      (1) Sony (Best ANC, second best Sound)
      (2) Jabra (i don't have the build issue, maybe something in your model, best "compromise" for me, and that for lowest price - and the EMEA version has APT-X for some reason)
      (4) Marshall Monitor (would be first because of sound quality, but bluetooth range is horrible)
      (5) Momentum III (just awesome looks, but sound is a bit disappointing and i had Momentum II before, and battery lost capacity very fast)
      Edit: I just learned the Jabra have 2 different models (Americas and EMEA/Asia). The US model is horrible, the EMEA model is great. Not shure why GN does this.
      The Airpods Max ... well, at that price range they have to compare to Studio Headphones - and they loose badly.

    it is a pity that Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95 and Bowers & Wilkins PX7 were not included in this test.
    The PX550 II has the same functions that you mentioned in Sony. You can pause the music and talk to another person without removing your headphones. In addition, it has modes such as: movie, speech ... Thanks to this, when you hear, for example, a podcast, speech is much better heard.
    It's strange that you didn't include this information in the test.

    Excellent video. Really in depth and well laid out. I guess preference is probably more prevalent than actual sound fidelity. I have had the Sony’s and own the Apple AirPods Max. As far as pure sound, I don’t think anything is close to the Apple AirPods Max. The soundstage on them is the best I’ve ever heard on a pair of Wireless Bluetooth ANC’s. It’s just astounding, and I noticed it the second I tried them. Whereas the Sony’s soundstage, though good, sounds more clumped together, the APM’s soundstage is unbelievable, it’s like the way music would sound live, the way musicians would want it to sound. I went from the Sony’s which I LOVED more than my beloved Bose, to the APM, and have never looked back.
    As far as the Sony’s, they have great bass, and great battery life, and great ANC, but I HATED the touch controls, just didn’t work great.

    amazing video, thank you for helping me pick between the Bose 700, momentum 3 & the XM4 ... ordering the XM4s now.
    You also forgot to mention that the Sennheiser Momentum 3 can only be turned off by folding them, if you leave them hanging around neck or on a headphone stand unfolded they only go to standby and the battery drains

    • @lucrosss
      @lucrosss 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can turn them off manualy. When you open them and you don’t want them to go on, simply push the play & pause button while opening them for 4 seconds and they won’t turn on so you can let them around your neck. In that way, they are off. So if you were listening to music you need to close them and re open them while pushing the button.

    • @bblair502
      @bblair502 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't seem to be widely known that the Momentum 3's can be powered off without folding them up. Hold down the "play/pause" button for 5 seconds or so. You will hear "Power Off" as confirmation. To power back on, you will need to fold up the headphones and then open them back up. Works great and useful for those that want to put these on a regular stand.

    I'm interested In the Korg NCQ1. Designed with the DJ in mind but they have some very interesting features.
    Nothing in this category is ever going to beat the DAC + amp + premium headphone audio experience but to me there are very specific reasons why you you go for and over ear wireless headphone as opposed to high end in ears and thats .. superior music quality, comfort and longer battery life.
    I get it that fashion is a big thing for people in this "look at me" world, but over appearance and general aesthetics, if you're using these outside today how well they work with glasses, hats (even face masks) are considerations.
    As it is with life I suppose, the more research I do the less certain I become ;(

    Wooooow Mike!!!! What a compendious, rich and punctual review!!!!! It's craved me. It made a REAL comparison between the most clare staples of their industry home. It was a "scientifical" assignation of verdicts to any of the cans in each category, and it really felt like to hold them, to know them, to TRY them at the hi-fi store... through you!!!
    And yet you have been so critic and rational, but still conveyed the passion for these objects of desire...that I share too :-)
    So... really, boy, keep truly up.
    This video is worth TEN or more other videos of others blathering of this and that, but they don't trace any line, any datum, any precise verdict, even if a personal 'n subjective one.
    Tomorrow I'm receiving the second one of this list, the nc700, and I'm so looking forward to put my hands on it...💥💥💥

      It's much better on my Android as it supports LDAC which iPhones don't support, also which iPhone model?
      LDAC actually improves the sound quality by extending the soundstage.
      It's pointless to buy this if you're only listening to either mp3s or Spotify as they're heavily compressed.
      This headphones is meant for people who use TIDAL or any other Hi-Fi audio streaming service that allows you to hear the full audio quality.
      Plus, it has a very flat sound signature for advanced tuning especially for musicians and those who tune manually.
      It's especially good for classical, metal and rock music which have lots of different instruments for the wide soundstage but not so much for those with not a variety of instruments.

    In the "Additional review notes" section (in the text info), you list a category of "Can USB cable be used for audio?". If I understand the rest of it, it seems that the Sennheiser Momentum 3 is the only headphone where there is any comment on that, and on those you list "Works with USB cable OR Aux". But based on other reviews I've seen, I believe the same can be said about the Sennheiser PXC-550 II -- am I right on that? Do any of the other headphones support audio over USB? Do all of these except the the Airpods Max support audio over an aux cable?

    I own the Momentum 3s and I love them. Yes, they are heavier and yes, they tend to be a little lacking when it comes to ANC but I work in a crowded office and I happen to have no issues with the ANC. The Sonys just feel weird. I was at a store trying all of them and the lightness is a benefit, but the cushion on the headband just feels cheap. I have beyer dynamics at home so I have an audiophile option here. I just do not feel like the Sonys will hold up for a long time. Just personal feelings though. The Sennheisers sound amazing, they feel comfortable enough for me and I mainly where them in the winter, so I do not mind warm ears 😂 During summer days I use the Momentum True Wireless II. Also a great recommendation on those. 🙃

      Weird thing about they Sony's is that they're MUCH more durable than they look. When I first bought them I didn't think they felt very premium or durable. Now after a year and a half, they still look like I bought them yesterday. Not a scratch on them, and the headband and earcups don't show any wear. So yeah they feel sort of cheap and light, but from my experience they're practically indestructible

    One thing I have to add about the XM4s, as an XM3 owner, I can tell you that the sliding part of the yoke has a well known tendency to fail, as the small ring-like part that holds the two parts of it at the top cracks. Sony had similar issues with the 1000X and 1000XM2, but the redesign did not seem to help. there is a company that sells a replacement, but for a premium set of cans this is really disappointing. Plus, as the two parts of the yoke loosen, they begin to creak quite a bit when you move around. Now, as far as I can tell the parts in the XM3 and XM4 look identical, so I expect that in 6 moths or so we'll start seeing report of this happening on the XM4 as well.

      It appears that Sony have thickened the part that cracked on my XM3 in the XM4, so I hope that solves the issue. The noise canceling and sound quality are very good in the XM3, and the XM4 are supposed to have very similar hardware in that respect
