  • We recently took a quick trip to Grand Rapids. It was the first time that we'd ever been to the area. Now we've seen most areas of the state of Michigan. While we were there I traded in my XT3 and paid some money out of pocket to acquire a Sony A7iv and a Tampon 28-75mm lens. This video was shot on that kit in PP9 which I believe is some variant of Slog-3. I've never shot in log before, so this is just me getting to know the camera and figuring out how to expose for this footage. I in know what have any idea what I'm doing in this video with regards to making the footage look great. I think it turned out pretty well for the first time using the camera and for the first time using and grading log. I also left the camera in continuous autofocus the whole time just to see how good it really is. I've always been a manual shooter and have been excited to be able to film myself more easily. I don't know if I'll rely on autofocus completely but it's a very nice tool to have for sure! Maybe I'll sell my GH5 and get a full frame Lumix camera in the future and compare. I must admit that if Panasonic had decent autofocus I would have stuck with them. We'll see what they do next. So far I'm really liking the Sony. The LUT I applied to the footage is the Tungsten Phantom LUT.
