you make it sound extremely complicated and difficult but learning grammar is not how people learn language fast, the way to learn a language fast is to acquire it, learn the way babies do, just babble regardless of mistakes you might make.
This language is a slavic language, not a indic language. Both descends from Indo-European. Hindi, Punjabi, Pali, Bengali descend from Sanskrit, not Slovene. Slovene descends from Old Church Slavonic/Old Bulgarian, like russian.
I have a friend in Canada who always bursts out laughting when she hears us say "FacebookU"....she's like what's with the "Facebooku" :D I could never explain to her over her laughing, but in any case [pun unintended] - I've recently watched a video about the Hungarian language and until that video I thought Slovenian language was hard, but it isn't. Hungarian is crazy complex.
Do you really think the first two gori pronunciations are different? I've replayed that part dozens of times over a few days and still don't hear it. Is it possible Slovenes just use context clues?
The difference between these two 'O's is almost like in english words common and over. The first o is long and wide, and the second is short and narrow - if that makes sense. She just said them a little too fast for you to notice.
Would you add some content to LingQ, the Steve Kaufmann site? Slovene desperately needs grammar imbibing tools with audio connected. LingQ is the best for this.

Hey. Singular, dual and plural only ? Nope. Almost all Slavic languages have different counting for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. En zvezek, dva zvezka, trije zvezki, štirje zvezki, pet zvezkov. And even the numbers change for each gender. Tri krave. Trije zvezki.
Makedonski Albanci ja, Kosovarji pa bolj slabo. Se pozna razlika, če živiš v Makedoniji ali pa na Kosovu.Tudi sami se med sabo razlikujejo in včasih tudi ne marajo. Oboji pa ne marajao preveč "divjih" Skipetarjev iz Albanije.
It acutally isn't that hard for somebody who knowns another slavic language. As a Serb I already understand 50% Slovenian and then I just have to learn gramm. I did it and it wasn't really hard, because it is similar to Serbian. Cases for the male gender are the same 🤣. Dual was the hardest thing at the start and I hated it. We also have something like that in Serbian but we don't call it for special gender category. For example, we have "Nas dvojica" (Midva) for two mans, "Nas dve" (medve), for two woman, "Nas dvoje"(Midva) if we're mixed. It also exists in Slovak but there's no cases and speical gender category... Accents aren't that hard, because we have something similar. Serbian helped me a lot for learning Slovenian. I can't even imagine how hard it is for somebody who speaks English, German, French..... It is beautiful language and I like it 😁
I'm a French native speaker and Slovene is the toughest language I've come across. I've learned japanese to an intermediate level, and Chinese to an advanced level and Slovene is hands down harder than these 2. I doubt any non slavic speaker can ever learn that language passed 20 without messing up the declensions.
Dual is not just nouns "nasdvoje" but also verbs. And I know that you have the same form for plural and "dual": vasdvoje idete and "vi idete". Idete is the same. In our language is "midva greva" and "mi gremo". Just Lausitz Sorben in Germeny have almost the same form. One guy from Lithuania told me that they have in their language too. After I have showed him example, he said that I had right. And we have two defferent E, which one you couldn`t pronounce. Also three O etc. But your language has other letters Ć (for me is no problem), Đ (that is more problem to use Đ or DŽ - Đak or djak). So each language has some unique.

you make it sound extremely complicated and difficult but learning grammar is not how people learn language fast, the way to learn a language fast is to acquire it, learn the way babies do, just babble regardless of mistakes you might make.
ten rozdiel vo vyslovnosti medzi ve a vi je ledva badatelny :)
I from SLOVENIA. I can you teach a SLOVENIAN leanguice
U should learn english language
This language descended from Sanskrit, so it makes sense that it's difficult to learn.
@@klekos6915 This three words are family. First as you could read UP, cecond is mountain and third is fire. It is logical, at rising sun all mountains (picks) are red like thjey burning. Pity that shedidn`t write some words to pronounce: cmrlj, vrv, krt, smrt, prt, vrt etc. It is very funny for strangers (not to them) to pronounce first one.
Sorry for my English. I was always better at dictation at German. It`s more logical. As Slovene too.
@@bojanstare8667 Would you do a course about your native pronunciation or your dialect on Memrise? It's open to anyone and it's free.
I am slovinian and I live her in Slovenia

Super videi
this video should 2-5 times longer to get a sense of rules
josseph if you needed to get a sense of rules it would be 20 mins longer at least
Find Slovenian girl and stay for some years to improve it.
Nice
I dunno exactly why but to my ear Slovenian sounds better than Slovene and it's not cuz of the bad connotations of adjective slovenly, Slovene just doesn't have a ring to it.
"slovenian is hard"
me who speaks bosnian: good joke
Desi brate moj. Nisam mislio da ce bit balkanaca ovdje
"difficult" language? what do you mean? mostly every child learns it...
Children learn every language easy. Adult don't. I just moved in Slovenia and I am trying do learn the basics. I can english, german and my mother language is albanian, but slovenian seems to be really dificult. Dual form i see for the first time.
@@arlindadragaj449 res je, slovanski jeziki zahtevajo kvantni um.
Kvantni um ? Are you saying a dirty mind ? It gives more trouble to learn + 2 other personal pronouns 😊, however I found it beautiful.
@@arlindadragaj449 It`s very rare form of verbs. Just two language in Evrope has it. One is Slovene, Chakavski and Kajkavski dialect are just Slovene. And Sorbian near Berlin in Germany. But still Slavic.

Well, dual pronouns is bit more logical than in old church slavonic with midva, midve = vě; vidva, vidve = va; ondva = ona, onidve = oně.
Hello,I am Slovenian and I currently live in Slovenia and and even if I am slovenian I dont understand my own language😂
Ja nauc se
You'll seem well if you speak more slowly. Don't worry your content is great.
I am slovenian
great video! slovenian is a fascinating language

Nothing is impossible, the problem it's that you don't know how to explain....
Oh, I’m sorry if I didn’t explain it properly. I think I was too focused on just listing out things that can be difficult about Slovene and didn’t put enough time into the explanation. Thanks for pointing it out! Will try to better it next time. 😊
@@tjasagrabnar315 thank you... and I wish a beautiful new year to you 😚😊🙋♂️👨💼
