  • What if the movie star you idolized was a puppet? Controlled not by a studio, but by a controversial church with a dark reputation? Tom Cruise's career almost crashed and burned, not because of a box office bomb, but because of Scientology's influence.

@@brendan9218 Well you can have different opinions about this. I believe in Jesus, but I also believe his teaching is and was very different to the teaching of the christian church.
They altered the teaching for the sales of indulges, which would not have worked with enlightment and reincarnation in the trunk.
But for example in the Gospel of Thomas you can still find enlightment, encoded into „I and the father are one“ in the bible, that is Unio Mystica in christian language.
Merging of soul and God, the mystical, spiritual path many christian mystics followed, but church denies to date.
If you are interested google Unio Mystica, nondual Christanity or the Gospel of Thomas.
Or keep believing in the christian church, I don‘t. It‘s a simple teaching to create a powerful empire and attack half of the world with crusades, but I don‘t think it is the truth, like Jesus taught it.
We simply cannot know whether the bible is unaltered after all the power hungry people in the past, that passed it on.
To me Jesus is a mysticsl, spiritual teacher, not the Messias. I love him, I believe in his teaching, but I don‘t believe in church or hell. To me hell is a lie to do the sales of indulges.
Yes there is evil in the world, and yes bad karma comes on everyone doing bad, but hell is a lie to me - at least the eternal version of hell.
You can‘t have a loving father God snd eternal hell at the same time.
Just imagine a msn of a tribe in the jungle, who ne er did anything bad in hid life, but never met with outside people and had zero chance to find Jesus, because he did not see a bible in his entire life in the jungle.
If this person would be send to hell for not finding to Jesus, God himself would be unjust.
Why did he place him in the jungle and the other soul as sun of a preacher? And the next soul as a child soldier in Ghana.
Chances are totally different. If God would send a child soldier indoctrinated and violently risen from early childhood on into hell, it would actually be his own mistake. Why did he put the little child in the middle of a war lord camp?
If you think a little bit about it - most Christians don‘t sadly - you find a lot of plot holes in the story church tells.
In the end the mythology of Christianty is very crazy, too, if you think it through.
He can‘t believe in a loving GOD snd hell at the same time, it‘s madness in my opinion.
A loving God would even give mercy to the greatest of sinners one day. He also played a role. He placed the soul into circumstances which led to everything….
Just imagine Hitler would have been taken into Art academy. Probably he would have become an Artist and the world would have been saved of a lot of trouble.
Don‘t tell me chances to all souls are equal. Just imagine you would have been born among Isis or terrorists without any education.
It would be very likely we all would end up doing evil things born among terrorists.
So God would actually be part of the sin. If he placed the soul into a better wealthy country with peace, the whole life of the little soul goes different.
To sum it up: Eternal hell makes zero sense or would be evil itself.
And if the almighty God would not end it - he is almighty, so he could - if God did not end hell, it would make himself evil.
Because he would tolerate injustice. Eternal damnation for deeds he kind of made the souls slipper into…

Mr. Cruises' abuse of alcohol is what inspired him to gravitate towards Scientology. In its early years, more so today, the religion was marketed as something other than therapy or inpatient treatment. His notoriety helped the organization expand within the entertainment community as he progressed in acting. After decades of indoctrination, he began to see the flaws in the religion but was apprehensive to withdraw.
When more of his relationships faltered, he retreated more within the religion. For the most part, the flaws he had earlier discovered within the religion and himself caused him to seek someone to help share in his melancholy. He may not have been self-aware, but he needed a companion on his journey, and they must be a Scientologist to do so. He became desperate with Nicole, not heeding the organization's precepts, but due to his influence and status, they 'allowed' him to proceed with the nuptials.
Flash forward more than 30 years, and he has become comfortable with his position within the organization. He and the organization could bring each other down if they ever turned on each other. Ironically, the decades of jokes concerning his sexuality were the exact opposite of his true feelings. From all insider reports, he is virulently anti-gay. Whether this is self-hate or a holdover from his catholic teachings is anyone's guess.
Regardless, he has two concerns. One, to ensure the people he loves are taken care of when he passes, and two, to make sure the religion can't destroy him while he is alive. He holds the reigns, so to speak, and they know it. They thought they had created a willing pawn, but instead, a religious capo.

I don't know if i believe in psychiatry much either. Lots of Psychiatrist's are kind of unstable too and many try to brainwash people into believing things that are not true and putting everyone on medication when some people can do just fine with natural remedies and spending time in nature. As far as Katie Holmes, I think she is a little off too. It isn't just Scientology but all of Hollywood that participates in bizarre stuff. Katie left Hollywood and lives in NYC. She didn't just leave Scientology, just living away from Hollywood helps.

Funny how much you understand aboout mental health. A person who has schizophrenia cannot take natural remedies. A person is born with it and its a matter of finding the right medication for the patient. My friend just commited suicide cuz he stopped taking his medicine for depression. He was stable as long as he took the medicine. Yes the area of mental health is still researched only because of the attitude of society towards mental illnesses and lack of funds. Psychiatrists are not sick themselves they are wonderful and help many people. I know cuz I know some of them. I live in Israel althoigh there is a lot of work to be done people here are treated good as we all have health insurance (we all pay it from our salaries) and get good medicine.

    • @mothersgauri4137
      @mothersgauri4137 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@user-jf5db2dv7r Well said. So sorry regarding your friend. What Scientology won't tell you ( and those within the organization don't know themselves) is that there have been many deaths within Scientology due to the fact that they REFUSE to allow anyone with mental issues to receive proper treatment. They "claim" to be the "cure all for everything". But sadly, they cure nothing and many lives have been destroyed by them.
There are bad apples in every field of endeavor, so it's a straw man argument that this person says that
"lots of psychiatrists are......" This person who wrote the comment actually sounds like a typical Scientology
apologist. Hubbard hated psychiatry for personal reasons. Actual doctors saw through his BS and refused
to back him. So, in his narcissistic revenge, he went after them. He was a very sick and twisted person,
but those involved with Scientology are lied to and told he is basically a god. Thousands of people
who were duped by them and finally escaped have spoken out all over the world and have shared horrific stories of abuse, fraud, mind control and ruin. Katie Holmes was smart enough to see through it and thank goodness was able to get out and rescue her child. What Scientology does to children is a whole separate horrific story.
Bottom line.....abuse. Thank you for adding some reality to the discussion. I also have loved ones
with serious mental problems and know exactly what you are saying. To refuse to give proper treatment to those who need it is a cruel death sentence. And Scientology knows this themselves, but being a heartless, for profit scam, they won't say it out loud and they hide behind a team of expensive lawyers to suppress the truth. . In fact, all the "techniques" used in Scientology to supposedly "help" people, slowly eat away at one's "humanness" and people end up as callus, emotionless robots, spouting Scientology rhetoric and slaving away to falsely "save the planet". While Tom Cruise might be a good "actor", as a human being behind the
camera, that is what he has become. People who know him personally and who have worked with or for him know that only too well. And the reason he has never been able to have a lasting marriage....it's all quite clear.

Yes, that is what Scientology believes. It teaches that anything that happens to you is your own fault. And you have to fix it......ONLY through Scientology "techniques". If you are in
a car accident and become paralyzed, even if it was the other car that hit you, it's ALL your fault. And if you
are a victim of rape, it is also completely your fault. Many such victims who tried to speak up and get help were
mercilessly stalked and harassed by Scientology for doing so. It's amazing how such thinking can allow an organization to do just about anything and not have to worry about it. They also don't believe that children are really children....they are adults in little bodies
so if that "grape" is done to a child, it doesn't matter. Their disbelief in psychiatry and mental illness has also led to
some incredibly sad suicides due to people not receiving proper care. I could go on, but the "religion" Cruise believes in has a trail of ruined and destroyed lives to answer for. But Scientology will never take any responsibility
because again, it's all the individuals fault. Amazing how that works out.

Winner of four Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and two National Board of Review Awards, and many other awards to mention world wide. The only mentioning to or reference to Japan was the October 10th, Tom Cruise Day and or possibly the Tsunami Relief fund?

My family worked similar way back then too. Plus I did babysitting we helped with home repairs and learned how to paint interior and exterior. Such great times! I am ever grateful for my parents and love them dearly.
Times were tough 5 children and both parents worked too.
I am grateful for both my parents. They were godly parents who taught us so many things and were kind. Loving and firm in parenting. We were taught values, respect, morality ethics and never an argument was ever done between my parents. One of the things they did was never go to sleep angry. Love was a large portion of everything! They spent a lot of time with us. Playing games. Watching baseball games biking camping. They saved up for a vacations in the Allagany park/ mountains. In Canada at a lodge with a lake. We went to beaches had picnics at local parks too.
We went to boy/Girl Scout camps.
It was amazing how well they budgeted for family time.
Winter sports sledding ice skating making snow people! My dad would make an ice rink in our backyard!!!
Oh I could go on and on 😊

I think he's good in movies. A good actor. However, even if only half of what I have heard/read about scientology is true, I have to question his judgement..his morals. I would question anyone who is so 'fixed' on any religion that it distorts their rationale. I'll still watch his movies though.

I think Tom Cruise is a wonderful actor and I think you’ll always have a great career personally I don’t believe particularly care for him as a person. I don’t think he treats his wives well I don’t think he treats his children right and his personal life seems like it’s in the toilet. But if you’re asking about his acting career, he’s one of the number one actors and every movie that I see of his is always wonderful, just not a great husband or father. I don’t understand if silent is the most important thing in his life why he doesn’t marry someone that is just as radical as him about the religion and maybe he could have a happy life.

I respect Tom for working for what he wanted, but I believe pschological issues made him ripe for a cult like Scientology. He's no different from those men of the 19th and early 20th century that believed that men don't cry. Scientology plays into that, requiring members to suffer, even the pain of childbirth, in silence. Damn shame, but I still hold Tom partly responsible for some of the true harm that cult has caused, because of his vocal support.
