How Our Neighbors Become Redefined: Reflecting on 'Love Your Neighbor' - EP #50
มุมมอง 85ปีที่แล้ว
What does it truly mean to love your neighbor as yourself? Let's take a journey through the essence of Jesus' teachings, as we dissect the story of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10. Uncovering how this principle, meant to spread love, has been manipulated to erect barriers and sow division, we explore the role of biases in distorting our definition of the word "neighbor". Get ready to challenge ...

By far his most valuable book. Might be less exciting as some of the "Lost World" series, but its much more essential in how to use a consistent methodology. He has many examples that cover all his lost world books. So its worth more than one Lost world book . Yoh wont read the bible the same again. You can do the same as he does

This dude approaches scripture, like he's the first one to see the original text. Any seminary student would hear this and scratch his head at where the problem is. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. And yes, when John connects the word Satan to the adversary in Job, that in the best kind of proof you can have that you understand the adversary of Job as the devil. What Heisner did was actually cast a shadow on far more of scripture over a nothingburger.

The Book of Job is probably the one book that strengthened my faith the most. Not to say the other books didn't but Job really helped a lot of questions I had reading other books. To me, The Satan is completely different from the being called Satan and Devil and Serpent. It's like watching Perry Mason, The Satan is just the prosecutor; he's the bad guy of the defendant, but he's not a _bad_ guy, y'know? A little too Wreck It Ralph for me, but my point is almost made, for Job, and most of us, he's our adversary yet he's not evil. The faces of evil looks different from the one him. My biggest thing that made me doubt my faith was the ideas present in Paradise Lost because every Joe & Jane I know whether into God or not thinks that that book is shorthand for the Bible and it isn't. Old Job in the far away land of Uz has helped me - a someone I truly don't believe he could've ever imagined in his wildest dreams. And Dr. Heiser, how interesting I hadn't heard about you until just a few days ago; I'll have to look into you more. Thank you.

Apparently he couldn’t find it in the Hebrew but it is there in the English. Mike wants to say that the nachash was not the devil or Satan in the the garden but just a shining entity, how does the apostle handle it through inspiration in Cor 11:1-4; 14. These guys go away and spend their lives in schools studying the “originals” and stumble at the plain meaning right in front of their faces. You play with the adversary -Job 41 and you’ll soon be beckoning to his call.

Find identity in Yeshua and the true definition of “Christian” follower of the messiah. Not identity in a church, religion, doctorine, dogma, tradition ect… so what is a Christian, a follower of the Messiah Yeshua, who suffered through it all. So Yes. Keep your faith in Yeshua and not in Christianity. Remember the price paid for you

You guys warn us against confusing questions that might befall the student but then you introduce debatable interpretations yourselves, when the two of you might actually have slight differences. How do you figure that if there isn't a connection between Genesis and Job for us to read that there was no connection? A scholar should resist the urge to say "My interpretation changes things" and spread it to everyone he knows, relying on the strength of his studies to carry him, because an expert may have so many facts people don't know it's interpretation. The Bible tells us that Paul and John were instructed directly by God; if you think they were only inspired by things they read you're in a paradox.

The serpent of Gen 3 was an adversary to God and man. That is evident. Just like Satan, God's names are all descriptive. So your argument against the use of Satan in place of the adversary doesn't hold water. Another point: God's revelation is progressive, from Genesis to Revelation. That's why He revealed Himself to Moses by a name that the ancestors did not know - YHWH. That's why your argument against the New Testament, especially the book of Revelation, is heavily flawed.

Tim Mackie makes a similar point. He suggests that this supernatural being was in God's heavenly council, and it was opposing something akin to works based theology. So, it's the concept of, does Job love God because God has blessed him, or is Job's love legitimate and without strings? What is amazing is that, even after Job lashes out on God by suggesting that he (Job) is better equipped to arbitrate justice and decide that cause and effect should be governed by human standards, after all that, God decides to bless Job. This basically proves how God blesses people for his own pleasure and is willing to allow their faith to be put to the test. The adversary in this story had to get God's permission to do what he did, so it's not as though he is independently powerful. I think that, even though it doesn't fit the typical evangelical Christian framework, we should try to see the point of the story. It's not about how Satan is some big bully. It has to do with God's generosity and his allowing us to strengthen our faith in and with him through testing. It's about a blameless, suffering, servant who withstood an awful test even though He himself had done nothing to deserve it, and after the trial, God absolutely lavished love and blessings on him. Heiser and Macke have good points worth considering, and we should try to read the story the way Jesus would have, even if that differs with the common interpretation.

I really like how he points out that the average Christian in church is “never asked to Think”… But where I disagree with him is when he says that it’s not there fault and it’s not that there dumb lol 😂 Well Rather they are dumb or not is another issue… but they are far from being an innocent victim as he points out! There are always a small percentage of people in the Christian church who don’t play church and or pretend to be something that they are not… These people make a choice to seek after God to invest time reading and studying there bible… Because it matters to them…and the ones who don’t are easily influenced, confused, deceived and or manipulated!…and rightfully so! Unless you are mentally ill and therefore incapable of doing such things, no one has to tell you that you’re required to study further, they already know that! And even if they are a regular church going member at the worst possible church on the planet, with the worlds worst pastors, preacher or whatever… it would be damn near impossible for them not to hear from there pastor, just simply quoting scripture from time to time… that’s it’s required of them by God! In addition to their own common sense! Honestly, I wish people would phase such things correctly by saying well, ungodly people do a great job at exposing fake Christians when they put them in the spot and want to publicly discuss their own bible 😂🤣🤷🏽‍♂️🤡💩🤦‍♀️

It is as Dr Michael says … if ONLY “Christians” would ask questions challenge their own understanding of SCRIPTURE GENESIS TO REVELATION STOP UNDERSTANDING EVERYTHING FROM A Greek-Roman mindset perspective and go to Israrl spend some time thinking and understanding from a Hebrew perspective or listen to Hebrew understanding Messianic Jewish thinking they would totally understand the BIBLE from a different real n true perspective, a living textbook testament to CREATOR’S WAY, IS ONE BOOK THAT THE FRONT IS REPEATED AND LIVED OUT IN THE BACK HALF BY THE ONE WHO’s NAME AND FUNCTION IS SALVATION MEANING SALVATION COME TO BE SAVIOUR TO MANKIND FROM MANKINDS OWN SELF, EXPOSE SIN N WRONG IN FOLKS LIVES TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR BREAKING HIS FATHER CREATOR’s LAWS, BOUNDARIES OF PROTECTION PROVISION N SAFETY N SECURITY AND TO USE HIS CORRECT NAME YHWH ELOHIM, YHWH RAPHA, YHWH YIREH, YHWH TZIDKENU, YHWH MASHIACH/MESSIAH and all His other function names and that of His Son His flesh He sent to SAVE TO OFFER US AFTER WE HUMANS REPENT TO HIM OF ALL WE WRONGED AGAINST HIM sending all we repented of into REMISSION BY DOING AS OUR SAVIOR/MESSIAH DID get fully IMMERSED UNDER WATER AS THE PROCESS OF HEALING N CLEANSING N PURIFICATION via THEM, SALVATION THROUGH ACCEPTING HIM N HIS SON YAHUSHUA/Y’shua/Salvation/SALVATION AND WHAT HE DID FOR US IN THE ACTUAL PHYSICAL DEATH SACRIFICE OF HIS FLESH THAT WE TOO MIGHT RECEIVE HIS RESSURECTED FORM HIS HOLY SPIRIT! This sacrifice is the OT sacrifice of the PASSOVER LAMB AT FEAST OF PASSOVER AND IT IS THE ONLY LAMB SACRIFICE OR THE TORAH LAWS LAW THAT IS COMPLETED …we humans are still subject to living HIS LAWS THAT ARE RELEVANT TO US TODAY ( men n women n children n elderly have laws applicable to only us and then there are laws that are applicable to all) we as humans after salvation process then are taught by The Holy Spirit to sacrifice/discipline out of our life all parts n characteristics of our body out of our body not profitable to our salvation …starts at the REPENTING OF ANY AND ALL SINS AND MAY TAKE YEARS OR MAY BE SUDDEN N IF WE WANT WE CAN FULLY IMMERSE under water AS MANY TIMES AS WE WANT… the Orthodox have from ancient times even until now have a Mikvah tank/pool in their Synagogues where they can go fully immerse under water any time they feel the need and for women they can do it monthly after their menses & after birthing children… humans have always used WATER as a form of cleansing purification its no different to what happendd with the animals that were sacrificed in the Temple days… the sheep or beef were run through a water dip pool tank before being sacrificed …since Y’SHUA’S day humans take to doing their own sacrificing for salvation process by FESSING UP TO YAH REPENTING THEN ACCEPTING HIS WAY PROTECTION LAWS BOUNDARIES N GETTING MIKVAh’D fully immersed in water purified cleansed! “Christians” miss out ON so much by sticking to their narrative n not going back to the front half of the book and learning how our ancestors did things how YAH’S SON MESSIAH YAHUSHUA/Y’SHUA ( who was present at CREATION ) did things YAH HIS FATHER’S WAY! The book of Hebrews in the back half of the BIBLE tellls how it was with the Hebrews for us not to daydream about but to grasp that this BOOK is all ONE BEING EXPRESSED IN SO MANY WAYS SO THAT WE CAN GRASP THE THEORIES GRASP THE CONCEPTS GRASP THE SO MANY WAYS YAH WANTS US TO LIVE HIM AS WE LIVE WITH THEM AFTER WE GET SAVED BY SACRIFICJNG OURSELF OUR EGO OUR SELF CENTERED GREEDINESS N SELFCENTEREDNESS CONTROL N POWER OVER THE WHOSOEVER TO LIVE IN SUBMISSION N RESPECT N RECOGNITION N UNDERSTANDING THAT YAH CREATOR IS IN CONTROL WITH Y’SHUA HIS SON N THEIR HOLY SPIRIT IN HIS POWER N AUTHORITY BENEVOLENCE WITHOUT HIM/YAH N HIS SON’s SACRIFICE WE WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT HIS HOLY SPIRIT WE WOULD BE RELIGATED TO LIES FALSITIES RUMORS SELF NOTHINGNESS UNABLE TO SAVE OUR SELF…having an understanding of some Hebrew language puts a totally different light on mUCH of Scripture and the “BORNAGAIN” experience ( John 3:1-8) and our relationship with YAH, HIS SON OUR SAVIOR WHO SAVES US FROM OUR SELF AND THEIR HOLY SPIRIT THE COMFORTER WHO TEACHES AND LEADS US INTO ALL TRUTH AND REMINDS US OF ALL TRUTH n RIGHTEOUSNESS. ( John 14) ! I testify that YAH N Y’SHUA N THEIR HOLY SPIRIT LIVES and that their WORD/CEPHER IS TRUE AS MUCH TODAY AS EVER…the adversary used adversarial tactics n attacks against me through humans proclaiming to be “my friends” to try to unalive me due to me standing up for TRUTH JUSTICE N PEACE but YAH, Y’SHUA N THEIR RUACH HAKODESH gave me an NDE!!!

Nowhere does it say that "the accuser" wasn't Azazel either. The nature of "the accuser in Job is not consistent with a Son of God who is on YHVH's side. For example "the accuser" tries to get YHVH to violate His nature and harm Job Himself. Note how YHVH says that "you may .... but do not take his life." That behavior is consistent with Azazel the serpent.

But she's correct - the church should be a voting block. I'm sure you agree we, as Christians, should vote. And that vote should be one that minimizes evil and maximizes adherence to Godliness. If one candidate is for abortion up until birth and the other is for a 6 week limit, i'm going with the 6 week limit because that will stop thousands of abortions. If one is moving us more toward communism and government control of our God given rights, I'll go with the other one.
