Went to the first vet, they didn't do operations. Went to the animal hospital, the only guy available was on lunch break. On the way to the third vet, my best friend died in my arms.
      He name was Fawkes.
I found him as a stray blind feral starved freezing kitten. He couldn't walk because of how cold it was but he was fine after I brought him in, fed him and sat him beside the heater. He hated me for a whole month before I could gain his trust. Imagine being blind and you don't know what the hell is going on. He relaxed as soon as he met out other cat.
The moment he first climbed onto my lap and nudged my chin with his nose, I knew this cat was special.
When he died a part of me died too.

@@loutenant2817 Thats very sad. I got to the emergency vet and they basically said nothing they could do. I couldnt even do cpr because i was alone and driving like a mad man to the useless vet. My little girl died and im not even sure if they tried. Her son died at age 3 when he got a cold. Congenital heart defect. Jad him in a hyperbaric chamber with antibiotics but the pericardium around his heart and the heart tissue itself filled with fluid. 3 rounds of cpr and adrenaline. About a grand and he still died. Now i do regular ecocardiograms every year.

I was able to bring my 12 year old Tuxedo back to life using this technique. I hadn't watched this video, nor had I performed CPR before, but for some reason I seemed to know what needed to be done. Poor guy hopped into a cooler and the lid shut. It's now a few months later and Lucifer the cat is back to his normal self! He had a temp of 92 degrees F (should be 100-102.5) had no pulse, or breath.
If you are able to bring your cat back, wrap the cat in warm blankets (heat in dryer for a few minutes) and get to a vet ASAP!

Lol thank you tho I was able to save my kittens life I was getting scared his eyes got really dry and he was not breathing. *TIP FOR CHECKING IF THE CAT IS BREATHING*
lick the back of your hand and place it in front of the cats nose. it’s easier to be sure if its breathing or not when your hand is a bit wet since it feels a bit cool when a warm breath touches it. ever been bathing in the summer and half freezing to death if it’s a bit windy when you come out of the water? same principle.

My poor cat died today after getting hit by a car outside my house. She passed away on my lap on the way to the vet. I wish I had watched this video sooner, I watched her die in my arms as she gasped for her last breaths before her heart decided to stop beating :( She may have had broken some ribs from the crash so I don't think the CPR would have helped but I still feel incredibly guilty I couldn't do anything to help her :(

Last night I dreamed that my cat's heart had stopped. While I was crying and doing CPR, I was trying to call a vet. After doing CPR for 3 minutes, he came back to life and I was very relaxed. But in case it happened again, I immediately started watching CPR videos. I was crying when I woke up. Now I've opened this video, but I'm having trouble watching it because it reminds me of my dream and I feel like crying again. Just thinking about my cat dead is enough to bring tears to my eyes. One of our cats died today. For some reason, I didn’t notice that he was having problems. All I noticed was that he would sit at places looking like he was peeing. Today, my sisters told me that he was having trouble peeing. He was weak. I watched him as he tried and failed to pee. He kept on seeking for places to relieve himself thinking that if he found the right spot, he’d be able to do his business. It was heartbreaking. The vet attached him to an IV and advised us to return the next day for an X-ray. I didn’t think he’d make it because he was so weak. Tonight, his heart beat really fast then he went limp. I attempted to do CPR with the limited knowledge I had and saw his ear fall. I didn’t know if it was a response to what I was doing but ultimately I stopped. I shouldn’t have given up so quickly.
I remember how he would respond to his name being called by moving his tail despite being so weak.
    😭😭

Özlem Özbay that’s not true. Only if you prevented someone more qualified from administering treatment would you be responsible. If someone is going to die, and you do not do anything to save them, that also makes you responsible. But trying to save someone doesn’t put responsibility in your hands unless you know that what you’re doing is going to make the issue worse, or someone else there is more likely to be able to save them.

I heard a faint meow the other day that sounded off from my daughter's room where our kittens hang out and when I went to check, one of them had knocked over a cloth laundry hamper and gotten the handle wrapped around the bed and her neck and was in there choking. I was able to grab a knife and cut her free just as she was about to pass out. If I had been in any other room in the house, I would never have heard her. Thankfully I didn't need to perform CPR but I realized that if I had, I wouldn't even have known how to do it right. Thank you... I was kind of traumatized today because the cat of my father in law had a stroke. She was a really nervous cat and they were moving out of their house and for some reason that i still dont understand they left the cat roaming freely in the house. So they tried to catch it and when it passed right next to me i tried to block her but she passed me and started to have a stroke. Everyone was yelling and their daughters were saying "eww" as i was trying to give it cpr. Unfortunately i didnt have any idea how to do that but i tried. The cat didnt survive and i got really sad :(
This video would of been useful earlier this morning. At least now i know if it happens to my own cat or puppy 😔😔

I had to do CPR on our cat 4 years ago and brought her back on the way to the vets. Sadly, she passed away during surgery to fix and internal bleed from previous surgery. I didn’t do it as it was done in this video as I didn’t know how to do it, but we have just got a kitten so I want to make sure im better prepared in case this nightmare happens again. Thank you for this tutorial. I lost my 19 year ginger boy Tom yesterday. I found him struggling to breathe and his lips were blue then had to ring three different vets to find one who did out of hours. None of them did call outs anymore 😞 The veterinary nurse on the phone explained CPR if Tom stopped breathing, I still had to wait for my friend to get to mine to get Tom in to the vets. He was close to death and was euthanasied within ten minutes of arrival at the vets. My wonderful companion, my fur family 💔 CPR would not have made a difference in the end for him but I decided to look for a tutorial video because I need to know this. We all should know ❤️💔❤️

i had a 6 month old cat stop breathing for what appeared no reason at all she just fell over. Checked for breathing and there was nothing. Saw my dad help a choking dog when I was young by blowing through its nose. So my immediate response was the same. Held her mouth closed and blew through her nose. I remember doing it pretty forcefully though. Thankfully she sprung up after about 10-15 seconds hissed at me and was scared of me for like a few weeks. She is still with me and the sweetest cat.

just thought of this because I was reading about a guy who came back to a carbon monoxide leak in his house and had to drag his family outside. I imagined it, but realized that if this were me, my cat would probably be in serious trouble if a leak big enough to affect people happened. It's always good to know about these things for the future rather than panicked in-the-moment.

My boy died in my arms on the 30th last month. I didn't know how to do cpr on a cat so I did it like you would do to a person; so not only now do I think that me doing it wrong is what killed him quicker or because his kidneys were already failing before and he never had a chance to begin with. Maybe if I had known how to do cpr the right way, maybe he could still be here. I don't know.

I don't know what happened but it seemed like a heart attack, I took him to get some shots and he just pulled back let out a meow and collapsed then stopped breathing. I didn't know how to do CPR and there was no vet at the location. I felt so powerless. At least learning how to do CPR will help me cope. There was probably no way to save him anyways.

Last night 2 am my kitten was unable to breathe and it was on its last breath, i already thought that its his last minute. Then i remembered and i did cpr and tried blowing air to its mouth, couple of minutes after, the situation became better, And this morning he is stable took him to vet.

I knew a guy who saved his friend's cat after she was electrocuted by chewing on an electrical plug. It struck me how important this skill is. I do wonder how hard to push, though - with human CPR, I've been told you pretty much can't push too hard (unless you're a really big person). I tried to perform CPR on a rabbit once and failed; I think I was too gentle. Is it around 1/3 of the body width that you should be compressing? I vaguely recall hearing that for humans...

Yesterday a cat got thrown by a man in a box that looked to be maximum 4 months old got into my house, I wanted to take care of her but as I looked to the other way it got bite by a dog (not really strong, it was also fast) and then the cat started rolling, he was still breathing, kind of unconciouss for the pain, but the problem is that he seemed that got fractured a part of the neck, he wasn't able to stand, just rolled and rolled every time she got the consciousness back, again, she wasn't blinking, the cat couldn't close her eyes, I turned on the flashlights to point her eyes to see if the pupils would shrink but nothing, again, the cat was still kind of consciouss, every time I tried to lift her she screamed a lot because of the pain
    8 hours later she died
I don't really know what to do in that type of cases... the only way there seemed to be only to sacrifice her...

I watched just half of your video and missed the crucial information.
I lost my kitten 2am 15.07.19 My kitten started to gasp for air in the middle of the night, after for some reason doing a black poo outside its litter. Next to our bed as we locked him in with us due to our other 11 month old kitten needing to get used to him first. I watched your video as he was limp on the floor, I was doing cpr after he lost consciousness in my hands and not breathing, I followed your instructions to check the gums (blue grey) and pulse, which I couldn't find or didn't have one. Opened him mouth pulled his tounge out and nothing, then I even put my little finger down his throat ever so gentle to see if there was something and that I wouldn't push it further or anything but there was nothing. After then within a few seconds I couldn't watch your video anymore because I was in desperate need for cpr and you didn't state you was going to teach us that half way through the video or in the written description, I would have jumped forward and watched it and would have been enough time to give my kitten a chance of life.
In the time I was watching your video I was losing time and him, also there were no other videos that were specifically stating kitten cpr so I could watch anything else quickly. I was doing cpr more gentle than you would to a human while calling emergancy vets which was no where near me and tried to charge then put the phone down on me after I said ok no problem but I needed help now and then he said OK calm down are you registered with us and I said my goodness please can I do this after because my 8 week kitten is unconscious but put the phone down! and I needed to call 2 others to finally get through to someone willing to help without charging me first, but by then it was too late it'd been 10mins since he passed out, he eyes had no movement just nothing from him. I didn't realise I had to go under the ribs on the right side and pulsate hard. I was losing time and needed a vet because your info wasn't stated earlier. I only had him 10hrs and he was panicking and just wiggling forcefully we couldn't understand, I picked him up and he was just wiggling I checked him mouth, nothing, eyes nose nothing, i just couldn't find anything then he lost consciousness, we was such in shock, my husband was in shock during losing him, started crying and panicking I didn't have support i had to do cpr and look on TH-cam the same time, then after calling vets which took ages. but because the info on the video was so slow and not stated that cpr was half way through the video I would have watched that and followed step by step.... I'm pretty sure I lost my 8 week kitten because of performing cpr wrong!
This effected both me and my husband, now we are too scared and upset to even look after another baby kitten. I suffered from panic and anxiety attacks 2 days after for 2 to 3 days, and suffered with anxiety all day every day even till now it's only been 2 weeks since and we're just cut up, I dreamt of him last night and the love I felt but the guilt and sadness was and is strong.... He was so unique, never seen such a pretty boy with the beautiful grey blonde and white markings!... I pray Jehovah will satisfy our desire of being with him again....
Just please state in your description you have Cpr information. We are so cut up to lose such a beautiful life and to have lost him so traumatically.... However thank you for your video, it will help others if they watch it before emergancies and during if have time to watch it all.

How tragic and traumatic, I'm so sorry to read your awful story and many condolences for the loss of your kitten. Sending you and your husband our best wishes, and will take your comment on promoting the importance of CPR when performing first aid for an unconscious cat into consideration although sadly our videos just can't be made for emergency situations, they need to be used as learning aids pre accident to ensure all pets receive adequate care in a crisis. My thoughts are with you Laura x

I came home this past Wednesday to find my healthy cat laying on the floor not breathing and shes already quite stiff less than an hour after we play. I can't still move-on it hurts so much because i have no idea what happened to her and she seemed so fine, active and playful then suddenly i found her like that in just less than an hour.
*I wanna know if i should have done this in my case? If that still gonna work or applicabe in her case even though shes already stiff?*

Dear Jodi I am so desperately sorry to read your message. I have no idea what happened, but it sounds like it would have been much too late to have saved them. Sending best wishes

2 days ago my cat died...
He died because i think its dehydration and he can not breath... I tried my best to save him but the internet was so slow and i dont know what to do... So we keep him cool... Muinites later he stopped breathing and he starts moving his head and legs then died.
