  • In this woodturning project I wanted to show just how easy milliput epoxy putty was to use as a method for inlaying wood. I decided to add brass to the milliput at the last moment and am so glad I did. I contacted Milliput and they agree that they had never seen this done before.

    Absolutely gorgeous. As someone who has always wanted to do woodworking but never had the money nor space to pursue it, I live vicariously through those who can on TH-cam and your channel is one of my favourites. Well done, Mike!

    Love miliput. If you use it a lot do yourself a favor and buy a heavy duty pasta roller. It makes short easy work of mixing miliput.

      Yes but not all of it, this piece was a lot better than most, it can be quite bland.

    Well done. Very nice bowl. The brass swarf in the black Milliput looks very nice, good call. I do not think it would look as good in the white, less contrast. The white would stand out more in a darker wood like cherry.
    I love beech, but the only piece I have was cut from a table leg when a friend needed to shorten the legs on a table.
    I have a few pieces of sycamore which also turns easy and is a pleasure to work with.
    Dave.

    • @MikeHolton
      @MikeHolton  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Dave, beech is nice but you can get pieces that are very bland. I got lucky with this one. You are right, it may not look as good in the white as there would be a lack of contrast. All the best, Mike

    Im sprry but you are NOT the first to use milliput as an inlay on a turned bowl. I have seen this for well over a decade on youtube by several channels

    • @MikeHolton
      @MikeHolton  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Kacey, I did not way that, I said I was the first to add metal shavings into milliput into an inlay. I talked to the guys at milliput and they confirmed this. All the best, Mike
