There is a way to optimize your Reaping the Graves. When you resolve the spell, you should try to cycle back each creature you brought back, while the different iterations are still on the stack. This way you keep a maximum of creatures in the graveyard, in case you draw a Songs of the Damned. I hope it makes sense, it's tricky to explain !
cycling is done at instant speed, much like any other ability on a card (unless specified otherwise). this allows you to add the cycling cards to the stack before the spell resolves.
Also a piece of detail you can add to your play is allowing each copy of reaping the graves resolve one by one as you can cycle at instant speed. That means the creatures are still in your bin, and you return and cycle them one at a time on the stack to maximise the efficiency of your songs of the damned
@@MTGDeckmasters i’ve been playing cycling storm for a few years now, and its a serious difference maker. Thanks for the videos! I’m the owner of a new lgs, and i refer to your content quite a bit for tutorials for decks outside of my normal play expertise
Songs of the Damned was a card that I recognized as super busted way back in the day. Granted, I may have been about 15 years too early for it to be seen in a deck, but yeah, it's awesome.
I've been playing this deck for 3 years and instead of Lotus Petal because it's expensive, I play Chromatic Star, an otherwise completely identical deck
Please god get extra Drannith Stingers down early, then your 3 points of damage a turn and then they may at least not be dead by the middle of your turn - interesting though!
Super cool deck. Twidle storm in modern is awesome. Are you thinking doing something for the legacy format? Also turn 1 storm? Lotus bloom eggs? Some ideas 😅
Any particular reason you wouldn't just jam the second stinger at 10:48 after drawing the petal? Seems like having 2 damage per cycle would be optimal.
In case he don't get a second one and can't pay the blue mana for Mystical Teaching/Repository Skaab. With this, he could bring back Reaping the Graves and keep the combo going. It was mostly in case his draws were bad and get dry on cycling cards. If he drew another Reaping the Graves, he could also bring back Songs of the Damned for plenty of mana. Playing Stinger could have been enough, but I think it was safer the other way around :) Hope it was clear

5:45 with your storm count being 6, you actually return 7 creatures from the grave to hand. 1 for the original spell and then 6 more for the 6 copies that storm made
Is repository skaab best in slot for that effect? Im not too familiar with pauper, but ardent elementalist comes to mind since it at least keeps a body. Pretty negligible upside but still. Thanks :)

I call bs on this deck. You have like 12 lands total. There is no way this deck functions without being stacked. No to mention how many times you would have to mull just to get a good hand
I get that this is a year late but my guy you can function with 12 lands in a 60 card format because I function with 23 lands in commander which is a 100 card singleton format where people tell me to run at least 37 lands maybe you just only play casually or everyone you play with just hates fast games

while that is optimal, it slows your pace down even further, since you have to keep track of which cards are targeted in your graveyard
@@archerjagv2993 you can just move them aside. And the upside is tremendous !

Thank you so much for making these videos! its super fun to watch these combos in action.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching👍
Lol advice since I love the videos. Get that perfect starting hand. Then shuffle your remaining 53 then go. Might avoid any sceptics

I took down a tournament with caw gates. I was bored as crap. This looks way more fun.
I would just concede
What do you mean? You don't want to sit there watching your opponent for 15 minutes??
if you concede you lose but if you watch them for 15 minutes they might mess up and lose

Thanks! More cool decks on the way😏

This isnt complicated at all compared to the old vine storm lists lol but it looks fun

love how affordable pauper is 😂
Do you have a decklist? love the vid.
Love this deck. Gonna try it to troll my opponents!❤
Speaking of pauper storm I'm 4 cards away from finishing vine storm
Nice!
I built this in mono black pauper, it's way harder though.... lol couple more sets I'll have a legit mono black pauper storm/cycle deck.

I think the idea is that you can sac skaab to itself and get it back with reaping the graves to use over again
Imagine doing this turn 2 and the opponent casts a weather the storm
can we get the decklist without paying for it like jesus christ why do i have to sub to patreon jus to see the decklist

Will rapidly shuffling two cards change the cards?
Lucky you had that one land and no other lands for all those draws
True. This is the best case scenario

Hey , its amazing decklist possible ?
One well timed swamp in the deck to start it off apparently 😂😂
How do we get ahold of the deck list?
Fun deck but very easily stopped. And God forbid someone has underworld dreams out before your able to get started 😂
Why not play the extra Drannith Stingers so the opponent goes down faster
I hope you are talking about the deck...
The deck was pretty nice too
I think this deck was better when you just played Kaervek's Torch.
