As a Widow, digital nomad and lover of travel, I like to help people by sharing experiences, tips and advice that might make the difference between you having a good day and you having a great day! Princess Cruises and the Regal Princess took me on a transatlantic adventure that I am sharing with you. I hope you find value from my content and invite you to subscribe to my channel to be kept up to date with all my upcoming content. Thank you very much for your support x
My Husband also passed and i am a solo traveler as well, I did the 18 day trans atlantic on the Island Princess ( much older ship ), Im sure i would have enjoyed the Regal much better, we stopoped in Nova Scotia, Iceland, Ireland and cornwall 2 years ago. I loved it !! thanks for the post !
@@DebbieMorton111 Im not a fan of the island princess,, it was made to travel the panama canal and is one of the older ships, its smaller so made it easy for me to get around,, I am doing a 12 day british isles cruise in august on the Regal, I have been on the discovery which is a sister ship and these are quite large( both royal class ) ,, I enjoy the more mid range size like the Crown or Grand (grand class) , all classes have their plus and minus'. Princess has 4 classes of ships,, check them out
This was a great video. I always wanted to go on a repositioning cruise, and I really want to go on a Princess Cruise. Thanks for sharing your experience. As a nomad, do you have a home base, and if so, where? Do you take breaks between your cruises or have done back-to-back cruises?
I have a domicile address with a friend near where I used to live and she forwards me any mail that i physically need. I have no permanent address that I go back to, I just travel from one fun location to another. I have not yet done back-to-back cruises, but I won’t rule it out for the future.
Very informative video. I've not been on a cruise but have always wanted to try it. Trouble is I am hyper sensitive to motion sickness and worry that even a very slight bit of choppy water would set me off. Definitely no need for a wave machine in that pool 🤣🌊. But otherwise sounded like you had a great time 👍
You might want to start by doing a short Caribbean cruise on a very large ship outside of hurricane season. I think you’ll be surprised by how smooth it is.
Thank you for all the info about cruising! I went on a cruise years ago that was like a 4-5 day round trip. It was fun and lots to do. Just wondering, did it bother you any to not see land for so many days?
I thought it might but it didn’t. We could see other ships in the distance which made me think if something happened, we weren’t isolated in the middle of the ocean. Also, because it was rather cold outside most of my time was spent indoors participating in activities where we couldn’t even see outside the ship.
Hi Debbie. It was good meeting you on the tour in the Azores. Hope your time with your friends in the UK was enjoyable! Good luck with the TH-cam channel. And yes, I fully agree with your assessment of the cruise. The aviation lectures, destination talks and theater shows were all excellent! I also agree with your comments about Allie...our energetic cruise director. I enjoyed the solitude of the sea days and having a chance to get several books read while enjoying the sea air on the balcony.
@@kenelrod4935 it was a pleasure meeting you as well and enjoying all the adventures on our tours. 😂 I will be doing some upcoming videos on my travels around the UK as I had an amazing time.
I am curious what the procedure is on a repositioning cruise when you arrive in a foreign country. Are you on your own to make it to the airport and back home again? Do they provide information and/or transportation to assist your return. Thanks for all your great info.
Great question. You are on your own to get your flight back home. On the cruise I was on they did provide transportation from the cruise to the airport for a small additional fee.
@@DebbieMorton111 yes Royal Caribbean out of south Hampton (London). Their service was poor nearly died of thirst. Way more chaos with tours. Had lots of people pushing and standing near door to get on bus before others. Same with tender boat ride there was squabbling among passengers over standing rather than sitting for stability as suggested. If I had not been on Princess previously I probably would have written cruising off. Also, carnival about 35 years ago out of Miami. From what I remember it was good but only pushed booze nearly died of thirst on that line too. At 21 years old I ended up falling asleep early due to drinking alcohol in the sun. Finally I can say that we went on a cruise with two of our kids oldest 30 and youngest 17. Both loved it. Youngest said teen club was well stocked with current video games he also used gym he had a membership at home so was familiar with protocol and behaviour we expected and was never asked why he was only 17 or where r parents etc. Daughter went with princess back to back Japan/South Korea cruise for her honeymoon a few years later.hubby turned 60 last Sunday so we booked a 10 day out of Houston. FYI from north western Canada

Your energy is so contagious! Watching this video made me so much more excited for my first cruise on the Regal in October of this year! Thank you🤩!
I am excited for you. Since its October, will it be a reposition cruise back to Florida?
@@DebbieMorton111 nope. Leaving Galveston for the first Caribbean cruise after being in the UK all Summer
That will be an awesome cruise. Enjoy!
Hello. Debbie, I was on that cruise as well, and it was an amazing experience. One of my favorites. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it.
I had no idea what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. If this is the Judy who sat with us occasionally it was a pleasure meeting you. 🙏🏼❤️

That sounds like a wonderful itinerary. Now you have me curious about the differences between the older Princess Cruise ships and the newer ones.
