Nice job that George it looked to be matching up very nice considering the tyre size. The old plough looks to run very well. Thank you very much for your kind words, appreciate it,
Ploughing looked great to me George! Matched up both ways lovely, nice and level, no trash showing, good and straight, very well finished headlands! Most important is the fact that you took pride in what you did and enjoyed it! Cracking video - most enjoyable.
Trouble is these days George, the kids do all this one pass stuff and no till planting that they don't know or don't get taught how to plough properly, keep up the proper standards and keep these educational videos coming. CHEERS.
Thanks George, always love to seeing ploughing, and love our local ploughing matches, sadly canceled this autumn, but we did have a small gathering for a practise day.
We have a Dowdeswell at work and same problem that rear wheel just do's not want to flip over half the time, great video pal always a pleasure spending time in your T7 or TW classroom.
I ran a plough like yours George, a long time ago now and it was a good strong piece of equipment. In fact I "wore out" three tractors with it, a Fiat 1580 Dt,Fiat 160/90 and saving the best till last 1988 Massy Ferguson 3680.Thanks for the vid mate it was good to see the old Dowdswell, mine was a six furrow version by the way..Olds Cool!!😉👍
That’s some really nice 👍 ploughing there George, you shouldn’t put yourself down like that, because I was like you when I was ploughing but I really did enjoy 😊 doing that particular job and of course the cultivation work there after and there are days for myself especially this year where I have had the time to think back to those days and I thought that they were the best days that I have ever worked and you take care of you and yours and see you on the next one, ta ra for a bit.
Soil sticking to the boards is a pain. Before ploughing I use a plastic orange or vegetable pocket with river sand, then I rub the boards to a shine. Using the pocket and sand does the job really quick. Use lots of water. Then before putting the plough away at the end of ploughing. I smear the boards with grease. This stops the rust.
Ploughing in a T7 life don't get better then that really proper Agri machine! Fair play looking after the old girl and you got my set up exactly Georgey boy .
I remember in the 1970’s on my family’s farm plowing the neighbors field that we rented with our IH 826 Hydro Demonstrator. One part of the field had kind of a bowl shape near the road and in one pass about half way up the hill the tractor came to an abrupt stop as the right rear tire spun like crazy and was digging itself in. I quickly pushed in the clutch and it stopped. I lifted the 3pt to lift the front of the plow and I believe it backed out fairly easily. I went around that spot and resumed plowing. I think I remember seeing clay or sand in the hole so maybe there was a spring there? The rest of the ground I believe the soil was rather good.
Great Vlog George, With low or no till becoming more popular the ploughing skills are becoming less common, Great show on how to set and run a plough, Thanks
Only play Farming Sim. Love your channel for the real life experiences and advice. Family dream to own a piece of farm. Thanks for all of your hard work.
We rented out for 3 seasons fields to big potatoe growers I mean the big boys with maybe up to 15 machines in field and I had go in 1050 and what a machine. It pulled 9 furrow Kuhn through soil like knife through warm butter and them Kuhn ploughs are made last and must be couple tonnes!
When you did that 1st headland, hasn’t it left an empty furrow where you met the field line furrows? I can’t understand why you didn’t put the empty furrow to the headland side
i do a similar technique as you for corners going at an angle and for keeping headlands parallel doing markers around the headlands is the easiest and best way to make ploughing headlands easier . all you need to do is have Plough slightly turned and lightly skim the ground so it isnt to rough to drive over
Never known tip about having back furrow touch ground slight bit before front, but makes sense once the weight is off the front of the tractor it will be dead level. Guess that's the idea of doing this.
Well done George. Seeing the finished product, I would not know how much effort goes into the ploughing. Is soil compaction a real issue where you are? Does flooding effect soil compaction? Thanks for sharing.🐄🐂😷👍
Im an old fella , I don't remember when I started ploughing but I was 12 with a David Brown 25 and a 2 furrow disc plough,, we cant use mouldboard ploughs because the soil was so heavy ,, a disc plough is easier to pull ,, A TE20 can pull a 2 furrow ,, a MF35 can pull a 3 furrow ,, a MF 65 can pull a 4 furrow ,, a MF178 can pull a 5 furrow ,,, why do you need 150 hp to pull a 5 furrow mouldboard plough ? haha I know which I would rather buy the diesel for ...
I plough corners like you at work but at home with 100hp on 4 furrows we just get as close as possible on the outside run then turn around and plough back up what we've just done a tractors length
I'm not a farmer and have never done any ploughing, but I don't understand the set up. You set everything equal, but when you're ploughing the tractor is on the tilt (two wheels in the furrow) so doesn't this mean the the plough is on the tilt? If the plough is on the tilt then why isn't the inside furrow deeper than the outside furrow?
I'm going to make a attempt at painting a "George Saunders edition" TW25 for the farm simulator 2019 PC game. Besides your channel name on the back window, any suggestions?
George is your front wheel inside track width wider than your back. I can't get my t7210 and kv plough to pull straight and think my back wheels are set to narrow.
I stand corrected, but you say that in work, the top link does not do anything. On JDs they have lower link sensing for the draught control, but as far as I know, Fords use top link sensing and therefore it does the job of maintaining the link that makes the draught control system work. I would have thought therefore that this link should only have limited float or else it would not react or be too slow in reacting. (?)
Hey Geroge my favorite UK farmer ! :D :P I were looking at your plough ! Nice old Dowdeswel :) ,,,, BUT ! isn´t it time for new mullboard plates and cutter blades for it ! ??? :D :D :D they look like have surrendered in like hundred years and one summer ! :D :D
Hi George great video, tidy job. I will put you up for a permanent position'. I am a little curious to what decides the direction of ploughing and tillage on the same field. Also would the same methods apply for any crops. A little homework for you, and an education for me.Trust you and Liz are both well.
Good job George, conditions a little sticky in your part of the world also, Seabrooks are nice, having a job to get them over here now, thanks for Amazon tip George:):)

Soil sticking to the boards is a pain.

Hi George, bet your left leg is enjoying a couple of days off without heavy clutchwork, great video
i do a similar technique as you for corners going at an angle and for keeping headlands parallel doing markers around the headlands is the easiest and best way to make ploughing headlands easier . all you need to do is have Plough slightly turned and lightly skim the ground so it isnt to rough to drive over
Another great video George and do you have gps in the T7 or not
good video George could you do some videos about the livestock
Never known tip about having back furrow touch ground slight bit before front, but makes sense once the weight is off the front of the tractor it will be dead level. Guess that's the idea of doing this.

Cracking job
Good stuff. Get that old girl going again though the backing track sounds so much better 😁. Good video well thought out👍😉🏴

Well done George. Seeing the finished product, I would not know how much effort goes into the ploughing. Is soil compaction a real issue where you are? Does flooding effect soil compaction?
Thanks for sharing.🐄🐂😷👍
How deep are you ploughing it George?
Love your vids George. Don’t farm in real life but plowing on farming simulator is one of my favorite jobs.

You're doing a good job there George.
Do you still keep in contact with Ben?
Will there be a video of the tw service 🤞. George Saunders
Do you plow the headlands?,like the triangle shape bits of ground you leave or just leave them as its only a small amount of ground
Yep all the ground should be turned over 👍
Nice job.
love the long videos
We have had our Dowdeswell for years now and it will be used for many years to come! For 5 furrow pretty simple plough it ain't half reliable!
I plough corners like you at work but at home with 100hp on 4 furrows we just get as close as possible on the outside run then turn around and plough back up what we've just done a tractors length
George, how are your doggy copilots doing🐾🐾? 🇺🇸👍✌️
how fast you plowed and how much the plow weighs ?
That Top Link must be under colosall tension with the plough hanging on it !!
I'm not a farmer and have never done any ploughing, but I don't understand the set up. That is something I've not checked.
Have you changed the headstock on that plough
How much land farm with family farm

The tw has bottom link sensing not top link sensing.

Bet that soil smells boooodifull can't beat freshly disturbed soil 😁
Hey Geroge my favorite UK farmer ! :D :P I were looking at your plough ! Nice old Dowdeswel :) ,,,, BUT ! isn´t it time for new mullboard plates and cutter blades for it ! ??? :D :D :D they look like have surrendered in like hundred years and one summer ! :D :D
Nice.
Nice piece of land that.
If you do all the headland last you do a better job in the corners George 🤔👍
Superb video.
Nice work👍
