For someone only seeing that one clip I can see how it seems it escalated to quickly. But they've been playing this angle ever since Pat has worked for NXT. So that was actually a blow up 2 years in the making.
I liked the watch along Wrestlemania shows Pat did for a couple years. Not much for him but the set up and interactions ... It was cool.

@Randell Howard IV I just assumed you use “indie” when the guy established his name on the independents. Like I get Owens and Cole being called “indie darlings”. But AJ Styles was already one of the best in TNA and really established his legacy in NJPW.

They’ve also done 2 or 3 PPV watch alongs and preshows, it’s been hilariously established that Cole hates Pat McAfee 😂🤣😂... Pat is a long time wrestling fan with a good relationship with HHH. Pat even has a wrestling ring in his podcast compound...

The whole thing is an interesting one until i have seen HHH got on the Podcast to say that Pat and Adam should come together at some stage if he is in the florida area so i think its confirmed that maybe at summerslam or the NXT Takeover they will get in on in the ring since we know that pat has signed a multi year contract with wwe (think its one till 2024 but have to check if it was 24 or 23). I hope its not an attempt of keeping cole in NXT without something after that one cause we know he is not that hot going up to the main roster but i hope that the par story will maybe evolve in a bigger story like the Undisputed Era match we all want to see which is Cole vs Roddy Strong. After that i think we have to say bye bye to bay bay in NXT atleast for some time.

Cole doesn’t look as small in NXT because most of the guys he wrestled were all just as tall as he was. Ciampa, Balor, Gargano, Strong, O’Reilly, Black, and Ricochet look like the JV league compared to the main roster guys.
People believed this because WWE talent were just allowed to use the word shit on social media in 2019 and he was dropping f bombs ala ROH Adam Cole plus Adam is openly self conscious about his size on shoot interviews lol
