BTW I think the comment that hurts the most is that as a Mom I'm not trying hard enough. I've trained his older sister, no problem. With autism it's a completely different playing field. Thank you for doing these videos. You have the gift of compassion for us parents
Thank you for saying this. It’s especially hard when your autistic child is your first and so far only child, because you aren’t able to tell yourself “I did a fine job with my non-autistic child so I know it’s not a problem with my parenting.” The question of whether I’m trying hard enough and doing my best for my son never really leaves me.
I used this doc herbs for my son and now my son is completely free, his speaking and behavior is ok. His herbs is 100% working on ASD. I met Dr Oyalo on channel and I’m happy to share my experience about it.
My son is 5 and has autism...and quarantine helped me Complete potty train him. I didn’t use rewards I just got rid of the pull-ups put him on the potty every 20 minutes daily for about 2 weeks, and I would wake him up once through the night...while using his speech device so he could ask, and he caught on...now he just goes into the bathroom or points or asks on his speech device. He has the occasional accident but they are far and few. He can now sleep through the night with no accidents, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. For the parents struggling...it will happen...just be consistent. Good Luck!
Couldn't sleep again last night because worrying about my 5 yr old nonverbal son not being potty trained. Thank you for your kind words of reassurance. There's so much pressure and stigma. I'll need to watch this video more than once
I'm so glad I'm not the only worried mama out there with a 5 y/o boy on the spectrum who isn't potty trained!! Hope things have gotten better for yall!
This is the best video I've seen about potty training a child on the spectrum. My son is non verbal and turning 5 in March. We've been trying since he was 2
Thank you so much for sharing this! My 5 yo is also autistic and potty training has been challenging. When you shared about your son smearing his 💩, it immediately reminded me of my son as well. I don't want my son to feel shame or anxiety at all when it comes to potty training. I could feel the amount of judging eyes whenever I enter a room full of people, some family and friends, staring at my 5 yo in a diaper. Your video has helped me out tremendously. ❤️
Thank you so much for this video. I was crying and beating myself up feeling like a horrible failing mother because I felt I was not doing it correctly and scared that my daughter would always be dependant on others and watching your videos and reading comments of other moms having the same issues made me feel not alone and has given me hope that she will get better. Thank you so much!! ❤❤
I wish I knew more about my son earlier so I could have found this video ❤️ he’s (I don’t know if this is correct to say) “high functioning” autistic spectrum, basically what they used to consider Aspergers. It took until 5 1/2 to be fully potty trained and we just thought he was stubborn and wasn’t ready because he seemed like the average kid in every other way. I was so embarrassed not of him but because I figured I just wasn’t doing a good enough job. I’m still frustrated that we and our pediatrician didn’t figure it out sooner. Everyone kept asking if I had tried sticker charts and rewards as if that wasn’t the first thing we tried. I’m sharing this in hopes that it helps someone similar. Be patient, I thought we’d never get where we are to be honest
Thank you so much for your comment and it’s so true we need to talk about our frustrations and talk about the hot subjects to be able to help our children. You’re an amazing mum
thank you Rosie I also felt that the pediatrician failed us as we kept on going there asking him to check if there is anything not okay about him as we were worried about speach delayed, holding of his ears, humming and still on his nappies he said he does not see anything. we even went to an ENT he also said there is noting wrong with him it just a behavior imagine until we took him to day care when he was 2 1/2 yr and they did and assessment and referred to us to OT and the rest is history.

@@juniormako6184 I’m not looking to “cure” my son. If autism makes up a large part of who he is then I love autism. He needs skills to adapt to a Neurotypical world as much as a neurotypical world needs education to accept him for who he is and make other autistic people more comfortable. It’s their world too why should they have to change to be like everyone else
Thank you. My son has SPD and he's almost 4yo and not yet potty trained. He used to tell us when he had a soiled diaper but as soon as we started visiting the potty he reverted to hiding when he had to poo or pee. I've felt like the most terrible mother for not being able to start this process, as well as having people like my mother yak over how at his age "you were already potty trained". It is very overwhelming but if you have a child with special needs it feels unsurmountable at times. I have the additional pressure of him having to be trained before school in August. Knowing others go through this and are able to find solutions is comforting.
Tara , really good advices!!! I first tried when he was 2...he wasn't ready...2.5 I tried again...I found on internet a 5-step picture guide...put your pants down, sit on toilet, do your weewees/poos, flush, wash hands....I put the pictures in bathroom's wall so everytime I would sit him on his potty he could see the pictures and hear the actions...this help him a lot!!! So my 1st advice would be "Use pictures". 2nd "Try to keep him on the toilet as much possible"...I didn't use bubbles but I used numbers...he could count up to 20, so first I had a paper with the numbers up to 10, after while up to 20 and after while up to 30 (he was sitting on toilet and learning counting at the same time). Every mother can use whatever the kid likes..photos of cars, whatever will keep him as much as possible sitting on the toilet...this is because he needs to get used the feeling of the cold surface... .3rd "After every meal or time that drinks water, take him to sit on the toilet". These are the times that he probably needs the toilet. 4th" Lot of praise!!! for every tiny success!Make it a big deal. Tell to everyone!"...He took me 6 months of trying but he is toilet trained..
Having a 2y4mo old son (my 3rd baby) saying no any word and using the biggest baby nappies I've seen in the market. Preparing myself to start potty training him this summer and can't imagine how it'll work. Cried over this video, feeling how much you've gone through during potty training and your son's whole journey in general.
Thank you for this. My son is 5 and he’s autistic and he’s still not potty trained, I thought I was the only one going through this but I love seeing things like this to know that I am not alone. Thank you for this 💙
E Obst I can’t imagine that must be so difficult my advice to you would be the one at a time is there one that seems more ready than the other also when you try and teach one usually the other one follows I potty trained Luca when he was 2 1/2 Dylan was 5 1/2 almost 6 and he just followed along. It’s almost like he felt the pressure was of him and therefore when he saw his sibling do it he wanted to do it x

@@ComingHometoAutism love the fact that once Luca was potty trained, Dylan decided he had better get with it, or he'll be in diapers while Luca is wearing big boy underpants. This is usually the case although normally reversed with the younger sibling being trained earlier after watching his big brother or sister using the toilet.
You made me feel so much better. You’re right people don’t talk about certain things. So other parents feel odd and embarrassed to talk about it. Thank you!!
I encourage all parents to take care of themselves in addition to their child. If you don't, you're not going to be much use down the road. I've watched the mother of my wife's 4 yo autistic granddaughter go from a vibrant young woman to someone who is withdrawn, depressed, and suffers from skin rashes and hair loss in this same amount of time. My wife and I see Luna 4-5 times a week and do what we can so the parents can have some limited rest. I'm glad I stayed in decent shape at 66 so I can pull Luna 2-3 miles in her Radio Flyer wagon when she comes over. I love her so much.

Thank you for this video i have a 4 year old non verbal boy and he refuses to potty train and the tantrums are so real. My daughter was potty trained before a year old but now with my baby on the spectrum its a whole new world we both are learning together daily.
Just found your channel and I love it! My son is 17, severely autistic, non verbal and the most beautiful soul I have ever met in my life! I've been watching your videos with your husband and we went through it all. I know you are talking about toilet training and I thought my son would never get there. We were lucky enough that his 1st grade teacher took it on. She took him to the bathroom every so often whether he needed to go or not. If he went he got something that was fantastic to him, in our case, it was M&M's. he was very motivative by this. She did this everyday for a week and boom, he was trained!! Good luck to everyone out there dealing with this, it will happen! xo

Very blessed to have found your channel. My son is 3 and he is still not diagnosed but every doctor we have seen has told us he has autism. I am learning how to help him and understand him every day. Your videos really help me to understand more and help me help him.
This video was great. I am a parenting specialist. Today, I used this video to teach a class. The information was excellent. I have a child with special needs as well. One of the problems we had was smearing. I did not have anyone to help me in the early 90's so I had to do everything on my own. Now, I help parents with all kinds of parenting challenges. I am seeing more parents who are court ordered for parenting class come in with children who are on the autistic spectrum. Thank you for your video. I subscribed!
Great video and perfect timing, we have just started potty training with our nearly 7 year old. We tried many times over the last couple of years but she showed absolutely no interest. So now we are trying again and we finally got her to sit on the toilet this week! Yay! Small step I know, but it's progress and it's amazing. Like you said it might take a long time but we will eventually get there. 👍

I'm so glad I saw this video. My almost 5 year old daughter with ASD isn't potty trained yet and I was getting concerned because someone told me that after 5 or 6 years they will lose the ability to control their bladder for the rest of her life lol
Don't feel bad mine is currently working on it still and she's also 4. It's hard because she doesn't communicate it yet so I been thinking of trying a PECS system for her since I know visual help her.

I'm so glad for your video. The reason why I'm watching this is because my son is 5 and he just got diagnosed not to long ago and he is in school full time for the first time and he is non verdad and the teacher at school was mad because he is not potty trained and even got a phone call from the principal today and make me feel frustrated because I don't know what to do. At home my son doesn't really like to used the bathroom and is frustrated. Now I'm going to try to do some of the things you mentioned.
Yup the struggle was real, we started when James was 3 #1 came pretty easy but was inconsistent, i never thought he would get it, and i kept praying he would get it #2 i mean before he started kindergarten, he finally got it the summer before he started school, and since has never had a accident. #2 was so much harder he finally got it when i left him alone, we were so proud, but now if i let him he would sit on the toilet literally for an hr or more, in the beginning however I couldn’t get him to sit for a minute.

It is so nice to know my babies are not the only ones. It is also nice to hear someone else follows Dr. Temple Grandin. She is AMAZING! Like I said before you are doing a great job.
Ugh. Im searching because I've failed miserably. My 7 1/2 yr old Grandson, limited verbal (parrots some) Brain Cancer patient with 2 major surgeries left partial paralyzed, feeding tube so food rewards do not work. Thank God he doesn't smear. Want NOTHING to do with the toilet at all. Thank you for the Toilet ONLY toy tip. I'm excited to try that one. God bless all of you with this journey.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing these tips. My son will be 5 this summer and potty training has been rough. This video makes me feel more hopeful and informed. May God bless you and your family
Aww !! I love the bubble idea ! ❤ tysm, this helped me very much. My son is turning 6 very soon and felt the pressure from others to start potty training. It’s okay they don’t understand. But thank you so much for giving me the peace of mind. Us moms can too hard on ourselves. Take care and God bless ❤you
You’re one amazing lady... I have a friend who’s struggling with a 5 year old and still she’s not sure if he’s Autistic or is it something else... He’s doing speech therapy, but it’s hard. I hope she also finds your video helpful 🙏🏻 God bless ❤️

Thank you you had answer soo many questions that I had, I'm a mom of and Autistic boy he is 6 yr old also ADHD and his brother is 7 yrs and also has ADHD and cognitive delay, so is hard for me because I have to train both and I know that is has to be done with both at the same time. I've been looking for ideas and strategies in how to start potty training once again for the X time I've tried in the past both without any success , so thank you for your advise I'm glad i found your channel
My daughter is 8 years old not pottied trained she’s Autistic nonverbal. Strangely she was peeing in pottied but since Pandemic now she’s not peeing in potty at all. But she’s on it. Thank you so much, for making this video.
I could cry! Coming across your video has been an absolute god send. I struggled with smearing for a while and thankfully my almost 4 year old seems to have stopped. The issue we are having now is that he seems to unaware he needs to go to the toilet. He uses the toilet when prompted and is brilliant about it, loves the routine of it but sensory issues seem to be problem. I'm going to give the app a go and see if it helps with giving him some way of communicating that he needs to go. Thank you!
Hi, tara my son was potty trainer by 4 he is still non verbal. I use Reinforcement like the iPad. He only got the iPad when he use the toilet. 1st it was when he pee he got the iPad 10 minutes. And if he did a poo he got it for 20 minutes.
I really needed to find these videos today, my son has started smearing and I’m struggling. Thank you so much for taking such a personal approach when making this video you’ve really helped me feel better x

This woman is wonderful and beautiful just stunning really!
THANK YOU!!! My grandson just stopped smearing,he's almost 4 years old. My daughter is on the Spectrum as well. I'm able to deal with him much better than she. He's a wonderful boy who is now speaking and even reading. I appreciate your videos and sharing your stories as well as your knowledge.
Hi Dylan Tell your mommy thank for helping me with my grandson Dj . Dj is 4 yrs old, his birthday was today . I really enjoy your videos. Thank you again Linda from Ct Usa 😁🇺🇸
As part of my research on ASD, I have been following your videos. My daughter is on the spectrum and I had tried at different stages to potty train her which failed. I wanted to try again this year as she was about to turn four and I wanted to be prepared. I decided to get your book "coming home to autism". Initially, as I was reading the potty training section of the book, I thought to myself, this is not what I am looking for. I was wrong! I jumped the gun too quickly. I want to let you know that section became a game-changer for us (especially the Ava Kids App you recommended). I got the app installed on my daughter's tablet, and after 3 days, I made a breakthrough. My daughter just turned four years a couple of weeks ago and it's been one month of potty training and she gets it now. She can wipe after pee, but still working on the wiping after a poo. There are still accidents once in a while when she gets engrossed in playing but, I am so thankful for the progress after trying and failing a couple of times. Sorry for writing too long, I just wanted to say thank you soo much for sharing with us and your book has proven really helpful in our journey with our daughter.
Thank you for sharing these useful tips. We have found this to be a tricky issue..... my little boy is speech delayed (started speaking 2yrs 9 months) so doesn't converse.... therefore when we started this journey in February when he turned 3... he was happy to wear pants, just said "floor wet" and hasn't really grasped toilet training yet. X

My boy turned 10 last week- tried several times when he was younger. He’s in pads and nappies. Next week I’m on a two week sabbatical as the summer hols start. But this time I’m more engaged as he is my job for the next two weeks. It will get messy. His brothers will not be happy. And despite being on sabbatical, in pandemic and other work elements will intrude (eg interviewing someone from home...) - so her we go. And he’s ten - but he tells me he’s filled his nappy for the last 6 months - so there might be a chance. He’s gorgeous by the way and his vocabulary exploded in the last few months
hey there, thats a really good sign. I dont go on age i throw out the rule book when it comes to development they all develop differently. One girl i interviewed was 15 when she got out of nappies. good luck with it all x
I just want to say thank you so much for your content and for this video! I had never heard of this app and it has been a big hit! Would love to see a video on apps you use/have used. Fabulous video and fabulous channel! THANK YOU TARA!
I so needed this! My autistic son is nonverbal, 4, isn't potty trained and has similar behaviors you described. My daughter is 2 and neurotypical and just started potty training a few weeks ago. I still don't think he's ready. I definitely appreciate you saying their on their own timeline and all the tips!
Thank you so much for your video, it is such a relief to know others are going through similar situations. I appreciate you offering solutions as well. We got the "See me go Potty" app right away, he watched over and over. Thanks for giving us hope. We know our permanent hope is when God's will is done on Earth(obviously all this isn't his will) as mentioned in the Lord's prayer. But until then we appreciate all the help we can get.🙂
I have autism I was nonverbal till 9, and potty training was terrible. I still remember at 36.I wish my mum never used a potty and just got the seat you can't put to make it smaller. I used colour fruit loops for my autistic male cousin and got him to draw on table tennis balls. Put them in the toilet they don't flush away and get him to slowly aim for the fruit loops or ball. Yup, smell is a big thing. Keep the bathroom colours, not to bright calming colours work
I really loved your video! The poo smearing at the villa and the phone into the toilet when he took himself made me laugh. Thank you for being so real. You have great information and encouragement.
This is such a great video! Thank you 😊 my son is 4 pre verbal will pee on toilet but refuses to poop. He can hold it for days. The second I put him in a pull up he will poop.
Hi Tara, hello from Russia, your channel is amazing, thank you! Best wishes for you and your family! We’ve just started our path and your videos are really helpful
I was very worried since my son is turning 4 yrs soon and still on his nappies, I started potty training him after he turned 1 year I saw that he was not ready I will stop and start again but still his not ready. he started a new school since we recently found that he is Autistic, thank you very much I will use skills that you have share once he is settled at school.
Omgggggg i did not know it was a sensory thing... my 4yr old use to do it when he was 2. Our 2yr old who just turn 3 likes to put his hands back there period while sucking his thumb 🤯 lol our 3yr old walks around bouncing when he has to poo so we try to run him to the toilet ASAP. Our 4yr old was potty trained a week before his 3rd bday. We just needed to be consistent and random with him. Sending him to the potty all the time.
Wondering if you have any advice for me, since I’ve reached out to everyone I can think of and everyone just keeps telling me “I don’t know” 🥺 My son will be 5 in August and when the stay at home order happened from Covid (March 2020) we decided it was time to try potty training. Per the recommendation of his occupational therapist we prompted him to go every hour, then every two hours and finally every 2-3 hours. It worked wonderfully for about 9-10 months, no accidents! He started preschool and has only had two accidents at school, the last was over 4 months ago. Super super proud of him! However... he started having accidents at home a few months ago. Because of this, we were told to stop prompting him, so he could learn his own body. Now that we are no longer prompting him to go, he is having many many accidents at home.. still no accidents at school. I don’t know the proper way to handle this. If I keep prompting him, he is likely not going to have accidents.. but will he ever learn to go on his own and listen to his body? We have baby brother joining us this summer, I’m sure that’s cause for the regression/accidents.. but I don’t want to be cleaning up big brothers accidents while trying to heal from delivery if I can help it.

👍I love this video. It gives me hope knowing that one day it will happen. My son is non verbal, shows no interest at all using PECS, he will be 6 next month. I cried a lot last week as he smeared his poo everyday. I am lost to how to start as i have no hint from him. And when i try & time it to take him to the toilet he becomes scared of sitting on the toilet. Refuses to sit & wants to live the bathroom. Any suggestion will help me. Thx
You are Godsent, thanks for your amazing videos, I am tired of buying expert books and I have no time to be reading them! Sending you lots of love and positive energy to you and your wonderful family. 🥰
I'm so grateful for finding this video. I've been overwhelmed and embarrassed about my daughter's poo smearing and have been on youtube tiktok Instagram for about a year finding out any information about it and how to clean it and nothing. Until yesterday I just couldn't take it anymore and created my own concoction to clean it up and finally I'm able to breathe. Now I'm getting new flooring put in her room to make clean up easier. I want to potty train her but she has a fear of sitting down on the toilet so wondering if I should hold off until she's comfortable enough to sit on the toilet?

Hello This is the first time watching your video. thank you so much for the detail information. you did a really good job in explaining it in detail and the things to look out for very well explained. 💛💛💛
@@ComingHometoAutism thank you! my son just turn 7 years old he was diagnose with down syndrome at the age of 4 years old and just this last december he was also diagnose with Autism witch i do not agree with the diagnosis. i look forward to learning more with your videos
I've been asking my doctor if my twin boys had autism they keep saying no. there are things they do that normal kids just don't do. 1. freak out to change their diapers they kick and cry. 2. throw their food on the floor if you touch it or try to hand them food they will throw it across the Livingroom. 3. their blankets they will not sleep with no other blanket they will stay awake until they get their blanket back. 3. I say to my son Elijah hello hi Elijah he will get mad and run and hide from me. they are not talking still like other kids their age. they repeat words they recognize words on the t.v. and colors. they freak out about brushing their teeth until they are ready to do it. i'm having a really hard time with the boys and I don't know if its just them being brats or something more serious.
This is my second consecutive video of yours that I watched. My son has a habit of smearing his poop everywhere and no one can relate with their kids. As gross as it is- I’m happy someone else has gone through the same thing and can laugh about it. I’m coming to terms with my son’s diagnosis slowly but I’m glad that there are people that understand the situation. Also what therapies does Dylan get and when did he start speaking (conversationally)? My son just turned 3. Thank you for your helpful, calming videos 😊😊

My daughter is not potty trained, she is about six, she isn't non-verbal but she does have a lot of trouble with getting some words out we do have a communication device for her just in case for any situations,We have tried to go straight to underwear didn't work we went to the pull ups they didn't work a lot but they did work a couple times.. A couple of suggestions I would recommend for any child who is starting potty training, just try to go straight to whatever your child needs and if they aren't ready then don't push them though, because they will get it eventually my daughter is almost potty trained..
I have a suggestion to start one thing at a time. I have started my kids to wash them on toilet after they go pee or poo( in diaper offcourse), everytime i change their diaper i wash them with water first. I have spray bidet. So now they are already used to go and sit on toilet seat and used to get washed. I am gonna start potty train them this summer. 4 1/2 yr old and 3 yr old both autistic. Hopefully it goes well. And i have an other suggestion that if you have to use pullup(yes its hard to wash carpet after kids pee and it smells bad) use underware first before putting on the pullups. So when they go they still feel the wet underware but pullups will soak the extra pee. And i learned to take your child to bathroom every half hr or so, dnt wait too long bcz otherwise they ll have an accident.
I have five children and three of them have autism my 35-year-old daughter used to do that a lot with her poop. She was having it all over the place on the walls everywhere plus clogging up my toilet but now she is so much better and cleaner withher yourself. My grand daughter is 3 and non verbal having a hard time with potty training her too.
I have been binge watching your videos for the last hour or 2, and have never felt more seen. Was in the grocery store at the check out trying to hold back tears (one of those periods were in, my 3 year old has been regressing, barely eats, we’ve been warned he may need a feeding tube or peg I think it’s called, and after weeks/months of the same, and being strong, and a single mum, it’s hard… and then right when I was afraid I was going to start crying at the checkout, with my headphones on, listening to this video, you started to talk about Dylan smearing his poo lol and I had the biggest smile on my face, this is the journey lol and you gotta laugh. You feel like family, we think so similarly, just wanted to pop in and say how grateful I am for you sharing this with the world, new fan here from Australia 🇦🇺 (half British lol) so much love for this channel, and glad you are sharing your talents here and helping likeminded souls xoxoxo
Omg I felt so alone when my son use to smear his poop and sometimes put it in his mouth! To hear you talk about this gave me relief it’s been so hard catching him before he smears it he is 3 and we are in the potty training process but I’m starting to feel defeated 😞
BTW I think the comment that hurts the most is that as a Mom I'm not trying hard enough. I've trained his older sister, no problem. With autism it's a completely different playing field. Thank you for doing these videos. You have the gift of compassion for us parents
Hey there I know it’s so hard but your doing a great job Xox
Thank you for saying this. It’s especially hard when your autistic child is your first and so far only child, because you aren’t able to tell yourself “I did a fine job with my non-autistic child so I know it’s not a problem with my parenting.” The question of whether I’m trying hard enough and doing my best for my son never really leaves me.
I’m watching this for my baby brother and I learned a lot and maybe I can be a better brother and friend to what he needs and wants
I used this doc herbs for my son and now my son is completely free, his speaking and behavior is ok. His herbs is 100% working on ASD. I met Dr Oyalo on channel and I’m happy to share my experience about it.

Ur so
Sweet and a great brother. He is so lucky to have you. God bless you both
My son is 5 and has autism...and quarantine helped me Complete potty train him. Good Luck!
amazing well done you x
@@ComingHometoAutism thanks same to you!
@@ComingHometoAutism could you please link the videos on how you expanded your sons food variety. My son only likes baby food and chips.
Hello, what speech device are you referring to please? I have a 3yr old autistic child and I need all the advice and help I can get. Thanks
Couldn't sleep again last night because worrying about my 5 yr old nonverbal son not being potty trained. Thank you for your kind words of reassurance. There's so much pressure and stigma. I'll need to watch this video more than once
you literally took the words out of my mouth...i feel the exact same about my 5 yr old non-verbal daughter
I am in the same journey of my 5 year non verbal son
Good morning going through same with my 6year old autistic kid
Same here ladies *virtual hug*
I'm so glad I'm not the only worried mama out there with a 5 y/o boy on the spectrum who isn't potty trained!! Hope things have gotten better for yall!
Give more likes to this beautiful lady plz she deserves more

Great tips!!💜👏
This is the best video I've seen about potty training a child on the spectrum. My son is non verbal and turning 5 in March. We've been trying since he was 2
You made me feel so incredibly relieved
🥰
Seriously! It’s been in my mind to potty traine and I’ve just be so scared of the failure. But now I see it as it takes time and that’s okay.
Me too
Thank you so much for sharing this! ❤️
Did u try the tummy massage potty training method keep him in diapers or pull ups
You got this! Your doing so well never doubt your self x
I need to get my child potty trained
thank you Rosie I also felt that the pediatrician failed us as we kept on going there asking him to check if there is anything not okay about him as we were worried about speach delayed, holding of his ears, humming and still on his nappies he said he does not see anything. we even went to an ENT he also said there is noting wrong with him it just a behavior imagine until we took him to day care when he was 2 1/2 yr and they did and assessment and referred to us to OT and the rest is history.

Your soul is so radiant! Thank you for being so transparent and supportive. Your a Heaven Send:)
bless you thank you x
Having a 2y4mo old son (my 3rd baby) saying no any word and using the biggest baby nappies I've seen in the market. Preparing myself to start potty training him this summer and can't imagine how it'll work.
Cried over this video, feeling how much you've gone through during potty training and your son's whole journey in general.

Thank you for this. My son is 5 and he’s autistic and he’s still not potty trained, I thought I was the only one going through this but I love seeing things like this to know that I am not alone. Thank you for this 💙
Thank you for this. We have 5 year old twin girls (both on the spectrum) and it has been overwhelming trying to potty train them both. ❤️
Coming Home to Autism your video has given me a bit of hope. And thank you for responding to my comment. Thank you 🙏🏻

@@ComingHometoAutism love the fact that once Luca was potty trained, Dylan decided he had better get with it, or he'll be in diapers while Luca is wearing big boy underpants. This is usually the case although normally reversed with the younger sibling being trained earlier after watching his big brother or sister using the toilet.
the same here
You made me feel so much better. You’re right people don’t talk about certain things. So other parents feel odd and embarrassed to talk about it. Thank you!!
sending love
I know this is a year old video but this is extremely helpful. I am so happy to have found this video
Thankyou soo much and we can finally relax knowing we are not alone in this 👍🏻💕

Good luck to everyone out there dealing with this, it will happen! xo

Thank you very much, love from a mother in Denmark🙏🙏🙏❤
You make it sound so normal .Thank you my son is autistic and he is 5 year old in nappies
I love that you said - get rid of the typical age expectations. Talk about lifting the pressure. Thank you.

Why do some kids with severe autism still wear diapers as teenagers or young adults even after they've been potty trained

That’s awesome x

Is he understand all this?

This is honestly amazing and thank you for sharing your story with us. And I’m delighted it has helped! Well done you xox
What’s the actual apps name please?
Thank you for sharing these useful tips. We have found this to be a tricky issue..... my little boy is speech delayed (started speaking 2yrs 9 months) so doesn't converse.... therefore when we started this journey in February when he turned 3... he was happy to wear pants, just said "floor wet" and hasn't really grasped toilet training yet.
Coming Home to Autism thanks. He’s in underpants but he’s finding a way to get his Inco pad on by himself. He’s a wily fox that boy of mine 😂

🥰

This video was so helpful, thank you xxx
Wondering if you have any advice for me, since I’ve reached out to everyone I can think of and everyone just keeps telling me “I don’t know” 🥺
My son will be 5 in August and when the stay at home order happened from Covid (March 2020) we decided it was time to try potty training.

Thx
Thank you much, this video was so helpful. My son is 3 half and he scream when he see the potty. He won’t sit on it.

Hi welcome to our channel we hope you like our videos and they can help you in some way x
@@ComingHometoAutism thank you! my son just turn 7 years old he was diagnose with down syndrome at the age of 4 years old and just this last december he was also diagnose with Autism witch i do not agree with the diagnosis. i look forward to learning more with your videos
I am overwhelmed
I've been asking my doctor if my twin boys had autism they keep saying no. there are things they do that normal kids just don't do. 1. freak out to change their diapers they kick and cry. 2. throw their food on the floor if you touch it or try to hand them food they will throw it across the Livingroom. 3. their blankets they will not sleep with no other blanket they will stay awake until they get their blanket back. 3. I say to my son Elijah hello hi Elijah he will get mad and run and hide from me. they are not talking still like other kids their age. they repeat words they recognize words on the t.v. and colors. they freak out about brushing their teeth until they are ready to do it. i'm having a really hard time with the boys and I don't know if its just them being brats or something more serious.
always trust your gut instinct mama always knows best. so keep on pushing x
This video is soooo good. New sub.
Thank you for your helpful, calming videos 😊😊
hey there we have to laugh really dont we. if you watch my mile stone video with dylan you can see when he spoke and what i do to help him xx

Thank you 🙏🏼 for the real talk
Thank you so much for this video helped so I'm starting potty trainning this has helped me so much
You are so welcome!
Oh lovely I hear you and see you. I’m so pleased my videos are helping you. Please never feel alone because your not . ❤️
Omg I felt so alone when my son use to smear his poop and sometimes put it in his mouth! To hear you talk about this gave me relief it’s been so hard catching him before he smears it he is 3 and we are in the potty training process but I’m starting to feel defeated 😞
Thank you so much....this is the best video have seen on this topic....
You are most welcome
