6:52 So I believe that judges normally write colorless burn when the player doesn't fill out the archetype. So if you end up in that edge case that could work.
I believe there are a couple of minor optimizations a friend and I made: 1) -1 Beseech, -1 Wild Cantor, -1 Chancellor, +3 Serum Powder. We live and die by the mulligan. Powder in some number seems correct. Wild Cantor comes up rarely, and the real answer is that we'd want +1 powder to make the deck more likely to do the thing. Chancellor is 100% a bit bad. I think there's a better version--I think Vexing bauble/Duress are the routes I'd like to go down as the other protection spell, since you can reasonably play your protection and only then go. But all of the rest other than "you should 100% play Serum Powder along with the rest of the mess" is very minor.
Early in the video you mulled to 3, keeping leyline of anticipation, dark rit, Necro and bottomed your summoners pact. I think keeping that pact over leyline would give you higher odds of producing black (pact to cantor means if you draw any guide or second pact you can cast rit). Coincidentally you drew a green guide and still couldn't ritual. Thoughts?
Do you think veil of summer would be better than chancellor? I have the same thoughts you do about chancellor but all these discord ppl are telling me chancellor is correct and the only thing they'd consider as an alternative is unmask , but I don't like the pitch requirement and it's a sorcery. You can randomly cast veil as an instant with spirit guides, which is good.
I would not have bottomed so many summoners pacts when you awakening'd. Just to be safe and make sure you'll be able to cast morphose after valakut. You were still going to draw tons of cards. I think veil is best over chancellor because guides/summoners pacts cast it unexpectedly and you generally don't want to use a black card to pitch to unmask. Unmask also doesn't protect you from discard and veil often replaces itself. When on the verge of a fizzle and you're counting on morphose/born to draw you that crucial card, You may also want to play out all your summoners pacts first to up the odds you'll draw beseech / whatever you're missing instead of drawing useless guides. Cool video! :)
@@TheEPICStorm not sure if my take was entirely correct but thank you! Love your videos! Would be nice to see you run an ad nauseam list or maybe do the new Necro deck with minds desire although I can't see how fetching and force of will play nice with LED tricks and needing to pay life for Necro ?
If you suggest moving the 3x Chrome Mox from the side to the main as replacements for the Gemstone Mines, what would you suggest filling those three sideboard slots with?
Maybe try a list with 4x chrome mox, 3x mox opal and 2x tree of tales, to make beseech the mirror better. I'm agree to put out chancellor (maybe in sb and put in when you are on the play) and gemstone mine. I'll try somethings like this in the next leagues
Your list +3 crhome mox +3 mox Opal +2 tree of tales -4 chancellor -3 gemstone mine -1 valakut awaking. Sideboard: 3x leylines of sanctity, 3x leyline of the void, 3x chancellor of the annex, 2x nature's claim 2x veil of summer, 2x force of vigor. Try this, and Hope you take a Trophy ;)
There are many outlandish and non conventional storm builds you can make >>> the combo is right there, this is simply one way to get the combo. Necrodom and make all spells instant speed, then create mana and win condition. Backup with protection spells of some variety. What I am saying is >> there are so many fun ways to Storm an opponent, why stop at beseech?
@@TheEPICStorm I expected you to win turn 1 at least a couple times. I didn't expect you to win before having a turn without running something like leyline of anticipation.
21:37 the odds of finding a born upon a wind or valakut with 1 being in the bottom and 53 cards remaining when you draw 19 cards is 90% to hit 10% to miss(not exactly but I'm rounding to the 1s) so it's not exactly super rare, but it's still uncommon
still a huge misplay that cost the game though. The only card he was looking for was manamorphose, which there were 4 left in a 34 card deck. By bottoming the buaw, he drew 17 instead of 16 cards, but needed to hit one of 4/34 manamorphi, and one of the 3/34 buaw, which lowered his win odds from ~93% (finding the manamorphose with 16 draws) to ~84 (95% for finding the manamorphose with 17 draws * 89% for finding the buaw with 17 draws)
My fellow Lantern player Peppe continues to troll members of the Eternal Glory podcast. I look forward to the eventual showdown between Peppe and Bosh n Roll on some sort of blue soup pile.
Necro triggers. You can now respond with Gutshot. If you don't, I choose a number and draw that many. There's nowhere inbetween for you to respond. This means I'll draw 19 and you need to pray I cant kill you in response to your Gutshot or have a Pact of Negation.
25:30 isn't it safer to get spirit guides with green pacts before valakut awakening? Sure you draw fewer cards, but it seems getting that mana was necessary anyway. "Summoner's pact is useless" got me tilted 😅
I came here to ask this too - for some reason I see lines like this while watching storm content but I freeze up when I am piloting storm and can never think of when to go for it, what to tutor for, etc :D
12:18 I'm glad you can laugh off whatever toxic nonsense was spewed at you. I suspect you are aware, but just in case you are not, there is a means of reporting such behavior. Nobody should have to deal with that kind of garbage when playing a game.
