- It's taken us a while to sit down and record this and it's mostly because I wasn't in a massive rush to overshare. I'm not scared of the evil eye on my own but other people make me think I should be afraid of it 😂
I share this in hopes to help some of you feel less alone. Maybe you share it with that guy who doesn't know any other muslims or converts except for you to show them another story.
I share it to be a Muslim and Arab presence in this space.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't also share it to settle people's curiosity just a little bit. I get it. I'm a content consumer too. I get curious too 😂 Content is basically our new TV right?

Zero respect for someone who changes his religion for a woman. Religion is a serious thing, if you change it so quickly you never really believed in the first place, it is not something you can intentionally change. Not in one million years I would ever do that for a woman.

So what if he never "truly" believed in the first place in his previous religion? Perhaps there is a good valid theological or good valid logical reason why he hasn't been a "true believer" anyway. You are assuming his previous religion of Christianity is the only true valid religion (I assume you are a Christian), and as I'm someone who is neither a Muslim nor a Christian, there is no evidence that either religions are definitely true anyways. They could both be wrong. Or ONE of them could be right (though yes, certainly, not both right simultaneously, they certainly can't both be right). However, anyways, problem is, every time a Christian becomes a Muslim, Christian keep saying that the ex-Christian now-Muslim was "never a TRUE believer in Jesus" (whatever that means for the individual). Well guess what... the same crap happens in reverse, when a Muslim becomes a Christian, Muslims keep retorting that the ex-Muslim was never a "true Muslim" to begin with, and that the convert from Islam to Christianity was a "fake" and a "phony". And to be honest, I have seen this nonsense reasoning happen in both religions of various denominations (and of no particular denominations too), and it's annoying to hear, myself being someone who is neither Christian nor Muslim. Always the followers of the religion from which the current person left, the so-called "true-believers" followers always chant this stupid "You were never a true X" mantra (replace X with Muslim/Christian), as if their specific criteria were the only criteria that actually mattered.

Moslems who I know who converted did that on their own volition. Whoever wants to convert in any direction because of faith ok, but just doing it for a woman means they never believed in their former religion and also don’t in the one they converted to.

So you are using the term "belief" generically, as in one's "internal conviction" in a particular doctrine or particular point of faith, and thus that either "firm belief" in the doctrine of either Islam/Christianity respectively, will naturally cause one to not convert to another religion on the basis of marriage solely because he/she would be 100% convinced in their own to begin with. If so, yes I understand what you are saying now, and yes it makes 100% sense. Perhaps I must misunderstood you previously, in which case, I apologize. In any case, my point still stands nonetheless... and it was mainly that (from my own non-Christian and non-Muslim perspective), I don't see either Islam nor Christianity as correct (as per either Christianity's or Islam's ideas on God, afterlife, good vs evil), therefore I don't personally see a problem even if the ex-Muslim (or the ex-Christian) wasn't considered by their fellow followers of their "ex-" religion to be a firm believer, or a "fake believer". I can certainly understand how it could be scandalous of for instance from the point of view of believing-Christians (who believe firmly in the bible's innerancy as 100% word of god for example), for them to realize that one of their fellow ex-Christian members, who transitioned from ex-Christian into another religion solely because of falling in love with a non-Christian woman or because of a non-Christian man. Likewise, I can understand why the same scandalous reaction would ensue the opposite way too, if a Muslim follower notices that their fellow Muslim follower converted into Christianity because of falling in love with a non-Muslim woman or a non-Muslim man. That much is understandable, and yes, I understand why the community of each religion would feel betrayed by the person who converted because of falling in love. My point was that, as I'm a non-Christian and a non-Muslim, I don't really care (from my non-Christian and non-Muslim perspective) if someone converts to another religion because of falling in love with a man or woman of another religion, as I don't see either religion as correct anyways, so conversion would just be viewed by me as "Oh so he/she decided to switch religion! Ok good for him/her." You could argue of course that I'm just being biased (as I don't believe the god of the bible to be real), and that's one way of looking at it, but I was simply making a point that I don't lose respect for the converting person regardless if the intention was because of "firm conviction" in a particular religion, or if it was "because of a man/woman of another religion", as in my view, the two religions are just "social artificial cultural constructs" anyways and not from any divine source, so it would in a sense be like "going from the frying pan and into the fire" (and vice versa). I don't mean to disrespect anyone's faith by this expression, I'm simply stating that I don't see either religion (strictly speaking) as correct anyways, so therefore I can't lose my respect on people solely because they change their religious identity of their own choice (regardless if it is because of a firm conviction in their new converted, or because someone fell in love with a member of another religion and so decided to convert) I hope you can understand my view, even if you don't agree with my non-Abrahamic position. I apologize if I was rude to you here or previously, it was NOT my intention. :)

@@tibodeclercq2131 In general, the Quran tells Muslim men not to marry Non-Muslim women, and it tells Muslim women not to marry Non-Muslim men, but it makes an allowance for Muslim men to marry women of the People of the Book (usually Jews, Christians, and Sabians). No such allowances are made for women.

They interpreted the texture of Islam that women also are allowed to marry men from the holy book not only muslim men.
Muslim and Christian couples are in increasing numbers in Europe blessed by both priests and imams.
Word's from Muslim scholars:
"the Qur'an does not expressly prohibit Muslim women from marrying men from the People of the Book, often Jews and Christians."
Another Muslim scholars say:
"that not a single word in the Qur'an or the Sunnah prohibits Muslim women from marrying someone from the people of the book He counselled women who converted to Islam to remain married to their non-Muslim husbands. He also opined that one can not use past juristic consensus to prohibit such marriages, as such juristic rulings were issued during times of political disputes."
Just like Catholics and protestants in old day's this will hopefully changes so many more Arab muslim women in love with Christian men can feel free to choose them they love. Also the opposite.
The former big hostilities between Catholics and protestants is almost gone. The same can be Muslims and Christians if this spreads more and more.

“If a Muslim woman gets married to a non-Muslim, she will be committing a huge sin and will even be regarded as an adulteress. If she considers it Halal for her to stay in this marriage, denies the prohibition established by the Shari`ah in explicit and unequivocal words, and finds nothing wrong Islamically in keeping up this marriage, then she would be considered a Kafir (disbeliever) in this case.”

I disagree with many aspects within Islam and Christianity (I'm of neither faith), but I wouldn't use the term "evil" to describe everything within them. Also, it depends on what the respective followers' understanding of Islam and Christianity is... Some features in both are arguably "evil" (arguably), but not everything. Though, both those religions as a collective entity, I personally certainly disagree with the 2 religions like I have said, but still...
