X-men Legends 1 and 2 are a one-two punch of greatness!!! I still treasure them to this day!!! RoA also had Iron Man and Professor X as unlockable characters!!!!
The only thing that annoys me about x-men legends 2 is the fact that there isn’t more x-ladies such as psylocke, jubilee, Emma frost or magma since she was the vocal point of the last game. Also wish there were more brotherhood villains on all platforms like mystique, pyro, and blob.
I was at Capcom back in the 90's and worked on Children of the Atom. We took it to the AMOA shoe to debut it, I was busy polishing up the front marqui of the game when I heard this voice behind me say "Children of the Atom? Who came up with that?" As I turned around to tell him that was the original tagline for the X-men comic, and that I had suggested it, I found myself facing Stan Lee. I studered, stuck out my hand and said "Mr Lee it's a great honor to meet you." He smiled even wider and said "yeah, I bet it is." He asked me what I did, and how the characters looked great. He said the game looked like a lot of fun and then he talked to me about the early days of the X-men. Finally they came and got him ready for the press conference. The whole time he was up on stage talking I could only think of two things: I met Stan Lee, and he liked our game!!! 🤩
Working in the game industry is like being in the Mafia, you never really leave it! So yes I still keep my hand in it. After 30 years I still love it! Glad you liked the game, that dev team was one of the best. We made a lot of great games back then. Pax
@@drewfromyay882 Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter was great, but I slightly prefer the roster of X-Men vs Street Fighter. They were the two best Vs. games IMO. I know MvC 1, 2 and 3 get a lot of love, but I don't think they hold a candle to MSH vs SF and X-Men vs SF

On the sega genesis there was this Xmen game where just before the ending there was a sequence where professor X kept telling you to "Reset the console!!!" and I will never forget tapping the reset button in frustration and feeling like I had just discovered some insane secret trick by accident. May not be a favorite but I will never forget it.
I actually expected to see that game on this list. That part was insane. I literally called a damn game hotline to find out what I was supposed to do. This was years before I had to change the controller port against Psycho Mantis. One of the most meta experiences I’ve had playing a game.
XMen Legends 2 is absolutely the pinnacle of the franchise. It wasn't very well promoted in the UK at the time of release, but we lucked out and scored as HMV picked it up. A few months later we were able to pick it up for 5 to 10 pounds. Such a steal! Also, Dazzler isn't forgotten by anyone who read the original comics as she was such a mainstay in the 80s and early 90s with the Mojovision story lines.
My family lived X-Men Legends 1 but could never bother finishing XML2. It somehow felt like more of a slog and something about the darker or blurrier graphics made us decide it was annoying and headache causing. We made 2 serious attempt to finish it but abandoned it both times
I might be mis-remembering- I thought Xmen the official game (2006) with wolverine, nightcrawler and ice man was pretty good. Particularly the traversal with nightcrawler and iceman at the time
I miss the ultimate alliance series. They were fun af to play during my teenage years. There was a mmorpg called marvel something, very fun but disbanded later
Running around with Magneto in his giant cape stamping his authority on the battlefield pushing enemies away, creating metal bridges to cross and flying around in X-Men Lengends 2 was the most epic thing! Great memories!
I spent so much time and quarters playing X-Men The Arcade Game but X-Men Legends 1 is my favorite X-Men. Beating Master Mold was so hard but worth it in the end.
Loved playing X-Men Legends!! Currently playing through Marvel Ultimate Alliance for the first time. Called my team X-Force consisting of Wolverine, Deadpool, Spider-Man Symbiote, and Elektra. Probably should have picked Colossus, but oh well.
X-Men Legends 1 & 2 are still my #1 favorites from playing the X-Men video game series, I literally love and enjoyed playing as my favorite X-Men characters both good and evil as well as wearing the costumes for the characters you unlocked. Good times. Man I still remembered my twin brother and I are trying to beat the last levels and final bosses in those games, really need to beat the games.

The PSP version of X-Men Legends 2 had X-Force in it. The other versions of the game did not. Wolverine's Revenge was a very good game as well, to be able to use Logan's animal senses as a DareDevil type of radar.
X-Men Legends II def best choice at #1 slot. Clone Wars had amazing sound, music and art for what it was working with. Ppl need to play Wolverine Origins though, that is a shockingly good game from a terrible movie. Apparently the movie had dozens of delays for various reasons, so the developers had a completely unexpected wealth of time to work on it so polished the shit out of it, and it shows. Honestly the reason most games are bad is because they're rushed, and this is a shining example of what happens when coders get a lot of time to make something.
X-Men: Children Of The Atom came out in 1994, not 1995. Also, after X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and before Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash Of Super Heroes, there was Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter in 1997.
X-Men vs SF has a FAT Special place in my heart. I remember it when my old barber shop just got it in their small arcade area and i was just blown away, First time even knowing what X-Men and Street Fighter is. The art style, the music, the fast pace tag team gameplay. It was just fucking magic. Sad we can't get these types of games anymore. Man i do miss the 90s...
X-Men: Destiny doesn't really count, it had a lot of really strong concepts, but they were half-assed and mostly disappointing. Still, there is enough potential there that it holds a special place for me.

I really enjoyed X-men Destiny. Getting to choose actions that affected the games outcome, and feeling like an Omega level mutant at the end was satisfying.
My favorite was "Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems" and it had one of the X-MEN in it. Wolverine. Its was X-MEN: MUTANT APOCALYPSE but with Wolverine, Spider-Man, Ironman, Captain America and Hulk.
NightCrawler In X-Men legends still til this day holds the coolest way to play a Top down like that---He could Teleport through the walls and it made his gameplay so damn Unique
*X-Men Legend & X-Men Legend 2: Apocalypse, X-Men 2: Clone Wars, X-Men: Mutant Academy 2, X-Men: Children of the Atom, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men vs Street Fighter* are all My Favorite X-Men Video Games from my Childhood Years. I Absolutely have fun playing these with my friends, siblings and cousins. They're all so Super Nostalgic and Memorable.
I always thought X-men would make a great MMO video game. You create your character with certain mutant abilities and looks. You start the game as a graduate from Professor X's school. All the main character Xmen are your NPC's that you get quests from and you begin your adventure into the world with other players as the events of the series unfold around you.
City of heroes did a fantastic job of that…. I played it for years. They got sued by marvel for having too similar available power sets and costume possibilities. You could effectively make any character. They had tons and tons of pkaystyles and old school comics animation style look. They even made a comic book and a couple novels for the game
@@timboslice980 I actually looked into City of Heroes not long ago. After they shut down the official servers I guess a bunch of the fans got together and made a privater server for it and kept it going. I don't know if it's still active or not but if it is I may give it a try.
The first video that puts XML2 above XML. Finally! X-Men Legends 2 is GOATED. I wish the MUA games would go back to that formula, but I understand why they don’t. Fantastic series. Sad we haven’t seen a proper x men game since 2011.
We need the return of games like x-men legends and marvel ultimate alliance for superhero games. Best way to put in a giant roster and don't need to overthink with gameplay styles. Easy and effective.
I think with the release of X-Men 97 should definitely get either an arcade brawler or fighting game 90s style I can't imagine there being anyone here who wouldn't buy that
X2 Wolverine’s Revenge deserved a mention here. I found it more enjoyable then Origins tbh. The fighting was solid, the stealth aspects added a lot and the story was great. Plus you had Mark frickin Hamill voicing Wolverine 👌

Clone Wars and Legends are still THE greatest of them all. I have Legends and Legends 2 to this day and still play it every now and then

X men legends 2 is one of the greatest xmen games I’ve ever played. I spent countless nights the summer I got it as a kid playing until like 2 am 😂
If anything this list just goes to show you that the X-Men as a franchise have been woefully underused in gaming.
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse for the SNES is one of favorite game as far as X-Men goes. Best character design is great and the powers are awesome.

NightCrawler In X-Men legends still til this day holds the coolest way to play a Top down like that---He could Teleport through the walls and it made his gameplay so damn Unique

I think the Deadpool game deserved more love compared to the earlier entries in the list.
I had a soft spot for X2: Wolverines Revenge growing up.
The team behind Marvels Guardians would be a fantastic pairing with the X-Men IP
*X-Men Legend & X-Men Legend 2: Apocalypse, X-Men 2: Clone Wars, X-Men: Mutant Academy 2, X-Men: Children of the Atom, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men vs Street Fighter* are all My Favorite X-Men Video Games from my Childhood Years. I Absolutely have fun playing these with my friends, siblings and cousins. They're all so Super Nostalgic and Memorable.

Konami's 1992 beat em up is the one I have the most nostalgia for.
I always thought X-men would make a great MMO video game. You create your character with certain mutant abilities and looks. You start the game as a graduate from Professor X's school. All the main character Xmen are your NPC's that you get quests from and you begin your adventure into the world with other players as the events of the series unfold around you.
City of heroes did a fantastic job of that…. I played it for years. They got sued by marvel for having too similar available power sets and costume possibilities. You could effectively make any character. They had tons and tons of pkaystyles and old school comics animation style look. They even made a comic book and a couple novels for the game
@@timboslice980 I actually looked into City of Heroes not long ago. After they shut down the official servers I guess a bunch of the fans got together and made a privater server for it and kept it going. I don't know if it's still active or not but if it is I may give it a try.

The first video that puts XML2 above XML. Finally! X-Men Legends 2 is GOATED. I wish the MUA games would go back to that formula, but I understand why they don’t. Fantastic series. Sad we haven’t seen a proper x men game since 2011.
We need the return of games like x-men legends and marvel ultimate alliance for superhero games. Best way to put in a giant roster and don't need to overthink with gameplay styles. Easy and effective.
I think with the release of X-Men 97 should definitely get either an arcade brawler or fighting game 90s style I can't imagine there being anyone here who wouldn't buy that
X2 Wolverine’s Revenge deserved a mention here. I found it more enjoyable then Origins tbh. The fighting was solid, the stealth aspects added a lot and the story was great. Plus you had Mark frickin Hamill voicing Wolverine 👌
