    They don't support American ideas much.
    They were colonising us for some time but after that they left peacefully unlike the British or Portuguese.
    When India was developing nukes, the whole world was against it but at the end France helped us and gave us technology to develop that.

    Modern day world friendship is viewed by what's in it for me. Gone are the days when friendships meant just being friends with no selfish reasons behind it. Friends truely cared and was there for each other. A poor man good be friends with a rich person, a king like Rama could be friend with a jungle tribes man like Nishad. Friendships did not demand anything but today's friendship is about opportunities. What this is is a stretegic treaty, shared interests and an alliance. It's not called friendship.

Nishad and even the vaanar (monkeys) were present during his reign. You said Rama was never a leader !!. Rama was a great leader that valued friendship not based on his gains and he was an excellent politician along with his Guru's guidance. Rama befriended sugriv instead of Bali as a testament that friendship is greater than self gain. Rama could have befriended Bali and used his power and army to attack Ravan, Bali was more powerful then everyone and had already defeated Ravan. Ram even gave away 3 great kingdom for the sake of friendship, including kishkindha which he could have claimed as kingdom after killing Bali and another is Lanka which he could have claimed as his after killing Ravan but no he gave it away to his friend upholding the promises. Do not forget that we are talking about friendship here and Rama is a great testament on how he managed politics and friendships in contrast from being a normal person and later a king. With the continuing concern about China's global ambitions, it is quite rewarding to see a strong relationship develop between India and a respected European nation. Modi is modernizing India in many ways, and much of the rest of the world is impressed with the changes. By now he can see the differences between the behavior of both China and Russia when compared to much of the so-called Western world. Many admire Modi's resistance to alliances which force a country to take a side in order to belong in one or more groups of trade, financial cooperation, or military stance in given regions of the globe. Yet, I am certain that India still prefers to befriend nations who follow rules of decency and honor - where one's word is good and actions are honorable. It probably hurts when a ruler of a nation behaves like a bully, or can't be trusted. China's abuse of their power to challenge the border with India is out of line, and I am certain that Modi does not respect Russia's mistreatment of Ukraine, as proven by the tolerance he has with Sri Lanka, his neighbor friend.

There are no loyalties but to themselves and their pursuits. It's sad that the totality of the western nations find it at all necessary to do the things that they choose to do. Interesting.... but 2 thoughts come to mind. 1 France is part of the EU and as such how can France alone, create new trade deals outside of the EU, surely that breaches EU membership regulations. 2. Because France is part of the EU and India is part of the BRICS, surely that creates a conflict of interests within other member states of each alliance....

    Military ties with France are quite expensive. We should look for better partnerships like perhaps with Sweden. Sweden Saab Gripen fighter jets haven't been sold much due to Politics between EU and USA. They are bidding to supply fighter jets much more capable than Rafale at almost half the prices.
    If India(current govt.) is smart and just, they would wanna atleast give Sweden a chance at being partners.

      @@harir3628 of course, that's ideal. But we are currently capable of making only LCA, we need more AMCA, 5th generation Fighter Jets and advanced.
      So, for the time being we need to procure overseas, esp at best prices and gather technology data alongside till we become self sustainable.
      With tensions going on with China and Pak, we need to bolster quick and efficiently.

    Maybe someone should tell her that all countries in Europe have American bases with nuclear weapons. We are all NATO, it's just that France has a lot of nuclear materials but it's not like that France tomorrows wakes up and starts to threat a nuclear attack against anybody, because it's all NATO and NATO is purely defensive.

    • @eaman11
      @eaman11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Equa nimity Don't tell that to EU, we are mostly all against the use of even nuclear power, imagine weapons. It's the Russia that everyday brag about their nukes and threat an holocaust in case they are not appreciated, then the lady here claims that only France counts because "they are the only ones with nukes".
      Go ask Libia if they ever thought about doing some weird shit close to Italy even when they had Gheddafi.

    Eg 1 Rafael cost around ₹1600 cores with maintenance 2k cores. ( 2 tonnes of recasted iron & Aluminium ore)
    With this much money every indian district can have free metro & public bus transport.
