@@TheLastBlackJaguar, not so. These two men are not the authority of what is Scripture saying. See the bottom of this for Job has a message for your day to you as humans are what matter. There was a day when the sons of God assembled. Saturday men on Earth got together and Job was among them and likely leading the assembly to slay an animal to shed its' blood (testifying of a belief, sort of like how Abraham left a pagan religion for one of blood sacrifice for SIN and Abraham was not afraid to add a son to the altar because Yahweh said "the seed of woman will bruise the serpent" while showing humanity blood shed with an animal to cover SIN) and the devil or accuser or Lucifer was there among them. What does that mean? It means Lucifer does not care to inhabit anything unless it gets him closer to what he hates so he can either make it stumble for him to indwell it or so that he can influence someone else to kill it (mighty hunter before Yahweh) so that the Holy Spirit has less influence on this planet. So Yahweh is there to watch the testimony of the belief in "a body prepared before the foundation of the world" as Sons of God are about to slay an animal and Lucifer is there and so Yahweh teased Lucifer by bringing up Job. The one Lucifer is intending to swallow up. In this world there is Tribulation for anyone. The rain of blessings or the rain of curses fall on believers and disbelievers alike. Why would Yahweh bless Esau when Yahweh admits He hates Esau? When Jacob and Esau meet, both are doing pretty well. Job has a fear. Job slays animals for his children continually worried that one of them has sinned since the last sacrifice. Job has ten children (seven boys and three girls) and much property. At the end of the story all things were doubled except the children who all died leaves Job with ten new children (seven boys and three girls). The answer from above to Job here on Earth is that ALL IS DOUBLED, for He is the God of the living and not the dead. In heaven, Job will have 14 sons and 6 daughters and there is absolutely nothing Lucifer can do about it. Jesus did not come to die for trees, dogs, chairs, or oceans. Jesus cares for humans and the promise to Job stands strong that nothing shall take Job or those 20 children of Job. The man was different from that day forth. I'm sure he still lead many Sabbath services as even his friends had to bring animals to Job to slay for their SIN in having talked wrong about Job, but he feared a lot less what Lucifer can do. How about you? When you look at all the churches burned to the ground in Europe since the Arab Spring or how all Islamic nations in the Middle East went from the hundreds of thousands or tens of thousands of Jews in their population to the thousands or hundreds in population of Jews in their nations do you fear for even one second for Yahweh in His situation before Allah? Would you believe the lie of Islam winning against Christianity and Judaism when Israel is gone and Palestine is whole? It is not possible to deceive the elect for we believe in the power of Christ Jesus and so turn to Revelation 11:7-15 for that is how it goes down per Zechariah 13:8-9 in that the dead bodies will not go through fire as Muslims will only fall never to rise again per Amos 8:14, for enemies be made footstools per Psalsm 110:1 and their ash forms in prostration shall be an abhhorrence unto all flesh per Isaiah 66:24, only after the dead in Christ rise first and rapture off the scene to begin singing the hallelujah chorus on a new Earth looking up at new heavens and the days will be shortened in the sense they go to one day which is eternity. Except those days be shortened NO FLESH, yet for the sake of the elect those days be shortened. For as in the days of Noah and as in the days of Lot THEY WERE EATING AND DRINKING... "Yahweh is the head of a force of armies, who can plan to frustrate? If His hand is stretched out who can turn it back?" - Isaiah 14:27 "For the year is the year of the brought down king, Ahaz ("ahaz" means "he has grasp the ten"). He is dead is the oracle to come." - Isaiah 14:28 "Rejoice not Palestine though now thee be whole, for the rod who struck has been broken. The serpent is at the root with a venom. It shall go forth as a fruit, a flying forth from the serpent." - Isaiah 14:29 "Those most hopeless shall lie down in bonds, and shall die at the root in need, for their remnant will be slain." - Isaiah 14:30 "Wail at the judgment, cry out city as you melt, O Palestine now whole. For smoke from the North, and none shall break rank." - Isaiah 14:31 You see Anti-Christ is identified and melts right after anointing ten idiots to reign with him just long enough to take a piss break into their pants as they find out Xi and Putin aren't planning to prostrate five times a day for seven years. "Allah Obama ab dama elyown." - Isaiah 14:14 "This the man who shakes the whole world? He shook merely the region of the first." - Isaiah 14:16 Habakkuk 1:9-13 "All come, Hamas, assemble the horde of the east, gather the captives like sand. Mock the ruler, and their judgment a joke, laugh as all strongholds become rubble, seize them, then pass through like the wind, pass through guilty by the strength of your god. From of old Yahweh, He is the god Holy, who died? Yahweh, the appointed judge, and the Rock will establish the judgment. The one who was overcome is pure. He sees the evil's power. Look at the evil. What do you see? Do you favor the ones who do wickedly? Are you silent when the wicked swallow those more righteous than them?" Habakkuk 3:11-13 "From the east the crescent stood at the heights, walking in the light of the weapons, the radiance of Barack (Husein Obama) from the thrust. There is indignation at his march on the Earth; in anger he trampled the nations. He went forth for the salvation of his people; for the salvation he's anointed. Now strike the head of the house of the wicked; lay him open from thigh to neck, commune with the Lifted High." Ezekiel 1:13-14 “for the living being was like a consumed ember, a consumed vision upright, shall he walk among living beings, fiery and bright was Barack, he had come out of the consummation. The living beings ran to and fro before the vision of Barack.” Ezekiel 21:2-5 "Son of man set your face towards Jerusalem, and speak against the sanctuary and prophecy against the land of Israel, and say to the land of Israel, "Thus saith Yahweh, "Behold I am against, and the drawn sword from the sheath, and cut off shall be the righteous and the wicked. ON THIS ACCOUNT cut off the righteous and the wicked, thus the drawn sword from the sheath, against all flesh south north, ALL FLESH SHALL KNOW YAHWEH, the drawn sword from the sheath, never to turn back again.""" Ezekiel 21:9-12 “Son of man prophecy and say, Yahweh utters, “a sword, a sword is sharpened and moreover laid bare, sharpened for slaughter the slaughter of laid bare Barack, for shall we rejoice at the son who rejects all the branches of humanity? For it was first given laid bare the handle sharpened and laid bare and set into the hand of the destroyer (Abaddon or Apollyon). Cry out in anguish, son of man. And my people, all the so blessed of God’s Word (Israel) are delivered unto the sword. My people! Thus I shall strike him at the thigh.” Ezekiel 21:13-15 “Test your community. Truly, also the scepter which despises shall be no more, declares the Lord Yahweh. Son of man prophecy and clap your hands together, the sword twice, and now the third time, the sword pierces, the sword for the great one as it pierces those who indwelt and surrounded them. The inner being (demons) weaken greatly, they were brought down to cause stumbling, All of them are at the gate (of hell). Give them to slaughter by the sword. Alas, they had made Barack (Hussein Obama) and caught themselves up for the slaughter.” Ezekiel 21:28 “and son of man prophecy and say, All utters Lord Yahweh, towards teaching towards this reproach, say a sword, a sword has been drawn and laid bare for the slaughter to consume Barack.” Do Job and Moses the earliest writers of the Holy Bible agree with this testimony? Job 26:6 "naked death before Abaddon, and nothing shall cover them over." Job 26:13-14 “by his breath the heavens are cleared, his hand shall pierce BARACK, a serpent. Behold ALLAH the end of his ways. How? A whisper, a word, hear the strength and the thunder. Who can discern?” Deuteronomy 29:25-29 "and they will say, 'ALLAH (the accursed), for they forsook the covenant of Yahweh the God of their fathers, Asshur (he who shall come forth) shall cut off they who were brought out of the land of Egypt.' They will come to serve another god (Allah), and prostrate before a god, Asshur (he who shall come forth) shall know to divide. And the breath of Yahweh shall burn against that land (Palestine whole - see Isaiah 14:29-31) to bring upon all a curse written in this book. Yahweh shall uproot the land in anger, fury of great wrath, to cast another land as it is this day concealed. Yahweh our God. Uncover the Son. For unto the last, this is the observance of all of the words of this book of law." Deuteronomy 32:41 “Truly I cut into Barack with a sword, for My hand shall accomplish justice, I will turn back the vengeance of My adversaries, to repay all those who hate Me.” So who is the black man who removed three kings in 29 days in Egypt, Libya, and Tunesia during the Arab Spring? Zephaniah 2:12 "Moreover Cush (horn of Africa black man) I shall slay by My sword."
Satan is diabolos (devil) in the LXX, simple. I wonder why he didn’t explain that. It’s one of the many titles of the angel/spirit who leads rebellion against God (who also has many titles and roles). Revelation 12, regardless if it comes last in the bible (not sure what logic Mike was using by pointing that out, as if we should dismiss it??), reveals plainly satan the devil refers to the same spirit working in the nachash and is the father of the wicked ones and will possess the false messiah as the spirit of antichrist who operates in many of his children since the time of the apostles including false teachers trying to confuse Christians. Don’t believe the hype folks, having a phd doesn’t mean you’re always right, and more likely than not they’ve been heavily heavily indoctrinated.
"...but we don't have to misunderstand the text" Beautifully articulated as always. This was what brought me to Christ. I started with the presupposition that if God's word is infallible, then I can trust it, and if I can trust it there will be an explanation for the challenges I find and it doesn't have to mean the end of my faith. Sure enough and years later I am still a Christian and I have never asked a question about scripture and not had God provide an answer either through my own study and revelation or through a great teacher like Michael Heiser.
Mike taught the biblical authors got creation wrong because they didn’t know science (hence he did not believe in the creation narrative which puts death before sin) and that we should not expect to understand prophesy which undermines the prophetic warnings Christ gave to know that would signal the time before His return and is in direct opposition to Peter teaching we are to use prophesy as a light to guide us until He returns. Moral of the story, put your trust in the word of God alone and be a good Berean testing all the teachers against it - *ESPECIALLY* if the yt algorithm is pumping them up.
@@AllOtherNamesUsed Dr. Heiser is really spreading some evil stuff here. The doctrine that you must know Hebrew or must know Greek and that the King James Bible contains faults is wrong. Evidently Heiser also believed in "SCIENCE" so we know who he served, sadly.
watch out for those gaslighters trying to drive a wedge between good empirical science (mostly founded by Christian creationists, later hijacked by evolutionists) and what the scriptures actually teaches instead of misrepresenting it like he did vis-a-vis geology (similar to how evolutionists did pretending the bible taught flat earth etc). Oh yes the KJV translators were correct in admitting their work wasn’t perfect and with further info there could be improvements, notwithstanding the artificial strictures king James places on them.
@@AllOtherNamesUsed The earth is literally flat and the Bible does teach that. Belief in the spinning ball just shows a genuine lack of education on the subject of what cosmological science and scientists actually do claim and say. There are so many admissions and so many holes and so many counterproofs. If you don't believe scripture teaches the true and ancient cosmology of a "flat" earth, what is the Bottomless Pit? How could the sky roll up like a scroll? Why are the heavens "spread out like a tent to dwell in"? How is the earth God's footstool? How could Christ be shown all the kingdoms of the earth by Satan? Why are the sun and moon called the two lights? How could the tower of Babel have hoped to reach heaven? None of that makes sense with the spinning ball, you have to make it all metaphors, and mistakes and lies. With the ancient cosmology, it all means exactly what it says.
but not always right....he believed in the after life .....and a real hell....and thats just not true....after death comes resurrection and after that comes the destruction of satan fallen angels and all the unrepentant.
I found Dr Heiser’s work from researching ancient aliens. I am the son of a minister and I always had questions and theories about the plurals in Genesis, Genesis 6, the witch of Endor and Greek mythology and gods. My dad nor any other minister in my Pentecostal denomination ever had an answer that made sense. I struggled with these questions throughout my life and they caused a lot of doubt and questioning my faith. Dr Heiser’s work has made sense of those questions and has reinforced my faith. I feel like I’m reading the Bible for the first time. I thank the Lord for leading me to this information. I wish I found it earlier and I was saddened to read of Dr Heiser’s death. I wish I could have met him. Through him God has revealed the history of our faith. It makes so much sense now.
Miss Mike, thankfully we have videos like this, that we can still hear Mike teach. Thank you, you are a very good host. This is the first time I've seen your channel, and I look forward to checking out more of your videos! ❤👍🏽
Rediscovering the book of Job in these times.. mind blown. Everything is in this book. So many insights and prophecy and history. Job 3.. I can hear what is coming thru Job.. and how important Job was in his community. Even his family. I hope everyone will read this with new eyes.
There is no, "The Devil"coming in you. We have it in us to make Good choices, Bad choices, Destructive choices and choices all in-between and the choices others make effect us too

15:00; what else don’t I know? Thankfully I am realizing more and more each day as I grow older that there is whole whole whole lot that I don’t know about things that I thought I used to know, much less scripture but certainly including scripture. But I am thankful for that because I believe that it is a good thing that in my adulthood I am finally able, hopefully, to set aside at least small smidgeon of my “know-it-all” pride. Yah. I was that guy. Or I am that guy, and I still struggle with such silly arrogance on the daily. But again, am thankful that God has helped me mature to a place where I can at least recognize and that I do have a choice on it! And I still love to learn new things too!
I just turned 70 & my entire Christian faith has grown so much since finding this man! I always knew there must be so many things around us that we didn't know about! Between Dr. Heiser, Chuck Misler & others they have lead me to, the world of Heaven, God & my ongoing future has become so very real! 💖 Dr. Heiser's teaching & research is greatly missed on this side of "the veil".
How you gonna know it you don't sereach everything they told you is a lie everything remember you are monkey on a spinning ball flying in the dark and cold space
So this “Adversary” in Job has power to call fire from heaven to scorch Job’s crops, inspire thieves to steal his flocks, power over the wind to blow the house on top of his children, and power to make his skin break out in boils and he’s just some random adversary??? The definite article does not change the narrative. Like you said, “If the shoe fits.” This is a super natural being that appears to be very powerful. And he represents the planet Earth, just like the “Prince of this world” in the gospel of John.
Yeah I’m not on board with his argument either. I’m curious to know though who supposedly is this being who is not the devil, but who has this much power to cause so much harm.
A very good study of Job is found in Dr. Hugh Ross’s book on Job. Job is considered by many biblical scholars to precede Genesis the first book of the Bible. Dr. Hugh Ross‘s book is very informative and is an excellent study of the book of Job.
I love how he put all this. Truth is all I need to know is I'm supposed to live to serve God. Whatever whoever the adversary is doesnt matter. Ik what God wants from me. So call it satan, devil, serpent or dragon. All I need to know is it's against God. It wants me to stray. It's up to me to do my best not to. As long as I seek God and allow Him to guide me. I'll be alright.
1) Language, and how we use certain words, evolves. What was once a general title may become, or be used as a proper name. Whereas we don't use a definite article before a proper name, we do use a definite article before a title as a proper name. Let's say Bob is the college dean, and he holds this position for a long enough period of time that students graduate and become adults and they continue to work and live in the same town. When they see Bob, they don't address him as Bob, but continue to call him Dean. If their spouse calls and asks them what they are doing, they would say they are talking with the Dean. Even after retiring, Bob's identity is never broken away from his former title. His first name may have fallen out of use to the point he is known by his title and his last name. To this day, when I see my PE teacher from elementary school, I call him Coach. So, a person may be the coach,. And there may be more than one. But over time they simply become, Coach. This commenly known pattern seems to be a pattern we see in scripture. Jesus is The Christ, and over time His title as the Messiah, or the Christ transitions into use as His name. It seems evident to me that this is how the title Satan became the name of the serpent, the devil, etc etc.
What a fascinating explanation! I really miss Dr. Heiser as he REALLY does make scripture accessible to to the interested audience who wouldn’t have a chance of reading the Bible in the correct way! People like me with absolutely no qualifications just a LOVE for Jesus and studying the scriptures. He thinks outside of the box and had a God given ability! I hope to meet this humble man someday! Shalom ✌️ God bless 🙏🙏✌️
Thank You, Great Work. The challenge is are we willing to do the hard work of thinking ? " Few people think more than two or three times a year; I have made an international reputation for myself by thinking once or twice a week." George Bernard Shaw
THANK YOU William E. Rollins for Your THOUGHT PROVOKING MESSAGE!! It has been almost a hundred years since Bernard Shaw said that, and THEN, FEW people thought about thinking 2 or 3 times a year, it's much fewer today. Thanks again.
Too much light can blind people, I read already so many comments, and this revelation has been taken in the wrong way. Is so sad that this always happens.
I think the character has little to do with what the Book of Job is revealing, that is, even a righteous man, as Job before God, had much to repent. The job of satan was to expose this fact. Nonetheless, this beautiful book is a sublime gem. It is said to contain hidden details of creation, the universe, the meaning of life. Reading through a theological lens or with one’s own knowledge of our physical existence, it’s merely words to story to take out of context. Every time I go through Job, though I barely scratch the surface, there seems to be a deeper layer of meaning.
Wow, what an incredible educator, teacher, Mentor! There is no one that can fill his shoes or even come close. There is, was, only one Michael S Heiser❤ he left such an amazing legacy. I thank Yahweh for this incredible man🙏
Just as in the book of Job, God uses Satan to test and try faith of believers. To perfect them. 1 Peter 5:8-11 KJVS [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. [10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. [11] To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
There is no devil in the Hebrew Bible. Quoting a new testament verse or two is ridiculous. Another thing is the King James version is really not a very good translation.
There are so many who smile at us, and they really want to undermine our Christian faith . Thank you for putting so much into words Michael.......can you hear me from Heaven ?

Don’t rely on people like Heiser. Apostle Paul said that the gospel was very simple. Period. The Bible doesn’t stutter and it means exactly what it says. The Bible is very simple. Because God is holy, a sacrifice for sin is necessary. God prepared a human body for himself and joined his own creation and he was tempted like we are - yet without sin - and he himself became the perfect sacrifice. Now, salvation is possible and we have to repent. There are no prophets and apostles anymore, don’t look for someone to teach you. There will always be someone who pretends to “know” and be “authoritative” and willing to sell you lies (and books)
The problem with that line of thought is that the Bible was never written in English. And even in English we have nuance. Alot of our layman assumptions come from what we think we know about biblical history, culture, language, politics; and thinking it was written to us today. It was not. It was written to those long ago and when we understand the background of that history and language at a minimum, we can from there apply the principles and practices to our lives. But to approach the Bible without it is like picking up a letter written to some else and assuming they've written to you. You can miss what may have been a joke or slight correction to ones character. Having been of the mindset that Scripture is simple, I understand where one might be coming from. But since attending bible college for the last few years, I understand more then ever if we don't research into it it causes all sorts of doctrines (teachings) that don't aligne with God's character. It's wise to know how to research yourself to see if what you're taught is correct (the study of Hermeneutics is the bases for this).

Mike makes an excellent point about professors and scholars who seem to relish undermining the faith of young Christians. Some of these professors/scholars have even built careers on undermining Christianity. I thank the Lord that Mike was such a relentless scholar on the side of Christianity. I learned much reading his work and listening to him speak.
I've felt in the past (not that I'm all that better) that many in the church would drive people away from God, or at least their "God". This was what drove me to seek alternative information outside of the bible, with friends and acquaintances of course who knew a little bit about the metaphysical world and religions beside christianity. It's rather astounding how I've seemed to have come across information I would never have known even existed. I thought "God" didn't do things like that, I thought he only allowed the "truly righteous" to find truth.
He also taught we can’t expect to understand prophesy, which undermines all sorts of prophetic warnings from Christ about what signs to look for, and the opposite of what Peter specifically said, that we use it as a light to guide us until Christ returns. He also said the authors didn’t understand science when it comes to creation (hence he didn’t believe in creation) which puts death before sin and makes no sense of Christ dying for our sins and conquering death thereby. Etc, etc. He was like the professors he described but with more subtlety.
@@ttsnews8035 Christ didn't come to "die for our sins". He came to bring the christ consciousness, the awareness of the Brotherhood of Man, the Fatherhood of God. Jesus/Yeshuah was "possessed" by the "Christ". He carried the Christic mantle, showing by his deeds and words everyone could do the same if they chose to (live in their divine self rather than the invented personality). The entire idea of Yeshua being an "blood offering" or "dying for the sins of the world" is erroneous, though the crucifixion carries great meaning otherwise. It is the symbol of the greatest love for even the most unworthy. It's hard to imagine God being so involved and entwined with human affairs as to become one of us to show us his love. What God would be satisfied with the substitution of an innocent sufferer for a guilty offender? This scenario is childish at best. This was a symbol, not a reality. Mankind had salvation ever before Yeshua stepped on the Earth. He conquered what he termed the "selfish self" and gave his disciples the knowledge to teach others to do the same. The Roman and Jewish priesthoods (and namely Paul/Saul of Tarsus) stole the books which his disciples (and others such as the Essenes) had written to form their books, the gospels which create a story around the person of Yeshua/Jesus, rather than his true religion or teaching. The gospels, and the entire corpus of scripture tell a story of the journey of the soul toward enlightenment. The bible is a masterpiece in this way, a "story within a story" in a way. I missed how Dr Heiser said that we couldn't understand prophesy. I think you're hung up on the actual reality of what the true meaning of scripture is. It is certainly not as taught in the churches, not from my study. It aligns with the truth at all times, but in order to see this, you must understand hebrew and greek symbology. Without this understanding, you never arrive at this true meaning, especially where prophetic books are concerned (I would emphasize the Book of Revelation specifically, and Daniel). My guess is also that you should step back and stop feeling as if God is demanding you understand the books "or else". The churches impress this on people in a way. The meaning comes to you when you aren't pressing to find it.
Thankyou Dr Michael what an insightful man you are, Its true that if Satan means adversary/accuser the term can be used to any of the bad guy its a common noun, unlike Lucifer which have a definitive Proper Noun.
My forefather Job will say. "Is not what we possess but is what you can do without"! Remember thy utterance beloved has a true foundation and an Aim. Before thy utterance LEAVES thy mouths! Beloved remember you are worth more than anything nor everything that exists! Is like who else will glorify all things that exists but you! Used these 2. 1st. Love God as a CHILDS with sincere conversations so you may know how truly vital to 2nd. Love thy neighbors as thyself. As I love thee beloved! Therefore you love one another beloved! Remember sincere conversations comes with sincere answers! Truth and peace reunite. The accuser of my BRETHRENS day and night! Time given and time will be taken away. Remember thy utterance can command Angels. How? Thy mouth!
The question, "What else don't you know?" Hit hard. Every time I find something that questions what I used to believe and I start going down that path of truth (at the study time it would be considered a line of thinking), it ends up affecting other areas of belief. I'll give an example that relates to this video. Once you find out that satan just means adversary, it makes you wonder what devil or demon means, it makes you want to know what hell (Gehenna) actually is, it makes you want to understand what an angel (messenger) is. It digs deep. What if there is no red monster with a pitchfork living in a place called hell with little imp minions running around torturing people? What if that was made up and is not found anywhere in the Bible? Now you have to ask yourself what happens when an unbeliever dies? Where do they go? We may not have all the answers, but it still gets you thinking. Maybe everyone goes to Heaven, or maybe those that don't have faith in Jesus are just removed from existence. Mike did a great job at the beginning, but then he missed something crucial. He assumes sons of God are heavenly beings. I'd like to propose that it is simpler than that and more logical. It is just human believers in God and ones that are walking uprightly with God. Adversary or accuser does not need to be one of them. It can be someone outside the group that happens to approach the group.
Sometimes I think that Michael does the opposite of oversimplifying. Now on many occasions I think he brings some great questions, but many years ago First Fruits of Zion, a Messianic ministry, did a review of Unseen Realm and although they great commend some tremendous insight of his book but felt like he missed some elements of Hebraic thought. Several terms in Hebrew can very much synonymous and not necessarily two different things.
The comment that always makes me wince is when he says “…it only says that one place in the Bible…”. I’m very suspicious of anyone who says that. Jesus called him the prince of this world. Equivocate that professor.
I also tend to think that, the Lord reveal’s things to the world only in His Good Time. Maybe the Satan, wasn’t originally known as the “devil” to begin with. But, as time goes on He will indeed reveal His enemies, and so by default our enemies too, to His genuine believers. The Satan was a created angel, who fell, but this was HIS choice he wasn’t pushed! Maybe then he became the devil as we know him today. The important thing to remember is that, Yahweh actually wants us to think about what we read in the Bible, He wants us to discuss His word with each other. You see, He has given us freedom of choice, and it is up to us to find out what is right and what is wrong. With every decision we make, we are drawn closer to God. In the New Testament we read “A double minded man is unstable in all His ways”. But we will always have points on which we disagree. After all isn’t this why we have so many denominations within Christianity??? However, there is ONE consistent message within both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament, which is the FACT that the Jewish people were and still are God’s chosen people, and He promised them a messiah, and this was fulfilled in the New Testament. So, as long as we all agree on the important points 1) His Death on the Cross, to pay for the sin’s of all those who have ever lived. 2) His resurrection, surely all the rest will make for interesting debates between believers. I do believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a Virgin, otherwise she would have been impure. But, I am sure some people would disagree. There’s an old joke about debating Jewish believers, which is, within a group of 5 Rabbi’s you’ll always find 6 different views. It’s good to discuss and debate, what is right or wrong, so long as it’s respectfully. 🙏🙏🙏
Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
The dragon and the title of Satan have no connection. One is an evil supernatural mastermind, the other is the heavenly job of prosecutor that good and bad angels have to do from time to time when their time comes.

Mike Heiser says "There is no place in the OT that connects the word Satan (in Job 1 and Job 2with the serpent of Genesis 3" I should point out here that if we already have a pre conceived idea that the serpent is like a snake crawling on the ground then that in itself is wrong. The serpent was a BEAST of the field. Gen 3:1. It was not until this beast of the field was cursed that it was made to crawl on its belly. (Gen 3:14) Jesus spoke in the OT in the book of Luke (yes it's OT because it's before the death and resurrection) Jesus said Luke 10:18 “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." Paul also knew who Satan was Rom 16:20,1Cor 5:5 , 7:5, 2Cor 2:11 ,11:14 In particular in 2 Cor 11:14 Paul must be referring to Isaiah 14 :12-15 and Ezek 28:11-18 Paul knew that it was the serpent that deceived Eve 2Cor 11:3, 1Tim 2:14. Paul must have known when that happened? Peter also knew who Satan was "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1Pet 5:8. Then we have Rev 12:9 "So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." Are we to believe that Paul and Peter couldn't connect Satan in Job Ch 1 & 2 to Genesis 3? Maybe Mike Heiser is asking the wrong question.
I Agree Rev 12:9 is after the birth of Jesus. But it must also be in the knowledge of God before the foundation of the world. The same as we read of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world Rev 13:8. I don't believe the Mormon teaching.

The biggest problem I had with Mike is that he arrived at logically flawed conclusions based on his Hebrew analysis. Sure, Hebrew doesn't normally tolerate definite articles before proper nouns, but he failed to mention that like most languages, there are exceptions. Also, he committed a classic non-sequitur fallacy by assuming that because "satan" in Hebrew has the definite article, this must mean satan there is not being referred to as a personal proper name. We see in the text a conversation with this personal being, and so you can't make things up against the context based on the use of the Hebrew definite article. Remember this. Whenever ANYONE makes a big deal about the presence or absence of a definite article in Hebrew or Greek,(like the Jehovah's Witnesses) creating a theology based on that, you should know something is wrong and cultic about the claim based on such things. Heiser was simply wrong on this.
1:45 - 1:57 Your teaching is in error: The Bible specifically identifies that ancient serpent who deceived Eve, and who deceives the whole world, as being Satan the devil. _"The great dragon was cast out, _*_that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world."_*_ (Revelation 12)_ _"But I fear lest by any means, as _*_the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety,_*_ so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."(2 Corinthians 11)_ Denying what Revelation teaches just because it is the last book of the Bible is just as ludicrous as denying what Genesis says just because it is the first book of the Bible.
He literally said that there is no place in the Old Testament that connects those two ideas. The examples you gave are from the New Testament and by the way, he´s referring to the type of questions the professors make at colleges.
@@SamclauximSegoviaSandova-bf5bv Do you agree that *the serpent* mentioned in Genesis and *the Satan* mentioned throughout the Old Testament is *an intelligent non-human adversary?*
I believe we are mistaken that the serpent in Genesis and the adversary in Job are the same entities. They have different MOs and personalities. Both can be called "serpents" as in serpentine supernatural beings but I don't believe they are the same being. In Revelation 17 & 18 Mystery Babylon "rides the beast who is not". She is in control of the beast's system but she is not the beast. The beast ascends from the pit and destroys her. The serpent in Eden didn't seek worship, it sought to corrupt man into being his own god. The same spirit was at Babel and in Rev Mystery Babylon. The "devil" wants worship, seeks to take God's place. The serpent was cast to the earth at Eden. The dragon is cast to earth after the ascension of Jesus.
@@lysdexic5205 Clearly, the serpent and the dragon are the same creature. How do we know? @@knowledgeispower2787 Seraphim and Cherubim are terms borrowed from Egypt and Babylon. Both refer to "serpentine" creatures who served as throne guardians. If your professor does this, raise your hand and say, professor. When he answers to your calling of professor, ask him/her if that's their name. When they say no, ask if it's ok to use that term to properly distinguish who they are from all others in the room, just like you would do if using their name. The answer is yes, and therefore their role in the school classroom works the same as a proper name.
@ChristianRebel the thing is that you don't understand what Heiser is getting at. It's an office. An entire party actually that take turns working as the Satan. There's no one individual that's called the Satan. I haven't encountered one instance in the Hebrew Bible where the context and language used made it absolutely unambiguous that the Satan that is referenced is a unique figure that appears every time under that title. There's even proof to suggest that even good angels take the role of Satan from time to time, such as the issue with Ahab. Thus, saying it's a specific person is reading things into the text.
@ChristianRebel I see. I don't think its unreasonable to say it's possible for it to be the dragon. Just the way one gets there is the important part. Getting there after understanding that the Hebrew allows for it in some cases is one thing, getting there due to the church claims and flawed English translations is another. One is reasonable, and another is arrogant.
CAUTION: Heiser is academically cunning! He rewards those desiring to look smart, to passively concur with his cleverly conceived conclusions, then rewards them with an A for taking the class. While appearing to have a form of godliness, his conclusions always diminish the power and glorious dimensionality of a HOLY a GOD.

The conversation between Yahweh and Satan in Job is like that of two rivals challenging each other in a sports game. Job pays the consequences for such rivalry. The question is: who is Yahweh?
Just to be clear : there is NO mention of ‘Shaitan’ in the older poetical core [chapters 3-42] of the book of ‘Job’ [‘sufferer’] - only in the much later chapters 1 & 2 written in LATE Hebrew from the Persian period (BCE 532-332) and had originally nothing to do with the ‘message’ of the poem proper (whose message in ch 42 is ‘why do you suffer ? Because I say so, that’s why, says ELOAH-Do you not know who I am ? so suck it up !’ Whereas Job replied, ‘ok ok I’m sorry I even ask’d !’ There is no Shaitan (‘blocker’, adversary) in the poem of Job which is far far older than the two chapters of the prose-introduction (and the final paragraph) - the prose sections put a whole brand new (postExilic) spin on the story
For those whom are serious about their relationship w/ the Lord. Read the Bible for yourself and rely on your own interpretation. And what you don't understand .. Take it to the Lord. For he reveals to those whom ask him. If you rely on others interpretations .. You risk being lead by a blind person. And when the blind leads the blind. They both end up in the pit.
A blind man may lead another blind man into a pit, but at least they won’t be blind, in a pit, all alone. Believers must be open to proper guidance from the Holy Spirit but the Book of Acts & the Epistles describe proper discipleship, apostolic authority and Church discipline.
In Acts 8- Philip sees an Ethiopian eunuch reading the scroll of Isaiah. Philip asks if he understands what he is reading and the eunuch responds “How can I understand unless I have someone to teach me?” Philip explains the words of Isaiah and tells him how Christ has fulfilled the old covenant. If you believe the Bible is God’s Word, then submit yourself to its authority by obeying Gods command for His church to gather often, partake in holy communion and pursue discipleship.
That sounds like God. Offering us humans no explanation for suffering. Our trust and confidence is in his goodness and never dying love for his human creatures.
Hard to imagine God taking the challenge seriously if "the accuser" didn't mean it. If he IS Satan (the snake in the garden) then there's a reason why he would have a bone to pick with God and his people. Why would God just have a legal prosecutor? God doesn't know who is righteous? Satan has never been a name. It has always been a title. The archetypal embodiment of that title is referred to by the title as if a name because he's THE Satan. Believing that Satan in Job is the same character as the snake in the garden may not be provable, but it's a perfectly reasonable belief given that we all accept on faith the existence of the supernatural and the inspired word of God. We should all be epistemically aware and leave any certainty about pretty much anything at the door.
Since the serpent was cursed to crawl on its belly, did satan crawl up to chat with god to trash Job? and Jesus in the desert? Hey, maybe so ... wasn't there!
@@wp5875 a fair point, but Dr Heiser himself doesn’t believe the serpent was a literal serpent. He believes it was a seraphim. A winged serpentine creature. Cursed to crawl on its belly in this context would simply be the removal of status. A demotion so to speak. Leaving the context wide open for further interaction such as that which we see in Job. The Book of Job is probably the one book that strengthened my faith the most. Not to say the other books didn't but Job really helped a lot of questions I had reading other books. To me, The Satan is completely different from the being called Satan and Devil and Serpent. It's like watching Perry Mason, The Satan is just the prosecutor; he's the bad guy of the defendant, but he's not a _bad_ guy, y'know? A little too Wreck It Ralph for me, but my point is almost made, for Job, and most of us, he's our adversary yet he's not evil. The faces of evil looks different from the one him. My biggest thing that made me doubt my faith was the ideas present in Paradise Lost because every Joe & Jane I know whether into God or not thinks that that book is shorthand for the Bible and it isn't. Old Job in the far away land of Uz has helped me - a someone I truly don't believe he could've ever imagined in his wildest dreams. And Dr. Heiser, how interesting I hadn't heard about you until just a few days ago; I'll have to look into you more. Thank you.
Accuser and adversary are the two translations but it's common for certain words to have two translations though. In the context of the Book of Job it's definitely going with the Accuser translation.
Question: Although grammatically “ha satan” is not a proper name of a spiritual being in the Job verses, why could not this label/title (meaning the accuser, the adversary) be associated with the devil/serpent? Does Revelation 12:9 refer to one spiritual being (the great dragon, ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world) and Revelation 12:10 refer to a second (or the same) spiritual being (the accuser of the brethren)?
I didnt get Heisers point either, like did Heiser mean that this Ha Shatan is not even the devil but some other being or did he mean that back then, in the OT time, it was not yet developed to be understood that this entity in Job, is the main villain - Satan himself?
@@nikokapanen82 Based on the grammatical profile presented here, there is no conclusive evidence that the spiritual being referred to in Job 1:6-12 is Satan, but neither is there evidence that it is not Satan. It is just like Forensic Files when they have a partial DNA profile. 😀
@@tacticaltruth8118 This is a weird idea then because there is only one main adversary, one main rebel, main opposer and bringer of death and corruption and that is the one who rebelled against God in the beginning of times, Lucifer who became Satan, so of course Ha Shatan is the same being, Ha Shatan translates as The Opposer, that is what Satan is, he is opposing God in everything. We have only one enemy. He is the accuser of brethren, he is accusing everybody, just like he was accusing God and Job for being something they are not.
@@nikokapanen82 This is my point exactly. The modus operandi of the unnamed spiritual entity in Job 1&2 matches that of the description of Satan in Revelation 12:9-10.
Because the dragon is an evil rebel. And Satan is a title of heavenly prosecutor that good and bad angels have to do from time to time. If you've been to a court you know what that means. The lawyers that work as prosecutor aren't evil beings. It's just their job the law firm assigned them.
Yes Dr Heiser, the sentence structure is different, but are you keeping the big picture? Is there any other angelic figure who opposes man ? And do we know for a fact that Job was written by a Hebrew?
As someone who reads the entire Bible in Hebrew, the Satan appears as a title everywhere. Not once is it used as a name. And it's simply the heavenly job of prosecutor. Just when the time comes for disloyal heavenly beings to serve it, they kinda go overboard. That's it. And the disloyal faction have a head honcho, and that is the one Christians know as Satan.

Your eyes will be open to a new way, no not just new way, but the REAL way of reading the bible. The number one thing Dr. Heiser tells you from the beginning is that his goal is to have you see the bible in the eyes and times of the writers of the bible and not from the traditional interpretation via, Greek and on to English and other non-biblical times. He helps you see what is written in context of the second temple period writers of the bible. .... let that absorb in, read his books, listen to videos and his Naked Bible poscasts... you will be amazed. I thought I was well versed, and had a strong understanding. I was wrong. Yes, I was up with Jesus Christ's teachings, but my understanding of so much of the old Testament was incomplete and even wrong at times. One of his repeated mantras is, "if it is not stated in the Bible, then doctrine and tradition you hear or believe is wrong. For example many many Christians are taught that when Satan "fell" he took 1/3 of angels with him. There is zero foundation in the old Testament to support that notion.
God saw in Job the blood of Jesus Christ because Job acted by faith. Job was just like any other believer but God defended him in front of Satan because Job trusted in God. What a great example of Who our God is: loving, integer, trustworthy. Trust in Him with all your heart.

1/3 of the angels falling is not opinion it is fact!! Without discernment from the Holy Spirit you could be the smartest person in the world but just not understand. This is why it's important to learn even basics of biblical translation philosophy. Another example is almost every time the Old Testament says "Lord" in Hebrew it's referring to the official Name of God but out of respect for His Holy Name the Jewish writers used "Jehovah" which is translated to Lord in English. It is king of similar to the way "Lord" is in Greek in the New Testament "Kyrios" which means "Master/Lord".

"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ," Ephesians 4:11-13 ESV
This guy is not to be trusted when it comes to sound biblical doctrine. He is on a different level. Someone who ignores what the Bible actually says and goes off on wild sci fi imaginations.
That pre-existent angelic battle/war comes primarily from the book “Paradise Lost” and that book is semi-Biblical at best, really it’s anti-Biblical more often than not
The writer, John Milton, also peddled the idea of the forbidden fruit being an apple. Great writer, but perhaps not as great a theologian. Then again, back in his day, going against anything the official Church taught could get you killed, so...
Well, the reference about Rev with the dragon being cast down to earth is during or at the beginning of the Great Tribulation. And it states also that "the" serpent, "the" Devil and "Satan" are the same angel/person/being, etc.

So God let Job suffer just to prove his point to Satan. What a God full of love or should I say the truth. He is a ctually an evil God full of sh.t.

ON THIS ACCOUNT cut off the righteous and the wicked, thus the drawn sword from the sheath, against all flesh south north, ALL FLESH SHALL KNOW YAHWEH, the drawn sword from the sheath, never to turn back again."""
Ezekiel 21:9-12 “Son of man prophecy and say, Yahweh utters, “a sword, a sword is sharpened and moreover laid bare, sharpened for slaughter the slaughter of laid bare Barack, for shall we rejoice at the son who rejects all the branches of humanity? For it was first given laid bare the handle sharpened and laid bare and set into the hand of the destroyer (Abaddon or Apollyon). Cry out in anguish, son of man. And my people, all the so blessed of God’s Word (Israel) are delivered unto the sword. My people! Thus I shall strike him at the thigh.”
Ezekiel 21:13-15 “Test your community. Truly, also the scepter which despises shall be no more, declares the Lord Yahweh. Son of man prophecy and clap your hands together, the sword twice, and now the third time, the sword pierces, the sword for the great one as it pierces those who indwelt and surrounded them. Ezekiel 21:28 “and son of man prophecy and say, All utters Lord Yahweh, towards teaching towards this reproach, say a sword, a sword has been drawn and laid bare for the slaughter to consume Barack.”
Do Job and Moses the earliest writers of the Holy Bible agree with this testimony?
Job 26:6 "naked death before Abaddon, and nothing shall cover them over."
Job 26:13-14 “by his breath the heavens are cleared, his hand shall pierce BARACK, a serpent. Behold ALLAH the end of his ways. How? A whisper, a word, hear the strength and the thunder. Who can discern?”
Deuteronomy 29:25-29 "and they will say, 'ALLAH (the accursed), for they forsook the covenant of Yahweh the God of their fathers, Asshur (he who shall come forth) shall cut off they who were brought out of the land of Egypt.' They will come to serve another god (Allah), and prostrate before a god, Asshur (he who shall come forth) shall know to divide. For unto the last, this is the observance of all of the words of this book of law."
Deuteronomy 32:41 “Truly I cut into Barack with a sword, for My hand shall accomplish justice, I will turn back the vengeance of My adversaries, to repay all those who hate Me.”
So who is the black man who removed three kings in 29 days in Egypt, Libya, and Tunesia during the Arab Spring?
Zephaniah 2:12 "Moreover Cush (horn of Africa black man) I shall slay by My sword."

Better off just sticking with scriptures with a close eye on the original terms and lexicons. Commentaries should be mainly for comparing notes.

Dr. Heiser Was Truly Gifted, One In A Million!
but not always right....he believed in the after life .....and a real hell....and thats just not true....after death comes resurrection and after that comes the destruction of satan fallen angels and all the unrepentant.
Mike has deepened my understanding of Scripture and made me more grateful for Who God is and What He has done for me

Yes, the older we get, the less polarized and the less sure of everything we become, if we are wiser, I think.

How you gonna know it you don't sereach everything they told you is a lie everything remember you are monkey on a spinning ball flying in the dark and cold space
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was to convince you he doesn’t exist. “Like a roaring lion seeking whole he may devour” don’t forget
Exactly. Plus I didn't even hear him explain who he actually believes it is, did you??
Exactly. Just because the writer calls him “the adversary” does not preclude that the adversary is the devil.
Yeah I’m not on board with his argument either. I’m curious to know though who supposedly is this being who is not the devil, but who has this much power to cause so much harm.

One of the greatest things i ever heard Micheal say was " we have so much clarity in the word ro agree on why disagree over what we cant fully grasp"
Satan is the adversary of every believer, the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air, the devil.
The Opposer, the Destroyer, the Deceiver, the Seducer, the Corrupter etc. are all the names of Satan because that is what he is by his nature.

A very good study of Job is found in Dr. Hugh Ross’s book on Job. Job is considered by many biblical scholars to precede Genesis the first book of the Bible. Dr. Hugh Ross‘s book is very informative and is an excellent study of the book of Job.

Thank you for the great explanation on Job - that difficult book people want to avoid. Thank God for Dr Heiser and his gift of teaching.
Heiser breaks down the complex into digestible, layman language. I sure miss him
What a fascinating explanation! I really miss Dr. Heiser as he REALLY does make scripture accessible to to the interested audience who wouldn’t have a chance of reading the Bible in the correct way! People like me with absolutely no qualifications just a LOVE for Jesus and studying the scriptures.

I hope to meet this humble man someday!

Too much light can blind people, I read already so many comments, and this revelation has been taken in the wrong way. Is so sad that this always happens.
Agreed 💯💯
I think the character has little to do with what the Book of Job is revealing, that is, even a righteous man, as Job before God, had much to repent. The job of satan was to expose this fact. Nonetheless, this beautiful book is a sublime gem. It is said to contain hidden details of creation, the universe, the meaning of life. Reading through a theological lens or with one’s own knowledge of our physical existence, it’s merely words to story to take out of context. Every time I go through Job, though I barely scratch the surface, there seems to be a deeper layer of meaning.

Just as in the book of Job, God uses Satan to test and try faith of believers. To perfect them.

[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

The one who is the Devil - the one who divides, must be also the Satan = the enemy.
Thankyou Dr Michael what an insightful man you are, Its true that if Satan means adversary/accuser the term can be used to any of the bad guy its a common noun, unlike Lucifer which have a definitive Proper Noun.

Yes, he is the Prince of this world.... Adam and eve lost that privilege after Sin

Mike Heiser says "There is no place in the OT that connects the word Satan (in Job 1 and Job 2with the serpent of Genesis 3"
I should point out here that if we already have a pre conceived idea that the serpent is like a snake crawling on the ground then that in itself is wrong.
The serpent was a BEAST of the field. Gen 3:1. It was not until this beast of the field was cursed that it was made to crawl on its belly. (Gen 3:14)
Jesus spoke in the OT in the book of Luke (yes it's OT because it's before the death and resurrection) Jesus said Luke 10:18 “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." Paul also knew who Satan was Rom 16:20,1Cor 5:5 , 7:5, 2Cor 2:11 ,11:14 In particular in 2 Cor 11:14 Paul must be referring to Isaiah 14 :12-15 and Ezek 28:11-18
Paul knew that it was the serpent that deceived Eve 2Cor 11:3, 1Tim 2:14. Paul must have known when that happened?
Peter also knew who Satan was "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1Pet 5:8.
Then we have Rev 12:9 "So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
Are we to believe that Paul and Peter couldn't connect Satan in Job Ch 1 & 2 to Genesis 3? Maybe Mike Heiser is asking the wrong question.
Listen again to the video: Revelation 12 :9 happened after Jesus was born not in some Mormon pre-existance.
I Agree Rev 12:9 is after the birth of Jesus. But it must also be in the knowledge of God before the foundation of the world. The same as we read of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world Rev 13:8. I don't believe the Mormon teaching.

Re: Yeshua - Elohim = Judges
Yes, Elohim IS plural. Also Yeshua cried out Eli Eli Why have YOU forsaken me?
When I see the word Elohim, I see Eli, the Father, & him, < Yeshua = Elohim < him = Yeshua.
1:45 - 1:57 Your teaching is in error:
The Bible specifically identifies that ancient serpent who deceived Eve, and who deceives the whole world, as being Satan the devil.
_"The great dragon was cast out, _*_that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world."_*_ (Revelation 12)_
_"But I fear lest by any means, as _*_the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety,_*_ so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."(2 Corinthians 11)_
Denying what Revelation teaches just because it is the last book of the Bible is just as ludicrous as denying what Genesis says just because it is the first book of the Bible.
Btw, dragons are serpentine creatures.
@@knowledgeispower2787 Seraphim and Cherubim are terms borrowed from Egypt and Babylon. Both refer to "serpentine" creatures who served as throne guardians.
Because I say so, that’s why, says ELOAH-Do you not know who I am ? so suck it up !’ Whereas Job replied, ‘ok ok I’m sorry I even ask’d !’
There is no Shaitan (‘blocker’, adversary) in the poem of Job which is far far older than the two chapters of the prose-introduction (and the final paragraph) - the prose sections put a whole brand new (postExilic) spin on the story
Excellant approach, my man!
" all men are liars" ,,, some are exceptionally talented.

This is a weird idea then because there is only one main adversary, one main rebel, main opposer and bringer of death and corruption and that is the one who rebelled against God in the beginning of times, Lucifer who became Satan, so of course Ha Shatan is the same being, Ha Shatan translates as The Opposer, that is what Satan is, he is opposing God in everything.

One of his repeated mantras is, "if it is not stated in the Bible, then doctrine and tradition you hear or believe is wrong.

That happened to my youngest son years ago when he was a college freshman. He told him there is no God.
He?
He who?
So why are we talking about a God that doesnt exist?
The bible says the fool says in his heart there's no God..go TH-cam - are you a good person by living waters..very biblical
In reference to the last few minutes of this video:
1)Baal,Moloch,Leviathan,etc...plenty of Bible verses containing these false god spirits. Is there a problem with creating a word...'demon'...in order to classify them(even though there are 'zero' mentions of this word in the Bible)
2) regarding the lack of evidence of 1/3 of the Angels being cast down to earth....how about Isaiah 14:12 and Rev 12:4??
I have lots of respect for Mike and I listen to many of his videos but these comments raised my eyebrows. Hoping that some of you will weigh in on this.
Thank you
Satan isn't a name, but a title to describe something or someone, just like God is a title, it's not a name. Just like having titles such as General, Major, Sargeant, President, etc. There is one main adversary and his name was Lucifer, but he lost the right to that name when he sinned and lost the meaning and purpose of that name and are now referred to a title describing him for what he became.
AMEN!!!!
To: Cryptix Daemon,
Satan means ADVERSARY. Adversary MEANS Foe-Opponent · Rival · Enemy · Antagonist · Combatant, et.al. etc. Great to know that YOU know that the 3 letter English word God IS a Title. Tell me WHAT that 3 letter ENGLISH word "God" ORIGINALLY MEANT & WHO IT APPLIED TO!! Also, IF U know the NAME of, אֱלֹהִ֑ים < please do tell me. ALSO, > אֱלֹהִ֑ים < IS A Hebrew word the "VERSIONEER TRANSLATORS" said means, God.
The VERSIONEER TRANSLATORS SAID אֱלֹהִ֑ים MEANS God UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF SATAN!!
Satan is also referred in the Bible as the Dragon and the Serpent of old.....
Satan...
Book 📜 of Job....Chapter 2 verse 1 & 2...
AGAIN there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Satan, from whence comest thou?
And Satan answered the LORD and said, From going to and fro in the earth and from walking up and down in it.
He still likes to fool some christians with the title Day 🌟 Star as being Jesus instead of LUCIFER...

Hey Vic!! Were those sons of GOD also sons of the LORD??

Who is he that hides council without knowledge? Who is the Behemoth and the Leviathan? Who is the king of all the children of pride? Is there another king of the prideful? Is there another father of lies? Job 40, 41.
In the garden of Eden the animals could speak and were rational beings before the fall. Satan entered the snake just like he entered Judas, because the snake as a host was a cunning creature. The Serpent of old is the Dragon that entered the serpent in the garden, it is Lucifer.
Satan isn't real.

Mark 3:22-23...Jesus was accused by the scribes, who knew the Old Testament backwards and forwards, of casting out devils by Beelzebub: PRINCE OF THE DEVILS. Verse 23., says that Jesus said to them: HOW CAN SATAN CAST OUT SATAN?" It is very apparent to me, that the scribes didn't have a problem associating Satan with the devils, and they certainly studied the Old Testament a whole lot. On the other hand, Jesus said: "Satan can't RISE UP AGAINST HIMSELF." (Mark 3:26). So...in all due respect, the idea that "Satan is not synonymous with "the Devil", just doesn't hold water. God doesn't make mistakes, so I don't think Jesus was mistaken.
Who is satan... well he is the enemy the accuser the adversary the tempter the one who wants all humankind undone and ruined and destroyed. And will do whatever he can do to make that happen. That is who Satan is. Satan is Satan he became that the moment he was hurled down out of his place he was no longer lucifer the light bearer.
That's the Christian lie
@@kalords5967 you calling Jesus a liar ?... well he the devil SATAN! has already got you deceived you maybe... you shall see in this life or at your physical end. That's if you haven't turned to Jesus by then
@@andrewstidham7950 Yes. Jesus was a liar. Jesus said that he will return during the lifetime of his disciples but he never did. Jesus said that if they ask anything in his name, it will be done. He also promised many things that he failed to deliver. If Jesus was not a liar, who was?
Thank you Michael haiser . R.i.p
Satan is God's solution to man's problem. Man's problem is his sin nature. Satan is God's tool that's perfectly submitted to the will of God. Job 1 & 2 shows this. Isaiah 45:7 KJV is clear.
Revelation 12:9 ESV
And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world-he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
Revelation 12:4 ESV
His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it.
From these verses is implied that the stars perhaps were the fallen angels
What happened to Lucifer?
@@theunclejesusshow8260
Lucifer became the satan the devil the accuser etc ... as a fallen angel.
"How you have fallen from heaven,

You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart,
“I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of the North.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;

@@theunclejesusshow8260 Isn't Lucifer a reference to the king of Babylon? In my opinion this whole concept of a personal Satan or devil is the result of the Zorarastrian influence on 2nd Temple Yahwehism and later Christianity and rabbinical Judaism.
Yes, the stars mentioned here are used as a synonym for the angels that followed Lucifer (fallen angels)
Garden of Eden was a mystery School on Lemuria. Adam was the First Man after the great Fall to be blessed by the Holy Spirit initiated by the Ancient of Days, he was the only one found to have a plum that could sustain a blessing.
This is interesting. But I wonder about the following :
1. Satan is called the accuser in Rev 12:10.
2. Satan is accusing Job in the book of Job.
3. But we aren’t to associate Satan with the being in Job
I don’t know about this.
3.
Apparently "the Messiah" isn't Jesus because of the word "the" 🤯😒
When you have to work SO hard to found the meaning of god's word or you have to go to some academic to glean meaninging, you do not have a personal relationship with god. If Christians 'truly' read, examine, parse the scriptures, they will find that it is a lot different than they believed. It may not destroy anyone's faith by finding another, more accurate interpretation, but it should and will get them started to wonder who is lying, who simpy do not know what they are actually talking about, and why god isn't helping me directly instead of me having to go elsewhere.
So teachers of the Word aren’t a thing then, as mentioned in the Bible?
Here's the dill my brother, you cannot be a liar if what your spouting off is something that you are absolutely convinced is the truth. What you can say is these people spouting off these things that are completely unbiblical have been mislead most likely by fallen angels or demons somewhere at sometime in their lives.
Also, it's wrong to say that because people are searching and looking for meaning that they don't have a personal relationship with Christ.
Bereans in Christ's day listened to what they were told by the disciples then went home and searched the scriptures in order to assertain the validity of what they'd been told.
That's what we are going to have to do now in these last days because "many false prophets preachers and those saying they are from Christ or that they are Christ have come."
It shocks me how that you can ask people (church attending on a regular basis people) questions about the bible and theology and the answers they give for the most part are crazy wacky unbiblical off the wall answers. Meaning they are being taught false doctrine by men who either just do not know themselves or men who are preaching only what they know the people wanna hear. Don't wanna run off the big tithers.

@@truththroughlove1012 Ephesians 4:11-12
@@emmanuelacharithayamim3627 interesting it seems that passage says teachers are, like other leaders of the church, to equip for ministerial aspects and building the body which therefore leads to a maturation into the knowledge of God. This seems different than what we consider a teacher alone to act upon. Instead of teaching about God, it's teaching about using your gifts in spreading the gospel, not a teaching of who God is who a relationship with him. How do you see this text in light of the one I shared earlier?
"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,"

You don't even know Hebrew shut up.
