- I go to the Crown Grill premium, up-charge restaurant on Regal Princess for my birthday and ..... the food is great, but they do absolutely nothing to celebrate my special day. Disappointing to say the least. Maybe because I'm silver, solo and female? It's not like the restaurant was busy...
I love your gold necklace, and I think it went well with your chocolate brown top. I am sorry your birthday wasn't acknowledged. A bouquet and a slice of cake or a mini cake would have been nice. You had a lovely dinner,and I am glad of that.
So sorry your birthday wasn’t acknowledged but so impressed that you cruised alone! Good for you! And happy belated or happy birthday yet to be! I’m about to be 65, and I would LIKE to think I would have had the hudspah to cruise alone, but I don’t have the physical ability anymore. I do live alone, but I just wouldn’t have the stamina to do a cruise! It was always a bucket list item though, an Alaskan cruise! I always said when I was still teaching it was going to be the first thing I would do when I retired. Oh well, wasn’t meant to be but I can do these things vicariously through folks like you, so thanks! New sub!

I’ve never cruised so I have no input on what they usually do.
We rarely go out to eat because my husband has fatal food allergies but most times if it’s for a birthday celebration they will give you a nice dessert. I’m glad you treated yourself to a lovely meal and some champagne and wine. Happy Belated Birthday 🎂

Happy belated Birthday! Your dinner looked fantastic! Yes I also recently had my birthday on a cruise; and I know what you mean. Am also Silver and Solo and the cruise line (HAL) knew it was my birthday and I DID receive in my stateroom a cute card signed by the Captain and an adorable cupcake with Happy birthday written in frosting on the tray (placed on my stateroom desk). I was happy with that but I agree...No singing Happy Birthday etc. a bit disappointing but I still had a fantastic day and a terrific cruise!

I think it depends on the cruise line. Some have white night, some have orange night. I never worry about it. When celebrity Cruise still had butlers on my birthday, the Butler decorated our cabin, gave me a bouquet of roses, a cake and put rose petals on the bed. It was quite elaborate, but we were also in a suite so I don’t know if they still do that, but it was a nice surprise.
