Preseason 2023 - 2024 Chicago Blackhawks vs. Minnesota Wild 9/30/2023 This is my second channel that will focus only on NHL content. My main channel is over here. / @trancexzero
Man I got goosebumps made me remember when in freshman year one of the guys on o-line tore his meniscus and mcl and acl all at once his screams made me vomit that day
Poor kid, I hope his recovery goes well. I did hear that he had surgery to set the bone and it went well, so here’s hoping he can return to the ice one day (even if it’s next season)
Props to the Wild Organization! They literally have St. Paul Fire Department as their event standby. General Public probably has no clue how many SCARY private companies have contracts with professional sports team/venues. And shouldn’t.
Yes I’m a Blues fan and yes I’m a hawkhater but I never take pleasure in seeing someone get injured. Good luck on your recovery young man. Best wishes from STL
@@djvic4uHe’s just trying to make a point. Sometimes we as fans get caught up in the passion for our teams and forget about the human side of things. It’s good to remember these are just kids playing the sport they love.
broke my femur on the EXACT same play when i was 16 and it gave me chills listening to him scream knowing the pain he was in, praying for a speedy recovery for him. absolutely brutal
Same here except off a crosscheck. Leg went numb and was probably about 3 inches shorter and i thought i wasnt sure i was going to walk again. Wishing buddy a smooth recovery.
I wonder if you had to have one of those big ass nails run through your leg, we make those at my job! ugh we had a fake demonstrion of how those things go in, just hammered in brutally straight into the whole femur.
As a hawks fan, love to see the respect and support of the Wild’s team and the crowd. We all support our teams, but seeing someone get injured is never good, so to see Minnesota fans honor Savoie is incredible. Best of luck to both teams this season and praying for a speedy recovery
Absolutely. Yes they play to win and as a referee myself hockey is a physical game. None of them want to see any teammate or opponent get hurt. There's that common respect they have for each other. I had a game once where a player had a similar injury and I was 10 feet away and it got to me
Have we gotten so cold and self absorbed and petty as a society that it's now amazing that people can have compassion on a human who's not a member of their favorite team lol sheesh.
@tyrehn48 we're actually talking about the human beings that play hockey. When one of them has a horrible injury then who is a fan of what team should not be an issue in any way. The fact that it's amazing and brings the warm n tinglies when an opposing fan base recognizes their humanity is a reflection of how cold and self absorbed people have become
There was a twist to it. If you keep watch the slo-mo from 1:14-1:16 you can see his right leg remains limp on the ground when he twists his torso. That looks like either a dislocated hip/broken hip, or broken femur. Both not good and probably extremely painful.
For a hockey player, a fractured femur is far more favorable than a hip fracture. After they align the fracture and stabilize it with orthopedic hardware, the femur will eventually be "as good as new". The other problem Savoie will face is the disruption to his quadriceps muscle or other soft tissue muscles in his thigh resulting from the open surgical procedure. Savoie will need considerable rehab to regain the muscle strength.
I've seen this happen twice in 40 plus years of training. The first time was a former teammate going feet first into the boards at the old Allentown (PA) ice arena. His foot got stuck between the bottom of the board and the ice, and he had a spiral fracture. The second time was at the former Scranton (PA) ice rink. My teammate Lance Landofili went feet first and his right ankle just caved in. When they took his skate off, it folded right at the break.
Oh wow ohh gosh you’re such a good person!! You overcame the massive hurdle of caring about an athlete that’s on another team. I mean how do you do it? How did you attain a heart of pure gold?
accident or not, you got to be careful with stick positioning in these situations, this definitely could've been avoided. I take stuff like this personal after in hs I had a kid take out my legs with his body as we were going hard to the boards in a similar fashion as this. It’s a little different bc I think he’s poking at the puck there and that kid wasn’t playing the puck, they played the body. In this instance, there should've at very least been a tripping penalty and in my case, there should've been an interference bc I hadn't touched the puck yet. I get refs miss things, but if I were sam, I'd be very upset if there wasn't at least a review by the player safety board after this, but this is my own opinion and obviously I have a little biasism against plays like this.
Watch it a few times. I never knew Goligoski to be a dirt bag but holy fuck that looked like it was on purpose. 15+ year career for him tells me he has control of his stick and knew exactly what he was doing. Not saying he was trying to seriously injure someone but he knew what he was doing
I broke my fibula this past February. The yelling/screaming is really all you can do. The pain is so bad, you just want to crawl out of your skin to escape it. Hope he has a quick recovery aft😢 his surgery.
He had surgery to repair his femur and was recovering with the Blackhawks. He’s now recovered enough that he went back to his junior team to continue to rehab. Last time I saw he was just starting to skate again.
How unlucky can the guy get.Puts the brakes on his season, you can tell he is in extreme pain, all players showing concern.I hope he recovers very quickly and has a Super Career.
Ouch. There may be good news in this though. My experience with broken bones (ankle, knee, hip, pelvis, elbow, shoulder etc) has always been the more it hurts immediately, the faster the recovery. It's the breaks that dramaticly swell (white blood cells) with little to no pain that are the worst breaks with long recovery time.
The way he was carried off on a stretcher and not laying flat on his back suggests to me that its a hip or femur broken. Obviously it's speculation on my part but it looked nasty and the way he cried out in pain. I hope I am wrong and he has a speedy recovery.
When all you hear in a quiet arena the screams of a player, your heart drops and your stomach churns....goddamn especially rookies finding their way but on the other hand, not understanding where your feet are moving?
I am just watching this today but I had heard about it a month ago. I’m usually hesitant on watching injury videos but I wanted to see how this young man broke his femur. The femur is the strongest bone in the body and has strength comparable to concrete! Living and working in emergency medicine in Colorado we see a number of femur fractures from skiers and snowboarders. That has got to be one of the worst most intense painful injury a person can go through. My prayers are with this guy and his friends family and hockey family.
