If you want to avoid expensive shipping due to us living in Australia, here is a little work around on Amazon (can do the same on ebay using www.ebay.com.au) which some people have used and made it a lot more affordable. We just wanted to share this with those who this may concern.
1. Go to top right of Amazon homepage where it has your country flag and language showing
2. Click change country/region on dropdown menu
3. Change country to Australia
4. Amazon page will change all products to those in Australian warehouses. Put items in cart, send to S&P PO box address as you normally would. Should be minimal shipping because its shipping from within Australia

Movies 4-8 are probably all top 10 best movies of all time. GOAT series
i promise, by your final reaction review of the entire series, quote me on this, you will COMPLETELY understand why the world of Harry Potter is so loved, famous, and celebrated.
Ich wollte fragen kommt nach harry potter fantastic beasts und wann kommt the witcher season 3
In the book, there's a funny scene where the Weasley twins enchanted snowballs to pursue Quirrel and hit him at the back of his head. It becomes even funnier once you realize that they were actually hitting Voldemort.
What’s sad about what the boys see in the Mirror is that each wants what the other has. Harry wants loving parents & a family. Ron wants fame & recognition.
Ron doesn't want fame. He just wants to be better than his brother is at something. All the achievements he saw himself having in the mirror were achievements that his brothers already had accomplished. His desire was to stand out from his brothers, who he was always in the shadow of.
Yeah, can't imagine how hard it must be to be the youngest of that many brothers. I know Ginny is younger but at least she's the only daughter and the baby of the family, you can see in the books quite a few times when Ron is left with hand-me-downs from his brothers or is just generally outshined by them.@@theshadowfax239
@timr6318 Yeah, that was the reason for...well book 4 without spoiling anything.
@@theshadowfax239Still that is recognition of a kind specially knowing that your mother always wanted a daughter, even Voldemort points that out once in the story
No it's more than that, bc Ron just wants to be seen. (No movie spoilers, ft. Weasley lore) - He's an 11 year old boy who is just "another Weasley" as the Sorting Hat and Malfoy say. Bill was **Head Boy** and a prefect, and he's a curse-breaker by the time Ron arrives at Hogwarts, Charlie was a prefect and a **Quiddich Captain** who is a Dragonologist (Ron mentions him when Norbit hatches), next; Percy is already an academic and a prefect in this film and was given new robes and his own owl for this achievement (a massive, massive spendature for the Weasleys), Fred and George are Beaters on the Quiddich team, they're sociable and charismatic and popular already, and then comes Ron. He's a little boy who just desperately wants to feel special for once, not a part of the nameless crowd. He saw, by his first year, his three oldest brothers make 'names' for themselves at Hogwarts with these huge achievements, he saw the way his parents celebrated and rewarded this also. He's also in the horrible spot of being the fifth son when Molly so desperately wanted a daughter, and it's very likely that he noticed the way Ginny was possibly doted upon when she was born. Ron has always been lost in the crowd, wearing his brothers clothes, being "a Weasley" not "Ron", he's the younger brother to wild twins and the elder brother to a long-awaited daughter, so really no one had much time for *just* him. He's only a kid, and he really thinks that he needs to outdo his brothers if he even has a chance of being someone worthwhile. It's so fkn sad man and I'm not even a Ron stan half the time
Spartan..."I wasnt in to Harry Potter...that was more of a nerdy thing"...then proceeds to list a bunch of nerdy stuff 😂😂😂
lol yeah starting with dragonballz. Only nerds get to say that.
He said that the *chaaracter* Harry Potter was nerdy, and that he gravitated more towards the warrior type of character
He said Harry was a "nerdy *kind of guy* " not that Harry Potter the franchise was a "nerdy thing" and that's why he didn't like it. All the other nerdy things he listed were exactly what he wanted- "warrior types" so fighters like in DBZ, Avengers, etc.
@@AllTheArtsythat sounds dumb and doesn't make sense, Harry Potter is far from being nerdy. He's not a booksmart character or a know it all like Hermonie.
@@Laruto722Harry was the warrior type, Hermonie was the booksmart. His comment is as dumb as your defense of his.
It's interesting to note that Nicholas Flamel is the only real life, historical person mentioned in the Harry Potter stories. His house still stands in Paris and is now a restaurant. I had lunch there on my last trip to Paris. With the popularity of the books and movies, they have a Harry Potter menu for children.
I was gonna say that with Spartans interest in anime I was surprised that he didn't recognize the name. I don't know if he has watched FMA
Even if he has, it's set in a while different world so it's not like he'd recognize a real world alchemist from watching it.
Perenelle Flamel(1320-1397) is also mentioned by name in the books, and a real person.
Spartans IQ raising to the max during the Quidditch scene was gold !
I laughed out loud at that part!😂😂😂
I came here to say the exact same thing. lol
Too funny! 😂
I was thinking pyrite. Don't really know him, but if he is also the editor who added that, it does make it a bit suspect.
Exactly!! He was on intelligent guessing rampage! On point! Cooool!
I care about you not getting spoiled on Harry Potter more than game of thrones ...

We are doing everything we can do to remove all sorts of spoilers or hints
i second this !
Yes! No more looking up actors! These movies are so old that spoilers are everywhere without you knowing it.
If they avoided spoilers this long (for the most part), I have hope!!
@@Gurra88 Can somebody remove this spoiler post please?
Why are people so desperate for attention that they purposely post spoilers under a comment about not posting spoilers? 🙄
the fact that you picked up on the turban guy and snape being in the same frames is insane
prewatched obviously
@@bobtony6036is that confirmed or are you just assuming nobody can pick up on it on the first viewing? It's harry potter. A lot of the shit they do is in your face. Not subtle. Turban man being in frame was not subtle.
@@bobtony6036Harry Potter, especially the earlier books/movies, was very much aimed at young children. There are lots of moments purposefully put in for people to make assumptions and work out the truth. The movies emphasise this far more, by virtue of actually being able to see it.
Quirrel being the bad guy was one of these moments. It’s to allow people to either realise it ahead of time and wait to see if they were right so they feel vindicated, or it allows people to work it out when the main characters do.
Just because someone was able to guess the plot twist doesn’t mean that they have already read/watched it. It just means they noticed something odd and kept a closer eye on it.
Besides, they admitted to having seen the movie when they were kids. Chances are they could have just subconsciously remembered what happened.
And I’m not surprised they were able to pick up on it. Watching it as an adult, it would be far easier to guess the twist as it’s not exactly subtle. It passes by children a lot more easily.
@@johnkittzCan't speak for this couple, but there are some that deceive the audience with "first watch" reactions because the engagement and views farmed from fandoms are easy as the fandom is always looking for new peripheral content to consume. Its an easy hack to boosting your algorithm and channel growth. One example is a Mentally Gone Reacts who are currently going through first watch HP episodes and when someone pointed out that they had a podcast episode discussing indepth HP theories and movies from 2 years ago they deleted the video and renumbered their podcasts. It's actually archived on Listen notes where you see for yourself. With the knowledge that these are very easy view farming fandoms and the larger channels have supposedly never watched any popular movies with significant fandoms it becomes increasingly sus. Again, can't speak for this channel, but many are doing this for the obvious incentive to pretend as if they hadn't watched these yet and then when reactors clock details well above the average person and consistently people like the guy above will presume its been watched already and they're farming.
@@CobraXXVI I just went and commented on their (Mentally Gone's) CoS vid to see just how quickly they're going to delete it. Such scummy behavior
Yes in the book Hermione knew how to take care of Devil's snare, the only issue is she panicked and Ron stayed cool and reminded her that she's a witch and she doesn't need wood to start a fire
Best part in the first book.
"So light a fire!" Harry choked.
"Yes - of course - but there's no wood!" Hermione cried, wringing her hands.
"HAVE YOU GONE MAD?" Ron bellowed. "ARE YOU A WITCH OR NOT?" 😂
Yeah they do Ron dirty in the movies.
@@crazyape515all the directors were creeps and loved Hermione a little too much.
Damn book snob everywhere gatekeeping tge fandom. 🙄🙄🙄
@@RonLarhz well considering the fact that if we didn't have the books then we wouldn't have the movies because the movies came after the books not the other way around
I was a school librarian when the books were published. I thought my kids will love this book. My daughter refused to give it a go because it was “too popular”. It couldn’t possibly interest her. Fast forward to the 4th book coming out - one Friday during Christmas break my daughter was bored and looking for something to fill the void. I said “well, you could try the first Harry Potter book”. She did and devoured all four books before the weekend was done. Turned into an enormous fan and was there at midnight when all the other books were released. So I get the “too popular - not interested!
I never understood what 'too popular' means as a reason with not engaging media/books
@@baron6797 Me neither. To me it screams that the person is very insecure as they define their uniqueness over something as irrelevant as how popular the media they consume is. It's honestly just sad. I love a bunch of very niche bands that have smaller followings... but I also like Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. Their popularity never stopped me from liking them.
What an odd logic.
@@baron6797 Most people have terrible tastes, and things that have mass appeal have to play to the lowest common denominator.
True. Nike is unquestionably the worst shoe and sportswear brand on earth. Objectively horrible. But the masses love it of course. @@fakecubed
This is going to be a fun adventure!
We are BEYOND excited for this 🔥
Ironic you said "Dumbledore dont die on us" But the original actor who played him was replaced i believe because the actor died. And the replacement actor who played Dumbledore in most movies passed away today itself RIP
Yes. New Dumbledore actor passed away few hours ago 😢😢
RIP Alan Rickman, excellent in so many movies! From Hans Gruber in Die Hard to Severus Snape in Harry Potter, thanks for everything!
And Michael Gambon
And several others such as both of the Dumbledore actors and Narcissa Malfoys actress
Alexander Dane in Galaxy Quest.
And robbie Coltrane who played hagrid.
Not to mention The Sheriff of Nottingham. "Robin Hood, Prince of thieves", Kevin Costner.
Do not take the writing at face value! The first movie is definitely the simplest cause it was very much targeted towards middle-graders but the HP book seires overall is one of the pioneers of tricky media/writing in fantasy. So get your thinking hats on as you proceed with the movies especially the later ones. Love the initial theories already you will get answers in time...
"Theres more to him" is the most accurate characterization of snape ive ever heard lol. Great reaction as always and i cant wait for the rest!
Yes, you need to do the house sorting!
My prediction Spartan: Gryffindor and Pudgey: Ravenclaw
Cmom man, I would like to welcome one of them to the 🐍 team lol
Nailed it *thumbs up
Pudgey is Hufflepuff
@@LSG101097 I can see Pudgy in Ravenclaw (intellect) or Hufflepuff (friendship, creativity). I can see Spartan in Griffindor (bravery) or Slytherin (ambition).
pudgey is SO hufflepuff xD
Argus Filch (the caretaker) is played by the same actor (David Bradley) as Walder Frey. When you mentioned the hat sounding like him I wondered how you would react to him being there a few moments later but then you didn't recognize him 😭 but you got there eventually 😅 but great reaction as always. Can't wait for the rest. You are in for an amazing journey :)
Also some answers to your questions:
In the chess game they probably put Ron on the horse as the knight so they could ramp up the action. In the book he takes the place of the knight just as Harry and Hermione do and he gets slapped by the queen. If they had done that in the movie they would have had to tone down the power of the chess pieces considerably. This way the queen could stab the horse and Ron could be out by falling off.
The wizarding world is not really hidden per se. Of course there is magic involved so Muggles don't stumble upon it but it happens in our world. Hogwarts for example is in Scotland. They use charms so that Muggles only see a ruin with signs that forbid entry or at other points there are charms so Muggles suddenly remember something important and leave or forget altogether what they saw.
The attributes for the four houses are more or less:
Gryffindor: bravery, chivalry, determination (they are like the jock house ;D)
Hufflepuff: friendship, loyalty, hard work
Ravenclaw: wisdom, intelligence, creativity
Slytherin: cunning and ambition
I would say Spartan is definitely Gryffindor, Pudgey is either Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.
The question of why Voldemort couldn't kill Harry will be answered in the future but you are definitely on the right track (I think it wasn't as clear in the movies as it was in the books. I'm sure when we get to that part of the movies someone will clarify it if it doesn't come across).
You getting to know more about Snape's character will be an amazing journey ;D
Friendship is also an attribute of Slitherin, is it not?
@@WhyneedanAliasnot really. I mean they have leaders and their followers most of the time, not really friendship if you ask me
@@resathe6760 Well if I may quote the sortimg hat himself:
_Or perhaps in Slytherin_
_You'll make your real friends,_
_Those cunning folk use any means_
_To achieve their ends._
It reads to me like he's saying that in Slitherin you can make real friends. Obviously that's also possible in other houses but the hat explicitly mentions it with Slitherin
The slytherins are friendly and loyal to their own, very little bullying within the house. But they are not always as friendly towards others (some are of course really friendly). What the sorting hat means that if Harry got into Slytherin he would find friends who would support him, always have his back etc. But he got that in Gryffindor anyway. @@WhyneedanAlias
@@steffi122 The Sorting Hat wasn't adressing Harry though, this was from his song in front of all the students
Both of my children were born in the early 1990s. So when the Harry Potter series came out we shared it together. I'm a huge fan of fantasy and sci-fi so this was perfect for me. I also love to read, so naturally I bought the first book and read along.
The difference in binging through every movie in just a matter of months and having to wait a year for the next movie to come out is amazing. My children literally grew up at the same time as the kids in the movies. So as the movies got more intense and more frightening, my children were maturing enough to be able to watch each movie.
My daughter was still at home when the last two movies came out. By then it was a big deal to go to a midnight opening, the night before the movie officially opened. So that was a night out for my daughter and I. She was a junior in high school when the the deathly hallows part one came out. We had dinner out and then went to the midnight showing together.
Their entire childhood was Harry Potter. We all have Harry Potter tattoos.
I enjoy your reactions and I look forward to joining you on this new adventure
I also suggest you look up the cast of each movie. As the movies progressing more and more of the greats of British Cinema joined the cast. You might recognize a few of them from the first. After the they took off and popularity I think Brits were begging to be in the cast.
I was about a year younger or so than the cast so I essentially grew up with them too!
You're like my mom. She introduced me to reading actual novels through HP. She bought the book the same year the first movie went into production. So I was already finished when the first promo teasers and photos came in. I remember reading magazines and watching E! to get the latest HP movie news.
My mom also introduced my older cousin and a childhood friends, and the three of us were always fighting to read the books when there were only one copy.
I was almost the same age as Harry so it was appropiate reading the books and watching the movies and growing up with the cast and characters. It was such a great part of my childhood and teens, no matter how my classmates mocked me for liking HP lore. It was considered femenine or dumb.
My mom was such a warrior. She was like a scout leader of a group of 7 kids marching through to mall to go to the local theater. We also managed most of the time to buy the prerelease opening nights that were sold weeks before the official release.
I'll always be grateful to my mom. In my culture reading is very rare, and the average reading comprehension of the entire region (latinamerica) is abismal, like second worst region. I felt like it made me more aware, instrospective, analytical and my critical thinking skills grew a lot. And literature became such a big part of my life and will remain like that until I die, I hope.
My beautiful mom also introduced me to Lord of the Rings. This time she bought the book but it didn't interested me at all, I was gettin the pottermania through my veins. But then she brought us me and two younger cousins to the opening nigh of the Fellowship of the Ring and oh my god it blew my brain off.
When the experience finished I was stunned. And I knew I had watched something special so I had to read the trilogy now and so I did. Other big fantasy staple in my life and a gateway to other big dark fantasy sagas. I'm reading through Elric of Melnibone saga and last year I finished Geralt of Rivia main saga.
Mothers like you make life warm and beautiful. Kudos to you and your children. I know your children are well behaved and kind, and that makes all the difference.
Yes, it's the actor that played Walder Frey 😊
If you guys want to know more about the Houses, and get a pretty accurate answer on which one you belong to, there's the Pottermore quiz, which is the official Sorting Quiz. It's a really great one that asks you more than just "what's your favourite colour." Would love to see a video of you guys doing it, or even just at the end of one of your reactions!
Pottermore is no more. Replaced with wizardingworld.
It's not as good as the og sorting.
I am really happy that you guys started this journey of the wizarding world. It might sound ridiculous but I watch your videos to learn English. English is not my first language, so I really appreciate that your reactions have always been so vivid and descriptive of your feelings. I also love that you two sometimes have different perspectives and the best 'real time' discussions. Lots of luv to you guys💗
❤🙏🏼 thank you!
I cry when Neville gets his points at the end.
Nevel's 10 points were the only points he learned all year. Many of your questions will be answered as you traverse the movies.
You guys are quickly becoming my favorite reactors. I don't watch a lot of Movies or TV shows myself, but you guys are literally reacting to 3 of my favorite bits of television in a row. First Avatar, now Breaking Bad AND Harry Potter? Pirates of the Caribbean should be on the list if it is not.
The Pirates trilogy is a must-watch.
I'd rather see them react to Master and Commander if they're going to do an "Age of Sail" film.
Yes to Pirates!!
@@Joe-cm5klFacts! All of them, a lot of reaction channels only watch the first three.
Pirates for sure!
Very excited for you to see the others, the second one is already pretty dark compared to the first one but in my opinion the vibe really changes with the 3rd one. Especially because the actors look way more grown up all of a sudden and the actor for Dumbledore changes because the old one sadly died, rest in peace
The third movie also switched directors. Chris Columbus directed the first two, and he's known for fairly straightforward family-oriented movies like Home Alone and Mrs. Doubtfire. The third one was directed by Alfonso Cuarón, who has a much more cinematic and visually striking style, and for me that difference in the look and feel of the movie is the biggest change. Although Cuarón only directed the third HP film, he really set in place a darker, more grounded tone for the rest of the series.
In my opinion Richard Harris portrayal of Dumbledore is far better than Michael Gambon, i felt an emotional connection to the Dumbledore in the first and second movie because he was very caring and empathetic but then he turned into a confused and strange old man with Michael Gambon, don't know if i'm the only one who feel this way about it
And now they're both gone.
why not just let them experience this themselves though
I love the idea that Dumbledore knows the taste of earwax So well that he’s able to instantly recognize it out of a random sample off all flavors on earth…
I never realized that Hermione got mad at the boys for what happened with Fluffy despite being the one who opened the door until Spartan said something 😂
Well, they were out _because_ of Ron and Harry
Hagrid is def the fun uncle vibe.
I remember the first time I saw him in Krull with a few other supporting actors whom find work to this day.
Two things people rarely notice in this movie. The first is that the bacon Harry is supposed to have cooked looks like it is served raw. The second is that, for a movie about a kid discovering he is a wizard, Harry never actually casts a spell. Everyone around him does, but not once do we see Harry use his wand.
Also, I believe I can answer a question about Harry's wealth. Harry's paternal grandfather, Fleamont Potter, developed a wildly popular hair potion, which he then sold for a massive profit. The money passed on to Fleamont's only child, Harry's father James, and then onto Harry. I suppose the inside joke here is the descendants of the most popular hair tonic in the wizarding world, all had unmanageable hair, as Harry inherits his father's disheveled hair style.
It's British bacon, which is made from the back of the pig. Not American "streaky" bacon that is made from the belly. It doesn't get crispy and brown like American bacon.
I mean we do see him use his wand the first time he touches one, but yes, strictly speaking he doesn't cast anything with his wand in this movie.
As was mentioned below, the bacon in HP is the bacon that's served in the UK, not what we know as bacon in the US. The late comedian John Pinette was talking about bacon he had while in the UK, and he said he knew bacon, but what they served him didn't look right! Sort of like what we call "chips" are known in England as "crisps," and what we call "cookies" are known as "biscuits," though our "biscuits" would be called, soft, fluffy "scones!" What is it they say? "America and England - Two nations divided by a common language!"
Nah James brew magic meth, the hair potion thing is a cover.
Doesn’t he freeze the keys in the 3rd floor corridor?
I was the same age as the actors when this came out & read the first two books before, so it was exciting to grow up with Harry Potter. Still a part of my life now. I literally just bought a Hedwig mug 😂 I remember waiting in line at midnight for book releases & whenever a new movie came out. I think Pudgey is a Hufflepuff for sure (so am I!) & I can see Spartan being a Gryffindor. I could also see Pudgey being Ravenclaw because she’s smart & Spartan having Slytherin attributes like having connections. Comes down to who you truly are. You guys are gonna have a lot of fun watching these movies!!
No way man. Incredible. Harry Potter was the big Avengers thing back on 2011. This series was my childhood, finally decided to read the books a couple of years ago, you can see how the world builds around you as you read, easy read and super enjoyable.
Some explanations: So all people know is that this super ultra powerfull dark wizard whos been spreading terror went to kill a baby, and suddenly he was dead and the baby alive. How it happen no one knows. As you said although Voldemorts body is dead his "essence" is still around, but this is unprecedented even in the magic world thats why everyone believes Voldemort to be gone except for a few of course.
Edit: I've always found Hermione's sorting interesting, as intelligent or matter of fact she is, she's got the stuff to break the rules when its the right thing to do. Unlike Percy.
YOOOOO another killer series on the channel! You've guys been killing it so much 🤩

Movies are okay, but books are the best. I grew up with these books. I remember, as a young kid, reading chapter after chapter late at night because I couldn't stop. The late '90s was the time when kids who never read anything started to read because of these books. It was a worldwide phenomenon. Everyone read them; everyone had them in their house. We were preordering them like the best games today and always waiting for the premiere of the next book in the series to start reading it as soon as possible. For me, the movies didn't live up to the hype, but they started yet another wave of Potterheads. The books are much more detailed and full of lore. I heard somewhere that someone wants to make a TV series out of this source material, and I always thought that it would do much better in a TV series format.
Read the books and saw the movies liked both
honestly, as far as book to movie adaptations go, Harry Potter did pretty good. Ofcourse you can't have all the details from the books in there, but the films are still really well made and stay true to the source material (just that some things are obviously cut out for time reasons).

It's funny that you mention you were reminded of gandalf by dumbledore. Ian mckellen, gandalf actor, was offered the role of dumbledore but refused it because he didn't want to play 2 wizard type characters at the same time
So glad you two are reviewing this series! I really enjoy your reactions.
It’s really cool how you guys are almost clocking all the subtle hints the storytelling is trailing around the corners of your focus
You guys are in for one hell of a ride!!! Enjoy 😇
I'd say Spartan is a Hufflepuff for his loyalty and fairness and Pudgy is a Ravenclaw for her intellect and wit
Great reaction guys, really excited for this series!
Spartan would be upset if he isn't Gryfinndor. Which in itself is gryfinndor energy lol
You are sooo right, lol @@MaskedManatee
I can see Pudgy in Ravenclaw (intellect) or Hufflepuff (friendship, creativity). I can see Spartan in Griffindor (bravery) or Slytherin (ambition).
I am SO excited for this journey that you two are embarking on!
The easy way to know how old a student is in Hogwarts is that it almost matches the school year they are in. You first start attending Hogwarts at year 1 when you are 11 years old. Then year 2 when you are 12. Year 3 at 13 years old. Year 4 at 14 years old. Year 5 is 15 years old. Year 6 is 16. And then your final year at Hogwarts is year 7 when you are 17 years old.
In the wizarding world you are considered an adult at 17 years old as apposed to the normal muggle world where an 18 year old is considered a legal adult.
🏰🪄🧙🏻♀️
Yes!! Literally my childhood. Im also 26 so i was 4 when it started and saw the last 2 in theaters as a teen with my friends. Its a really fun world imo. Not ground breaking but the best witches/wizards ever brought to screen.
Fun fact: The Philosopher's Stone is a real thing in history. In olden times alchemists thought that it would grant eternal life and change lead to gold. Cinnabar is another name for it and is chemically known as Mercury Sulfide, and is the ore from which mercury is refined. Also Cinnabar is the name of a character from "Land of the Lustrous", a story about living gems. That character is made from Mercury Sulfide as well. 😎
OMG i am so excited to go on this journey with you guys! ❤️❤️❤️ hope you will have a blast watching the series
26:43 - Pudgey comming in with her predictions
"Harry Potter was kinda nerdy, I was into Dragon Ball Z" ... I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that... they both fall squarely in the nerd category in my mind
I came to this channel for avatar, and stayed for breaking bad and LOK, and recently I’ve been in the mood to rewatch Harry Potter and now you guys drop this. u guys just somehow keep reacting to all of my favorite things it’s crazy
For context - This film was released the same year as The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) Harry Potter books were published in the 1990s and The Lord of the Rings books were published in the 1950s. So when the Harry Potter movies were coming out The Harry Potter book craze was still in full swing, whereas when the LotR movies came out people had been waiting for such an event for decades.
In the same way that Scream (1996) revived the teen slasher genre, these two franchises revived the fantasy genre which had fallen out of fashion for at least a decade at this point.
Always love to see a new Harry Potter reaction channel on the block! Yay!
FINALLY!!!! I know for sure you're going to LOVE this saga and this is just the beginning!!
edit. about the Hogwarts houses:
pudgey: Hufflepuff
spartan: Gryffindor
:)
Exactly my thoughts about their houses
@@romivr03 i thought pudgey ravenclaw and spartan hufflepuff haha
the development of how the books were written and also the movies changed from the first to the later ones is crazy. It is like J.K. Rowling developed herself while writing the books.
I really like that she managed to avoid larger plotholes in the story. That's why I enjoyed reading the books
Y’all are quickly becoming some of my favorite TH-camrs!!! I just discovered yall a little bit ago and I’m working my way through all your older videos! Love you guys!
The chess scene was changed. In the book Ron is also replacing a part and he is badly hit! They thought it would be too much for a children's movie and it was changed
Hell yea the timing could not be better
This is so sweet. My fiancée and I have JUST started watching the Harry Potter series as well. I, being a complete Potter head, really enjoy watching it with him since he also hasn’t really watched any of the movies yet!
Good fun for all of us~
13:58 In the books, it's made more clear, but iirc muggles don't notice people walking onto the platform because passersby are bewitched to alter their walking path to block people's view the moment a witch or wizard would enter the barrier; so, to anyone who might glimpse it in passing, it would just appear as a trick of the light or their imagination, etc.
Can't wait to see you go through the whole series. It's an amazing progression!
I used to watch Harry Potter when they ran the whole series on Channel 9. Back when that was the norm. I miss the late 2000s/early 2010s
All hail Hagrid, The Mother of A Dragon 😂
Also Hagrid is basically this films Hodor😂
RIP Michael Gambon, Dumbledore 3-8th movie❤
WAAAH JUST CLICKED ON THIS VIDEO AND IM ALREADY SO EXCITED YOU GUYS ARE GONNA COVER THIS SERIES!!!!
Welcome to the incrediblely wonderful rabbit hole of a ride called the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Enjoy it well. 😊
This is the song that the Sorting Hat sings in the book version of Sorcerer's Stone/Philosopher's Stone before he sorted the first year's students into their houses;
"Oh you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"
🧙♂️🧙♀️🪄✨⚡🖤
BTW, I was sorted into Gryffindor and my brother was sorted into Slytherin in the Pottermore (now called Wizarding World) official website. The website was created by the Sony company and the author of the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling. I had to take a fun and special personality test to find out what house I am in.
Go go Gryffindor!
❤💛❤🦁🏰🪄👍
Oh, do not worry. The series gets much more mature and complex from the third movie on. The world-building JK Rowling developed is pretty fantastic, to be fair. There’s so much lore. Also, please make sure to pay attention and catch the details from all the early movies, because everything connects in the end, it’s all important, even things that might feel inconsequential right now.
Although the first two (and even the third) movies are indeed "childish", once you look back (having watched or read the entire series) you realize that the darkness was always there. The characters, being children, didn't recognize it, and they are our lens. If you rewatch, you see new layers. That's one of the reasons I have read the books and watched the movies so many times. It's like, first time watching, you just want to leap into this brilliant and wonderful world... rewatching, you pause frequently to ponder the horror of existing in a world where THAT (whatever you just saw) is a normal thing that happens.
Two things to clarify:
1. It is in fact Walder Frey's actor
2. Hogwarts is supposed to be somewhere in Scotland, hidden from the muggles, yes, but not in a different world.
I love Neville's reaction...having never gotten any points all year for excelling in class...he gets them for his courage ❤
I hope you guys end up taking the official house quiz! :D
These films do slytherin dirty :(
Agree, slytherins are so misunderstood
@@andreveronez7848 Just like dragons
How? The 2 slytherin reactors i came across in yt are both jerks.
Just face it. Most slytherins are jerks. The ones like snape are minority.
You are gorgeous, Laura !
OMG! YES YES. I was begining to worry i wouldn’t have any more shows to share with you guys. Im thrilled you're doing this. Thank you!
Makes me so sad that it's been over 2 decades since it came out. Time really has flown since 2000.
Something that's really fun here is how JKR came up with names. Malfoy, comes from "mal foi", like bad faith in french. Draco, is like Dracula. Voldemort broken up is "Vol de Mort" or "thief of death." Slytherin is obvious. I won't go into too much more bc those characters haven't been introduced yet but she really relies on myths and lore.
Draco is actually like the constellation of the same name (his mother’s side are all named for constellations) and means “dragon”
Also! Vol here means “flight”, so it’s flight from death. Which is pretty fitting lol
@@RiseeRee Both "vol" have the same spelling. It could technically be either but it isn't flight in the sense of getting away. Vol doesn't have that meaning in french. It's either flight of death or thief of death.
It could also mean flight of a corpse, thief of a corpse, flock of a corpse, or flock of death depending on context but those last four are just funny ways of reading that sentence. I doubt JKR used one of these four meanings because they are ridiculous and make no sense with Voldemort's story.
Remember that the house sorting is not about the personality but about what a person values most. Clearly Hermione values knowledge a lot but she is not in Ravenclaw and ended up in Gryffindor because she values bravery above knowledge which is what she said to Harry in the end of the chess game. Knowing that, I think Spartan is Gryffindor and Pudgey Hufflepuff.
You guys are right the Mr. Filch actor also plays Walder Frey in GOT
You put wasted when Ron fell but Rupert Grint, who played Ron, actually got a bit injured when a bit of debris hit his head. xD
Kudos to Pudgey for figuring out that Snape’s dislike of Harry stems from incidents with Harry’s parents, you may be the first I’ve seen of all the reactors to this movie franchise to get that in the first movie!😎👍
and she immediately called Ron-Hermione. She's pretty perceptive
@@Simplenotionnot exactly. It's a trope. Dopey kid that's not so smart ends up with a smart pretty girl. Happens all the time in media.
One of Harry’s ancestors was a famous Potionmaker, and his two most lucrative are two potions we see in the films (Skelegro and Sleakeazy’s Hair Potion). He earned a massive fortune, and Harry, as the last surviving Potter, inherited what was left after his parent’s deaths.
I loved the first 2 movies not because of how childlike it was in wonder it was but because of the time of year it came out in, Christmas time. The main theme conjures up found memories of Christmas time for me.
Just so you are not confused the actor who died 2 days ago, Michael Gambon, played Dumbledore starting with movie 3. Richard Harris who played Dumbledore in the first two passed away shortly after the second movie was finished shooting.
He actually was strongarmed into taking the role of Dumbledore by his granddaughter who was a massive fan of the books.
And as you noted Dumbledore looks like Gandalf, after Richard Harris' passing the producers did contact Ian McKellan (Gandalf's actor) but Harris had little respect for McKellan's style of acting often calling it stiff or mechanical, so McKellan thought it to be disrespectful to take the role of an actor whom he knew would disapprove of him.
Oh I am so ready for this! Let’s go guys. This is not just any series this is THE series.
