The park is very clean and impressive. They limit the amount of tickets they sell each day to prevent overcrowding so plan ahead and buy your tickets online before visiting. The park is huge so wear comfortable walking shoes. I ticket for Saturday, Sunday or a holiday runs at 500 RMB while a ticket for a weekday is 350 RMB. In USD that is 75 dollars for a peak day and 52.50 for a non-peak day making it the cheapest Disney park. It is the very last stop on line 11 on the metro (subway) in Shanghai so you can easily visit from anywhere you stay in the city. Have Fun!
"oh i think ive got the wrong shoes on.." couldn't he think of anything else to say? It's only a 6 minuet segment for supposedly the best disney park in the world, theres soooo much else they could talk about. He's like my dad when he's trying to act like a kid again and be funny when he isnt.
Great idea! Except Mulan is so culturally and historically inaccurate that it would probably end up offending Chinese people rather than attracting them to the park.
In case anyone has asked the same question: did a little research on how the parks handle portrayals of princesses...Yes, they 'import' white chicks to play the part. Local park goers understand that the princesses, given their origins cannot speak Mandarin / languages other than english; although the actresses are taught some words. Some princesses are accompanied by translators, too. Intetesting, no?
@@Lil_Angry_Bitch That would be one hell of a job. (An awesome job.) To just fly to a different country just to play character at a world renown theme park. 🔥
I went here in May this year 2017. It's very beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I have photosensitive epilepsy so I can't go on most rides. Anything with flashing lights. I was disappointed there were no characters around when I was there. I imagined they would be walking around and we could meet them and take photos but there were none. The food was also extremely disappointing. It was the same thing served in every place just with a different setting. I'm a vegetarian so I had no option but a dried out chocolate brownie.
Hey! Another vegetarian here and Shanghai disney has a ton of options for vegetarians! If you use the Shanghai disney app you can see which restaurants at the park have veggie options and a ton of them do :)
2017 report: Prepare to constantly defend your place in line. Not enough places to sit or rest especially during hot days. Some cast members can be a tad bit shouty but not rude. Rides are great especially Tron and PotC. Food is....it's edible. After the fireworks at night, the place turns into a garbage can though. Pooping and pissing kids out in the open were not present probably because of the insane heat when I went.
Disney world in Florida still the best one! Just the pirates of the Caribbean ride is better than the one in Orlando, out of that only one everything else is way better at Disney Florida America!! Cheers from Germany!
One cool thing to note, if you stay on Disney property (Toy Story Hotel or the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel), there's a second entrance that you can use to enter the park to avoid the large crowds in the main gate! Annnnnd, it's the closest entrance to get to the TRON ride! I posted a video about the park on my channel!
I went there last year and it was so awesome that i never wanna return from there but if i go to China again I ll definitely go there again, best ride was The Pirates of the Caribbean
I think they make Mulan characters as the "centrepiece show" of Shanghai's Disneyland, especially at the "Wondering Moon Teahouse" 5:18 - 5:23. At least they're promoting something Chinese.
I do have to say at the moment this is Disney’s best magic kingdom! I made a video rating all the Disney parks and after a lot of thought the park is better than I first thought it’d be!
Very impressive Disney park!! BUT in general lines, as a conclusion about the Shanghai park, is that you can not find even one classic "cartoon" animated attraction. All of the attractions are from the "live-actors-movies" and not from animated ones. I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing.
Exactly walt Disney world added more parks an tron coaster being build also ,with star wars land , toys story land ,and a nother harry potter lunch coaster . Walt Disney world winning 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
How about making a Disney them park down under? It's much easier to get to Asia yes but for us we speak and understand English so we would like to enjoy the Disney magic here too and not to feel left out on things again like with most pop culture related things.
Sorry to break it to you people, but people pee and sometimes children poop in public here. And there is a lot of cutting in line. Chinese people have a reputation of not having manners, or consideration for others.
Other Disney parks, especially US ones suffer the same sort of problems with other unique ones like people molesting the costumed employees and running around naked in the park.
@@eliseerickson5994 What he say is true about china chinese .They are the worst . Is true. They never change even if they are the last person on earth . Trust me .
The really good news for Disney is latest official report shows this newest Disney land park has already achieved profitability after nearly 2 years of opening. Geeze, that's some super consumer power......
I am sure they will still make a shit ton of money. Disney Hong Kong is 48% owned by Disney. It seems to be working out well for them. Oh, and Disney owns 0% of Tokyo Disney.
This deal was profitable for Disney because of how big a market China is. You know the pattern by this time, it doesn't matter if the Chinese are actively screwing them over be it unfair copyright infringement or out right industrial espionage as long as they can such the rich fat cow of money.
I think if you're looking for that 'Disney Charm', you're not going to find it in Shanghai. - Firstly the staff/cast members and guests do not have the same level of appreciation and understanding of what Disney is about, for example most didn't grow up watching Disney movies or aren't familiar with the characters and stories. It's more so a foreign wonderland filled with fun strange things to them. - Secondly, the magic is only in the detail of the rides and the physical design of the complex, which most guests don't notice, though don't get me wrong - the ride and park designs are breathtakingly amazing. - Thirdly, unfortunately the confronting crowd behaviour, long waiting times, and expansiveness of the complex will tire you out from enjoying what limited magic there is. And so ultimately, if you want a *magical* Disneyland experience, choose any of the other parks: Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Anaheim, etc. Otherwise, Shanghai offers everything else.
Disney should buy the city of Detroit and rename it Disney Michigan and build an entire Disney city! They could buy that city and all the people for a wink and a smile!!!

I've been, it's a pain getting there, but GO just GOOOOOO.
ITS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.
why didnt they just add a MULAN attraction if they wanted to add a little Chinese culture to their disneyland
Angel Vasquez true but mulan is im pretty sure in the disney castle.
I don't know if Disney's mulan appeals to Chinese people as it does to Americans.
Mulan is not popular in china.
Great idea! Except Mulan is so culturally and historically inaccurate that it would probably end up offending Chinese people rather than attracting them to the park.
How about Aladdin? Do you know that Aladdin is actually from China west? search origin of Aladdin, you will be surprised.
If I hit the lotto I would go to every Disney Park in the world.
I've visited California, Florida, Hong Kong & Tokyo (4/6). And so far, Tokyo Disneyland is my favorite.
I have gone to all Disney World parks and I really want to go to Paris and Disney Sea.
Mark Jimenez same here!!! it's my dream to visit all the parks before I die lol
Mark Jimenez you don't need to win a lottery. Ticket to Shanghai is very affordable (500 - 600usd round trip from Chicago, LA).
There is something quite magical about disneyland. I still remember how I felt when at age 13 we went to America to go to Disneyland.

Nah, very interesting.
All Disney and Universal parks in Asia import white actors to play their characters.

Shanghai Disney is better that that in HongKong. Come to Shanghai Disney and have a look at the city.
John Perry no. Now look at their video...shnghai people literally trashed that place. No thank you
John Perry well HK Disney is like 10yrs old compare to this, it’s pretty obvious

Wow amazing
Disney logo Variants, Mulan also same Castle from The Opening Logo.

When you have back problems and can't ride the Tron ride.....
they only tell you after you line up for 2 hours.

why? Because UK is weaker and weaker? and poorer and poorer?

theres a regional one, in france.
