Great detailed and educational video bro. I actually watched this before I got my 2015 6-speed M235i 😂 Questions: 1. when looking for an LCI cluster, does it HAVE to be off of an M235i? 2. I have MPH in the States, so the LCI cluster needs to be MPH as well right? 3. Does the cluster have to come off of a 6-speed car? Thanks bro.

@@Y444KSH may I ask, why I need to check the iDrive System, when I want to retrofit Intrument Cluster? I have only the basic NBT iDrive w/o Navi or CarPlay

I just bought an slightly crashed 228i from US and I would like to change the instrument cluster with a digital one in metric units. Do you know if it can be changed from miles to metric ?
@@Y444KSH Ah, too bad. Thank you for your quick feedback ; if I remember correctly Kombi coding could add an oil temp gauge on the pre LCI cluster, but it basically did nothing (just stayed in the middle). Might be worth checking if coding applied to the LCI cluster would be different. Owning a M235i and to this day I am still baffled at how BMW could consider not giving a simple oil and coolant reading on the cluster for an M car ! One of those infuriating, nonsense BMW decisions.

@@Y444KSH True ! So far I have been using an OBD adapter connected to my smartphone. Gives all the data and is probably the cheapest way to do it, if not the most elegant. Hi, thank you to make me understand how it can be replace in this vid. I’ve got a F22 220d & I want to replace it too. Is this vid only available for replacing to a new(non-mileaged) cluster? or available to mileaged(used) one too?

Great video bro, I wanted to ask how much virginising the cluster costed? Do you think it’s more worthwhile to just buy a virginised cluster for more money?
When your car already has one of these digital clusters and you purchase a new instrument cluster from your Bmw dealer, do you have to code it as well or is it a plug and play story?

The LCI Cluster is beautiful but very sensitive to scratches, it has a satin coating.
dont sneeze on it or clean it with a soft fiber cloth
