this for brevity and to give you a cool "flying alongside them" feeling with the camerawork.
Harry and his friends going to the ministry and the ensuing battle in the department of mysteries is just so iconic to me and remains one of my all time favourite moments in the series. My younger self vividly remembers it and I'm always overcome with nostalgia when I rewatch it
It's one of the worst scenes for me, can you believe it? lol The spells they used in the books were so cool and eccentric, but in the movie they only use the basic ones.
@@erikperhs_ I was firstly talking about the books because I read it first, it's obviously better but I think the movie did a good enough job as a cinematic experience
Remember that in the books is stated that Dumbledore is the only one that Voldemort has ever feared. In terms of power, I'd say that Dumbledore is a bit stronger but the fact that Voldemort uses dark magic (and in the next movies you'll see better what kind of dark magic) gives him a little advantage
@@erikperhs_ Yes Voldemort is ignorant of magic he deems lesser than what the dark stuff can do. Dumbledore knows as much as he does in that regard but would never stoop to that level and knows that dark magic will never be as strong as many stuff from the light.
In the book, Dumbledore does not want to look Harry because he know that Voldemort is able to spy him through Harry, and doesn't want Voldemort know Harry & Dumbledore are close
Also, Neville's parents wasnt killed, they were driven mad after so much torture.. On the train station scene Sirius tells Harry that they suffered a destiny worst than death... They doesnt remember who they are, not even his own son... The saddest thing is that every time Neville's comes to visit them at Saint Mungus (they live at the wizards hospital) her mother gives him a candy wraping for no reason, with a smile on her face, instead of throwing it away he saves every single one of them as a treasure.. His story is very sad it gets me tearing up just thinking about it
Pudgey was right, they're called unforgivable curses. There's 3: avada kedavra (which killed Sirious), crucio (which Umbridge was going to use on Harry to get information out of him since it tortures people) and imperio (which controls people)
54:50 You're confused about what muggle means. Muggle simply means non-magical. Harry's mother is not a muggle. She is muggle-born, which means she was born to non-magical parents, just like Hermione. Harry is not a half-blood. He is a pure blood because both his parents were wizards. You haven't met Hermione's parents yet, but you briefly will, for literally 5 seconds, so please pay attention because there is a little surprise there. Blink, and you'll miss it!
Harry's mom is like Hermione in the sense that both of her parents weren't magical, but she was, which is why Harry's aunt resented her, as well as him.
The real reason why Petunia resented Lily or at least acted like she did was because they were close but when Lily got her Hogwarts letter Petunia wanted to go with her but she didn’t get a letter she even wrote a letter to Dumbledore asking to be accepted to Hogwarts but was declined which enraged Petunia we see later on that Petunia didn’t really resent Lily from that deleted scene coming up in a couple movies but was in the books.
1:00:27 Fun fact, Harry Potter was the first franchise that split the final instalment of a series into 2 parts. Everyone else just copied them. I think the 2 parts of HP was justified, but that the vast majority of franchises that did the same thing later were just grabbing for more money.
@@ptitepeluche05 I'm of the opinion that the earlier films should have been longer so it's hard to disagree. The first Harry Potter books is the shortest by far, and its film adaptation is one of the longest with over 2 hours. It doesn't make sense that as the books get longer, the movies get shorter. So much stuff was removed. When you watch The Half Blood Prince, you do not care at all who it is, whereas in the books you are super invested in finding out who it is. *DON'T FORGET, NO SPOILERS FOR S & P WHO HAVE YET TO FINISH THE SERIES.*
You should really look into what the twins actually did to terrorize Umbridge and the Inquistorial squad. You would love them even more!! They just called it Dumbledores Army as a joke. Sirius told them that Minister Fudges biggest fear was Dumbledore creating his own force to go against the ministry.
I love how you guys cut out all the parts with Luna showing up and finding Harry on the train, as well as the Thestrals.... so when she showed up in the room of requirement at 29:33, I forgot she finally showed up this movie... she's honestly one of the best late addition characters, so it is unfortunate she was cut.
I always appreciate your enthusiasm and openness towards the projects you watch. Umbridge is the most hated figure in Harry Potter because she's realistic. She's not a literal monster or twisted by dark magic, she's someone who exists for many people and this film shows what happens when such a person gains power. I really struggle to watch the actor in anything else because of her portrayal here (props to her performance).
"Harry's gonna teach them? What?" Why not? Harry is a powerful, intelligent and resourceful wizard with the most experience in combat or stressful situations and he's a symbol against voldemort, the boy who lived. Bellatrix didn't kill nevilles parents, she tortured them to insanity
2:48 the films dont really convey that from the end of book 4 and all the way through book 5 Harry is suffering from fairly bad PTSD and (unlike movie Harry who enjoys playing a crowd) book Harry does not like any attention at all. I also want to point out that the 5th book is FOUR TIMES longer than 1st book but the 1st movie is 14 mins longer than the 5th, hopefully that helps you understand how much is missing from the films.
THESE JUST KEEP GETTING MORE INSANE! Dumbledore Vs Voldemort was EPIC!!

In Movie version they show Dumbledore very less powerful. Here is the book version in short. Please read it
“But Master - he is here - he is below -”
Voldemort paid no attention. AVADA KEDAVRA!”
Harry had not even opened his mouth to resist. His mind was
blank, his wand pointing uselessly at the floor.
But the headless golden statue of the wizard in the fountain had
sprung alive, leaping from its plinth, and landed on the floor with a
crash between Harry and Voldemort. The spell merely glanced off its
chest as the statue flung out its arms, protecting Harry.
“What - ?” said Voldemort, staring around. And then he
breathed, “Dumbledore!”
Voldemort raised his wand and sent another jet of green light at
Dumbledore, who turned and was gone in a whirling of his cloak;
next second he had reappeared behind Voldemort and waved his
wand toward the remnants of the fountain; the other statues sprang to
life too. The statue of the witch ran at Bellatrix, who screamed and
sent spells streaming uselessly off its chest, before it dived at her, pin-
ning her to the floor. Meanwhile, the goblin and the house-elf scuttled
toward the fireplaces set along the wall, and the one-armed centaur
galloped at Voldemort, who vanished and reappeared beside the pool.
The headless statue thrust Harry backward, away from the fight, as
Dumbledore advanced on Voldemort and the golden centaur can-
tered around them both.
“You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?” called Voldemort, his
scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. “Above such brutality,
are you?”
“We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man,
Tom,” Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk toward Volde-
mort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had
happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life
would not satisfy me, I admit -”
“There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” snarled
Voldemort.
“You are quite wrong,”
“Indeed, your failure to un-
derstand that there are things much worse than death has always been
your greatest weakness -”
Dumbledore never failed down in book version. Voldemort was nervous entirely while face Dumbledore. Voldemort go inside Harry coz he failed to face Dumbledore.
You guys need to react fantastic beasts after finishing harry potter. It's an another story but has young Dumbledore in it
SpartanandPudgey Here is the prophecy as it appears in the books:
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies...."
This prophecy could have applied to either Harry or Neville.
You say that Voldemort isn't waiting but he cares about Harry's education as he always waits until the end of the year to attack him
She tortured them so horribly that they could not take it anymore and lost their minds because of the pain
damn never knew they didnt die so just turned to Vegetables pretty much ey?
@@Kevin.Costner. Yeah. They were placed into St. Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, long term spell damage.
Movies didn't have enough time. I can kind of accept it for Lupin's character. I will never accept what they did to Ron and Ginny.
Love how Harry wears a cardigan when teaching like Lupin
I know, that part is always heartbreaking
Yea that conflict between harry and lupin in the books in deathly hallows is always to impactful to me
“it was foolish of you to come here tonight, Tom” is the most KILLER line in the series. Also in books, Dumbledore is just testing himself against Voldemort and rolls him while holding off Bellatrix and protecting Harry all at the same time.
That entire scene must of hit In Cinema experience like Crack during the time For people that got to enjoy
They actually nerfed Dumbledore in this scene, he absolutely owned riddle in the books who finally had to resort to possess Harry to stop Dumbledore.
It is not really explained in the movies - but Sirius had 3 cousins - the Black sisters:
- Belatrix who married the Death Eater Rodolphus Lestrange we met already
- Andromeda who got disinherited for marrying the Muggleborn whizard Ted Tonks - Nymphadora Tonks from the Order is their daughter.
- and Narcissa Black who married Lucius Malfoy - Draco's mother.

I haven't read the books, so this is the first time I've seen this properly explained
So Nymphadora is Sirius's niece? That's so cool :o

Umbridge is the kind of villian that exists in the real world as well, that is what makes her so terrible
It's the kind of villain JKR has turned into
And all of them go into politics. Anybody who reads Books 5, 6, and 7, and still blindly believes the government and media is an idiot.
Umbridge reminds me of Nurse Rachet from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Another villain who is scary because you know people like her really exist.

Even I missed it for the longest time (Tbf I was like 12 when I watched it the first time lol) until I rewatched it like a year or two ago. It’s tough because it’s such a short moment so it’s easy to miss + you have to actually know how crucio works to fully appreciate it at all.

Some facts from the book:
- Hermione uses enchanted coins so that all members of the DA could communicate between each other using the letters etched on the coins.
Here's a little fragment of their interaction:
“You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?' called Voldemort, his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. 'Above such brutality, are you?'
'We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,' Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk towards Voldemort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit -'
'There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!' snarled Voldemort.

Yes it was, learn to recognise that things are different between adaptations.
It was in the movie . And since he was dead from the killing curse he then passed through the veil. You’re right in the books it wasn’t the killing curse but it the movie it is.
Sort of makes you wonder why this veil is just chilling where someone could just fall in. Why do they have that?
@@mhernandez1345 Maybe the veil isn't put there, maybe it is part of the space that they couldn't move, so they build around it? (just my own theory)
Want to hate Umbridge even more? in the books she confesses to Harry that she was actually who sent the Dementors after him at the begginning
Why’d she do that?
@@BumFluffer1999 I dont remember entirely, but I think it was something about her thinking Harry was making a fool of the ministry and she wanted to shut I'm up
It was to try and get Harry expelled, because she knew he would use magic against them.

And she banished him from the quidditch team! In the book she really sucks even more!

Neville's parents are alive, in the wizard hospital. They were tortured into insanity by Bellatrix using Crucio. That scene was sadly cut.
Dead."
I don’t think that is in the book or the script but an ad lib from Gary oldmen
Voldemort raised his wand and sent another jet of green light at
Dumbledore, who turned and was gone in a whirling of his cloak;
next second he had reappeared behind Voldemort and waved his
wand toward the remnants of the fountain; the other statues sprang to
“Above such brutality,
are you?”
“We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man,

mort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had
happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life

Voldemort.
“You are quite wrong,”
“Indeed, your failure to un-
derstand that there are things much worse than death has always been

Dumbledore never failed down in book version. Voldemort was nervous entirely while face Dumbledore. Voldemort go inside Harry coz he failed to face Dumbledore.
I think fighting in the books was more about actual "magic" as how we usually imagine it , like Disney-ey magic, manipulating physical objects, transformation, teleportation etc. while in the movies it's more like "big laser beams hitting each other"

I liked how harry calls her out for that in the books, wished it was shown in the movies as well
Yeah it’s using an already established hate in a group that feels hard done by to rally followers eg hitler, trump etc

Your wording made it sound like Sirius got drawn into the veil because of the voices.
that giddy excitement spartan had when Dumbledore showed up to help trelawney was so great to see. they've fallen fully in love with this series and im so glad to see it
I've never seen Pudgey this deeply annoyed by a character and I'm loving it.
Idk, her annoyance towards the OG Sneaky Snake was more imo
she's one of us one of us one of us XD
Your absolute glee towards Dumbledore throughout this whole movie was a joy to watch. 😊
"Magic is freedom. And this isn't freedom."
THIS IS exactly why I love these reactions so much. Y'all actually GET it. ❤
Am i wrong?
@@GaetanoDVSTchillax lol
@@GaetanoDVSTso Pudgey is a Slytherin? Nothing wrong with that! 😂❤
@@ziva9266This. It was the act of self sacrifice that invoked the ancient protective spell, not some specific spell cast by Lily
@@MommaMo373 Harry is a half-blood.
Best lines from Pudgey. 16:46 "magic is freedom". 23:15 "thats right, SUFFAH"
Pudgey is so Hermione coded. She doesn't miss much!
She’s so smart. She already got a few future things right 😉
20:14 Hermione has always been a rule breaker, whether she admits it or not lol.

From the book: Umbridge admits that she had sent the dementors who attack Harry and Dudley.
Love watching you guys, so happy you did this series of films!
Everyone afraid of saying Voldemort name
G Dumbledore: *Hello Tom*
The "portal" as you called it was called "The Veil" in the book. Not much is explained about it in the books other than it is some "portal" to the afterlife. If anyone living steps through the Veil they die immediately, but anyone standing near the Veil can hear the voices of all the dead in the afterlife. In the book, Sirius wasn't "killed" per se by Bellatrix, he was knocked off balance by a curse and fell into the Veil and thus he died immediately.
Think they just needed to cement that he was dead for the audience vs take time to explain the veil.
You're going to see a lot more Apparition from now on :)
2) Where did they get the money to invest into their Weasley Products?
Fred and George have been developing their products for some time now, with the aim of starting their own joke shop. Harry didn't want his Triwizard winnings anyway, so he gave them to the twins to start their business, asking them to also buy Ron some new dress robes (so he could get rid of the one he wore to the Yule Ball in the last movie) :)
2) WHERE IS DOBBY AT?
In the books, Dobby was actually the one who told Harry about the Room of Requirement. He currently works in the Hogwarts Kitchen as a free elf. House Elves never usually get paid, but because Dobby is a free elf, Dumbledore offered him ten galleons a week with weekends off. Though Dobby wanted to be paid, it was never about the money, so he declined Dumbledore's offer and asked for only 1 Galleon a week :)
Fun fact: It's actually the house elves preparing all the food you see during meals at the Great Hall.

(4) Pureblood: both wizard parents, has magic. (5) Squib: both wizard parents, no magic (not sure if halfbloods without magic count as squibs or just regular muggle) (also "mudblood" is kinda like the 'n' word for muggleborns lol)

Why do they skip such big scenes? I was so confused why the entire first 10 mins of the movie is missing from this too
As Pudge has explained, Unfortunately they have been warning flagged by TH-cam for possible copyright infringement. It's why the Goblet of Fire reaction took so long. It had to be completely re-edited before it could be re-uploaded. The entire middle Yule Ball section from that reaction is missing. IDK if you will ever read this, but there is a difference between Muggles and Muggle-borns.
- Muggles are us. Non-magic folk. No drop of magic blood or cannot perform magic at all
- Muggle-borns are witches and wizards like Hermione and Lily Potter: born into a Muggle family but have magic abilities
Oh and Mudblood: that is a SLUR towards Muggle-borns.
Gotta love the hatred manifasting on your faces every time the little pink monster appeared on the screen lol!

ooo I am LOVING how quickly these reactions are coming out!
“It’s like the not knowing is manifesting” Yes pudgey exactly! Love how you caught on to that brilliant as usual chefs kiss
Why was the beginning with Dudley being attacked by a dementor cut out?
The funniest part of this book is how Deloris left Hogwarts.
i Love the editing Styles / jokes 😭😭 Hermione saying "Unforgivable" Replaying at the end reaction Discussion 🤣
Some things the movies changed/didn’t clarify:
1. Neville’s parents were not killed, they were tortured into insanity. Neville visits them in the hospital every Christmas, a scene that is witness by the trio while they are visiting a recovering Mr. Weasley.
2. Dobby, not Neville, told Harry about the room of requirement
3. Cho didn’t rat the DA out in the books, it was her friend Marietta. Cho and Harry’s relationship ended because Harry kept praising Hermione, and Cho kept getting jealous
Things in The Order of the Phoenix novel that are not in the movie;
Mrs.
In the end of the book when Harry talks to Dumbledore in his office, Dumbledore reveals that the prophecy actually came from Professor Trelawney and it was he who witnessed Professor Trelawney make prophecy while she was in a trance. The prophecy was;
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."
Dumbledore said that two babies were born at the end of July.
In the wise words of Master Oogway (Kung-fu Panda) One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it 🤯
thank you for explaining this! clears some stuff up for us. and we appreciate your very generous super chat 🙏🏼❤️
I love that you don't edit out mistakes you make. It's much more entertaining and real to watch you not get it all at once.
My younger self vividly remembers it and I'm always overcome with nostalgia when I rewatch it
It's one of the worst scenes for me, can you believe it? lol
The spells they used in the books were so cool and eccentric, but in the movie they only use the basic ones.
@@erikperhs_ I was firstly talking about the books because I read it first, it's obviously better but I think the movie did a good enough job as a cinematic experience
I can see the life draining from Spartan's face as Umbridge speaks lmao. Feelings are mutual sir!
Dumbledore is far stronger than Voldemort for various reasons. The films just did a poor job portraying it.
@@withxoutxlifeDumbledore can do a lot more than Voldemort, but there are a lot of things he refuses to do. That nerfs him a little bit.
There's 3: avada kedavra (which killed Sirious), crucio (which Umbridge was going to use on Harry to get information out of him since it tortures people) and imperio (which controls people)
I'm really enjoying your guys reaction to the franchise. I'm so glad you uploaded early this week. Another great reaction
And they should have done 2 parts for goblet of fire too in my opinion !
Harry: "we got one thing that Voldemort doesn't have"
Pudgey: "eachother?"
Me: "a nose"
Everyone afraid of saying Voldemort mané
G Dumble: *Hello Tom*
So happy you recognised Tonks (later Osha)!
There are 10 other HP actors you might recognise from GoT/HoTD...
What?"
Why not?
