I am Taiwanese, and I would say it's not worth it, It will cost a lot of money to maintain, and our land is expensive. Since Chinese tourists couldn't come here a few years ago, our tourism industry has dramatically declined. Meanwhile, housing prices are still skyrocketing, so all the money flows into the housing market.
Hey Josh I am a fan from Taiwan, just want to say thank you for coming here and filming this amazing video. And I don’t even know we have such a unique place like this in Taiwan until I saw your video. Anyways, awesome video hope you keep up with your good work.
I watched a video a few years ago. I believe there was a man that used to live in that house that was almost fully restored. They even mentioned in the video only one person lived there he was an older gentleman, and I remember them interviewing him. It’s sad to think he might’ve passed on and now there’s nobody left living there..
I can almost feel the humidity and smell the chlorine in this video, Joshes videos are almost nostalgic for me as although ive never been to many of these places I spent alot of my youth travelling. The sights, the sounds and the general vibe you get from travelling is like nothing else. This place is breathtakingly beautiful, the OG explorer (not forgetting Dan who brought me here 😆) has returned 👑
They actually use these Venturo buildings all the time here in Portugal =) for beach shops or as temporary offices for real estate constructions.. Is very cool to see the retro ones!!!
I really love your excitement for life Josh. I really enjoy watching your videos for not only your happiness and excitement but also for all the information you share. It’s the best way to learn. You would make an excellent teacher
Josh this is amazing to see thank you so much. Someone should buy this place if possible and renovate what they can for a resort I can see it doing really well. Wow. 😊
My grandparents have lived on a street in the Florida Keys for about 10 years, and I remember when they moved there, there was a super unique house that my family thought looked like a UFO (personally I thought it looked more like a mushroom). After this video, I looked into it, and apparently another architect in the 1970s, Peter Vander Klout, built UFO shaped homes, similarly intending to design futuristic looking homes, but the larger purpose behind the design was to build houses that could withstand category 5 hurricanes. He built several throughout South Florida, mainly the Keys. Many of them have been demolished at this point, but the one on my grandparents street still remains in really good condition. In the research I did, I actually found an article in 2020 where it talked about how that house was put on the market. Thankfully it didn't meet the fate of many of the other houses of its kind, and since then, the new owners have really fixed it up and made it look so much nicer, plus they added a pool. Thanks for this video! I never would have looked into the origin behind that house if this video hadn't peaked my interest. There are a lot of weird things and structures you see in Florida, I had no idea there was a story behind that one😂
Hey Josh!🛸🛸🛸These style and space age houses were really popular in the early 1970s in California and the Los Angeles area. A lot of these were in the Hollywood Hills and Palm Springs.🛸🛸🛸
I'm so glad you explored this place! I've been there when I visited a nearby resort a few years ago. Those structures that were in good condition has some people who were living in them when I visited. They probably relocated for some reason and now the place is completely abandoned for real. This place is really one of a kind and has a whole vibe when you are actually there in person. Keelung is a beautiful county in Taiwan too. 👌
I would LOVE to live in one of those ❤ my dream! Thank you for sharing such an amazing find!, your fan from the very beginning of your vids back in the day!
Josh!! I absolutely love your content! I really enjoy watching the videos you post. You seem to be the most genuine person on TH-cam and beyond. Thank you for always doing what you love and sharing with us. ❤❤
Going through the worst time ever right now and josh your my favourite TH-camr and these peaceful videos help so much , would love to see more behind the dark/haunted content soon keep doing you bro ❤
Wow those ufo homes are super cool! I would live in one of those for sure! Ocean side view is beautiful but I would worry about their storms though. Much love Josh ❤ great video!!!!
Also you definitely should have tried to talk to the owners of the sea foam one someone was living in! That would have been sick! Love these houses and your videos, glad the two finally collided. 💪🏽💪🏽 wish you would have talked to some of the locals on the street as well, I’m sure they could have gave you some really cool insight and maybe showed you there redone houses! Either way great video as usual, I’d love to come explore with you guys sometime. Your location never cease to amaze me! 🤯
I newer seen any of those square shaped models either before in closeup, Thank You for making those videos! I realy love them too, i realy hope they will be restored! That place truly looks awesome!
We don’t have many left stateside. There was one in Frisco nc that was turned into a roadside attraction but it “mysteriously” burnt down after a bunch of dispute with the town to have it shutdown 😢. I used to love going there when I was down that way though. 😞
Did i miss the part about the cult?seems like the round ones are holding up better than the pill shaped ones? But both designs were from the same set of years?
Those UFO houses are cool. when i was kid my family and i drove out to the Outer Banks (North Carolina) every summer, and every year we'd pass by a spot that had one of those sitting by the highway, we thought it was pretty awesome.
@22:07 thats not a cassette player, its called an 8-track tape player. They were bigger and came out 1964/65. which makes sense for the era of these homes. Cassettes tapes for boom boxes and walkman's came out '82 but there were still people that liked to collect and play 8 track tapes, much like vinyl collecters today prefer records over cds. Also thats not a fooseball table below the building, its a ping-pong table. Remember fooseball tables have a raised open box/container with metal rods through them that have the little football player paddles you use to move and shoot the ball around.
i used to want one of those UFO type houses, those and the related mid century future mod modular homes were all the rage in the 50s and like mid 60s. but they were a short-lived concept, though a few still exist here in the states, there is a couple i heard that are being lived in in the UK as well.
They were invented in Finland and sold world wide. There are only a certain amount of them and all of them are numbered, they are really expensive if you can get your hands on one of those.
Saw one of the UFO houses in the early seventies. It was parked in a shopping center parking lot somewhere in Wisconsin, USA. Got to tour it. Left an impression on me.
I just love love these homes I love anything that's house related another person I watch is chances mobile home tours another one is Matt's RV reviews 😁
I'm ngl I would 100% live in one of those "UFO houses." They're perfect for one or two people to live in. They're small, but spacious, and seem like they'd be really cozy especially in winter.
I stayed there one night around 1983 or 1985.... I remember my uncle said it costed two millions NTD to buy one at that time. That was AMAZING experience to stay there.
Very Cool! The fact that some rich person doesn't come and buy this up, renovate it and turn it into a beach resort blows my mind! 🤯
I read that they are very hard to maintain and not very comfortable to live in so...
@@pennylane8936just like my life so it's perfect

@e1e1g235 thank you for the insight!
Love how the venturo and futuro homes are both futuristic and retro at the same time. They’re such a vibe! I totally want one 😄 Another banger!
I expected to see George Jetson and Jane his wife 🎶.
Love spending Sundays with you, Josh. The photography is always amazing and I like your positive attitude and appreciation of all things.
For real, he’s just enjoying what he does without having to be “woke”

It tells you how hard it was to bare with his hunger
Josh and Steve❣️❣️❣️ glad to see you back together 🌹
its heartbreaking to see abandoned homes, because fixed up they could be a home for someone i need, if they could b e fixed up and affordable.
With so many homeless across the world, this is the perfect solution
Someone should buy this place and renovate these amazing pods .

Super cool stuff Josh thank you!!
Wow those ufo homes are super cool! I would live in one of those for sure! Ocean side view is beautiful but I would worry about their storms though. Much love Josh ❤ great video!!!!
Wild video!!!! The big building and those homes were probably destroyed by many typhoons. That's probably what caused all the damage.
There are a ton of these nearby Pensacola Beach where I spent my summers growing up!! So cool to finally get some inside info about what they are
my favorite urbex content creator💯
I get so happy when your video come out. They almost look like Disneys vision of houses a long ass time ago.
Loved this video I was just researching these the other day so strange you did a video there lol
Also you definitely should have tried to talk to the owners of the sea foam one someone was living in! That would have been sick! We don’t have many left stateside. There was one in Frisco nc that was turned into a roadside attraction but it “mysteriously” burnt down after a bunch of dispute with the town to have it shutdown 😢. I used to love going there when I was down that way though. 😞
Cool vid. Thank you.
Dang. These UFO homes are rad. I'd live in building like that.
85 degrees bakery is also here in Texas. In Houston, Dallas, Austin, and now in San Antonio. 🎉🎉🎉
For me... This is your coolest explore.
Did i miss the part about the cult?seems like the round ones are holding up better than the pill shaped ones? But both designs were from the same set of years?

I love this would to go and explore this way love to see the old buildings in the inside how they made them thank you. Do an awesome job.
Some of those houses remind me of the ones you can run through in Mass Effect 2. Very cool and beautiful.
Fascinating. Thank you.
There's a 85 degrees in SF and Las Vegas
yay new video !
wow josh super homes just love them . great video .
o WOW these are super cool! howmuch times of style and culture has changed !
Hi. I don’t think the 85° daily cafe in Taiwan is the same as 85° Bakery Cafe in CA
@22:07 thats not a cassette player, its called an 8-track tape player. They were bigger and came out 1964/65. which makes sense for the era of these homes. Wow Taiwan looks amazing!
some of these U F O houses and futuro's were used in scifi movies back in the 70's and 80's when they were making movies look futuristic.
Hello Josh .this was insane .👍
Hi Josh, did you know they are still making Venturo houses? They sort of remind me of the retro futuristic houses in Fallout.
Another spooky yet banger vid

Yes - furnishing them is a lot like furnishing a Yurt....my sister lived in one for years in CT.
14:35 That's a Sony Beta-Max video player. I actually still have one. I only have one movie for it, Purple Rain... RIP Prince...
I just love love these homes I love anything that's house related another person I watch is chances mobile home tours another one is Matt's RV reviews 😁
That’s interesting, you would think since it was prefabricated that this design would be able to be picked up by anyone who wanted a house like this …
can you imagine the capital if someone were to buy all of these up refurbish and modernize them and make them into luxurious air bnbs
I'm ngl I would 100% live in one of those "UFO houses." They're perfect for one or two people to live in. They're small, but spacious, and seem like they'd be really cozy especially in winter.
There's a huge one of those here in kalamazoo Michigan...
I stayed there one night around 1983 or 1985....
I remember my uncle said it costed two millions NTD to buy one at that time.
That was AMAZING experience to stay there.
There’s one in New Jersey. I just seen an article about it.
民雄鬼屋- Minxiong Haunted House
It's so beautiful
Come back to Taiwan
Great video! I'm from Taiwan!
I saw who lives in the states. If these built here; it would be a real hot spot tourist attraction.
wow! welcome to my home town
hope you have a very good time here
