    5P can provide a peak of 7.68KWh for up to 3 seconds. For a peak of 15KWh you will need 2x 5P batteries. But John your last point is really important - coupling 5P with panel microgrid where you solar production is dynamically adjusted per your load and your battery fills the "gaps" during cloudy moments. But would a single 5P be enough to power a 3~4ton AC during the day using 5P and MicroGrid? I was told "no".

      You are right. In my comparison - I explicitly say that I am comparing the 10kw 5P (2 of them) with the Tesla and Franklin and Solar Edge. A single 5P would have 3.84 kw continuous power and 6.14 kw instantaneous for 10 seconds and 7.68kw instantaneous for 3 seconds. You should find out the LRA amps for the unit - thats the peak amps required. And the RLA that is the running load amps. If those numbers are over the 5P numbers, then you are OK. Otherwise you will need 2 of the 5P's. Generally if you plan to run an AC using a battery - a 5kwh is too small anyway - you will barely be able to run the AC for a couple of hours. A miniumum of 10kwh would be better - preferable 20kwh. I am not familiar with Server Power Backup. Best of Luck

      2 5P's will handle a 3-ton AC, 3 5P's minimum for a 4-ton or 5-ton AC. See the You Tube video - Enphase 5P Home Solar Battery Backup System.

    I am getting 4 5Ps soon in ny house. Ill be a beta test house for a enphase platinum installer. I already have panels so this will just be a battery install. Pretty excited.

    The real game changer is the Enphase bidirectional EV charger - then your EV becomes your battery.

    • @MySolarHomeUSA

      Yes that is coming Q1 2024. Right now the precursor is the Enphase EV Charger - my next video talks about that. Look out for it. Thanks for watching.

      @@MySolarHomeUSA unfortunately Tesla probably won’t be onboard with it because then who would ever buy a power wall ?

    I am about to install solar panels and when I ask the installers about 5P battery, they all downplay saying the price is $20k or $10k for each battery - I checked with an online dealer and the most like prices is around $3750 or so. Question is, if I order from them, how do I install them? Any independent installers?

    • @MySolarHomeUSA
      @MySolarHomeUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Sailen - the new 5T is still not available in commercial quantities. Hence the pricing is all over the place. I would wait a little. Please reach out to me - I will be able to help with a quote as well. But, its maybe a few months away. I am at jon@mysolarhome.us

    can FPL make you have insurance if you install battery's on your teir 1 solar panels?

    • @MySolarHomeUSA
      @MySolarHomeUSA  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      FPL only asks for insurance based on the size of your solar system, not on the battery size. Also you can take the insurance for the first year and then continue at a lower insurance level from the 2nd year onwards. This is a ridiculous requirement set by FPL to get folks to not go solar. Do send me a bill at jon@mysolarhome.us if you are looking for a solar quote - my partner, unfortunately, does not do batteries - only solar+batteries. Best of Luck and thanks for watching.

      I am not so sure - the next big development in battery technology is solid-state batteries and that will happen, but it is probably 5 years away from commercialization. The speed is slow in battery tech. I fervently hope you are correct and I am wrong.

      Revolutionary battery tech does take time but the costs come down for existing tech. I am thinking of building a super capacitor plant to test it. Might be fun. Definitely will be cool!

      @@ananda_miaoyin There are a couple of battery companies invested in super cap batteries. Their challenge is to get them to a size and form factor that is suitable for residential usage. Currently, their offerings are too big and clunky for home use. Thank you for your kind words.

    what if you have a 3 phase home - would 3 x 5p be standard ??

    • @MySolarHomeUSA
      @MySolarHomeUSA  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The no of batteries you need are related to how much you want to backup. You could work with one battery or 2 or 10. The electric phase will not dictate the no. of batteries. Best consult a solar company. Or if you like, I can help as well. Email me at jon@mysolarhome.us Thanks for watching and do subscribe.

    By the way, NEM 3 in California makes sense but to jam us so hard, it ruined the solar industry. I can see maybe a 2:1 export rate but they really hosed new buyers.

    • @MySolarHomeUSA
      @MySolarHomeUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is a spanner in the works. But, I think with a small battery - like a 5kwh Enphase 5T, you can get over this problem. We got to deal with the hand we are given I guess. Thanks for watching. Do write to me if you want a quote. jon@mysolarhome.us

      @@MySolarHomeUSA I own the solar company so I can quote myself! Even off grid, the ROI just ain't there yet. Since you live in California, you know that the peak usage of power is when the solar array starts to die down. I would need a huge battery plant just to operate!
