That infinite falling loop BS in Ice Cap Zone 1 is what firmly turned me into liking Ice Cap 2 a lot more when I listed my favourite Sonic levels a few years ago. I never liked that mechanic of just forcing the player to do the same thing over and over again as punishment, not here, not in Labyrinth Zone in Sonic 1 or even the looping castle levels in Super Mario Bros. 1.
Noticed you were having issues with Tails, he can screw you up in a number of ways on this and Sonic 2, you know you can set the game to just Sonic, right? then you won't have him following you, i never play with Tails following on these games cause of the issues you were having.
