Some people are really hypocrites. They say "Everyone is free to wear whatever they want" but once they see a girl wearing hijab they start calling her names and do everything to make her feel uncomfortable.
Life is surely beautiful but those people are making it hard to live.

You have to look at it this way. It's not normal to them, and it's viewed badly mainly because of stereotypes and what the media shows. Most East Asians associates Hijab with Muslims, and Muslims are associates with terrorism. Even the Chinese doesn't bode well with their Muslim citizens living at western and north-western China.
It's not like South East Asia where being a Muslim or wearing hijab is seen as something normal and part of their culture.

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time.
Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them).
Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy.
Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).
Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.
Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement.
It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them.
(19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad)..

by the way I think it was mentioned in the Bible that a 12 year old girl (I think it was Mary? Correct me if I'm wrong) married a 90 year old man.
" This is clinically and psychologically considered PEDOPHILIA in most civilised countries today."
So Japan is not civilised for allowing marriage for at least a 13 year old person (because y'know, that is still a young age).
"as most of his actions are criminal and mentally unstable in our laws."
sure, being called "Sadiq" (Truthful) and "Amin" (Trustworthy) even by his enemies makes him a criminal. Bleh.
"please don't talk like I don't know nothing about Islam, when I know a lot about Islam."
that's like every Islamic hater's claim. Sorry, but no. Your knowledge about Islam is pretty much on the level of ISIS's knowledge.

At the age of 7 years old i envied those who wear hijab and abaya. So i was very happy when my parents bought me one. I was so excited to try it on because i think it's beautiful. It's sad that some people grew up being racist. No one was born racist. The media and the stereotype is at fault. I really wish that people would stop judging muslims as if they are different from others. They are amazing people.

Although since thousands years ago our history have been related to China/Japan , we are still not that close friend honestly. In this situation, do you really want us to understand Muslims? oh common, that is too hard to do that. That religion and culture is so far removed from us. don't be silly.

But not because someone says they are muslim u beleive them. Wearing the hijab or the burka doesn't always mean that they are muslims. In fact wearing the burka isn't a part of being a muslim and i'm afraid of them in fact. You don't know if it's a guy or a girl underneath XD Anyways islam is more of a spiritual thing u have to do all of the rules to become a true muslim. U can't be like hey i'm muslim and that's it. So yeah hope u understand.

I’m a Malaysian Muslim. I went to Seoul for the first time few months ago with my friends and truthfully what she said is the reality. In Kdrama, Koreans are portrayed as friendly, graceful, well-behaved, and has good manners. But we experienced it totally differently.
We had hard times carrying our luggage because there’s no escalator in their subways. Sometimes, we lost our ways to get to the correct destination. When we sought for help, the youngsters and ahjumma usually gave us cold looks or they didn’t care to help at all. What surprises me is that, it was the male elders that treated us so well, and was very nice and friendly. I tell you Korean ahjusshi is the best. When we all girls were so exhausted carrying heavy luggage down the stairs, one ahjusshi help us without a word. We were so grateful and touched. We also gotten help form other foreigners. It was a white couple, the boyfriend helped to carry our luggage when we were on our way to the airport. How lucky she is to get a good man like that.
It’s so ironic for me and totally change my perception towards Korean ever since. I love the country because of the beautiful and breath-taking places and the good foods. But sincerely, not the people. Interestingly, it also gave the perception that Korean guys are just good in the dramaland lol sorry. In reality, they are not as gentleman, courteous and nice at all as portrayed in the drama over the years. But that doesn’t change the fact that I still love South Korea. I will still go there because the country is clean and I love the weather!
It's about time for Korean to open their mind. Discrimination is not cool man. Compared to my experience in Korea, I had a really good time Indonesia and Thailand. What I can say is guys of South East Asia will always be the good gentleman. Not only the guys, usually the people will always went all the way to help you out and very friendly.

Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement.
It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them.

The Muslims that do not want Sharia laws are welcome... Sharia laws allow to kill gays, subject women to modest dress, stone people to death, cut off hands and punish non Muslims. Wake up. This video tugs at the heart and she does not deserve it. But this opens the conversation to Muslim settlements into non Muslim countries. And all evidence shows too many of them in one place causes an uprise of demands AGAINST the existing culture.

But I know that when I get the chance to visit South Korea I will forget the bad and cherish the good. I live in England and have experienced racism but instead of retaliating with hate it's better to retaliate with love. That's my philosophy and understanding from Islam. And to all the wonderful people out there if you have a question about Islam please don't be afraid to ask me or any other Muslim. We will try our best to answer all questions.

She's a tough, intelligent and strong woman. I watched her on another show detailing her day to day life. I'm an Australian from Sydney, one of the most diversed cities in the world. I live in a Sydney area where the largest Korean community is. I'm sorry but I have to say Korean is one of the most racist, judgmental, rude and discriminative people I know. Regardless of the age, you'll see Korean will always hang out in their Korean group. They don't really assimilate. It's not uncommon to see Koreans that have migrated to Australia for decades can't even speak English properly. Of course this isn't for all. In fact one of my best friends is Korean and those Koreans who hang out with non Koreans are some of the loveliest & most open-minded people. They also admitted the things I said and recognised it's one of the biggest problems with Korean and their mindset. That's the reason why they make the changes and hang out with non Koreans. I really hope that one day we can all treat all human equally!

BUT when women decide to cover their hair and dress modest they are being called out. Why won't people just stay out of each other's business and choices? This makes me so angry. It's like a double standard amongst females only. It's 2016, let people be! If it doesn't bother you in any way, why even bother judging them??

That's what I'm talking about. What if the same models or the kardashians wore hijabs and long clothing. It would be a totally different thing. And I know a lot of people including myself who get cat-called even though we wore casual clothes.

I'm a Malaysian, I'm a Hijab wearer and I can feel her concern. I'm lucky that even though my country is multi-racial, we respect, help each other in need and live in harmony. But I have a few foreign friends and I often meet new foreigners during my degree years in the university. I often get questions like "Why do you wear Hijab?" "Do you shower in that?", "Do your parents, like, force you to wear that thing?", "Can you hear well while wearing that?". Some of the questions I get are lighthearted and genuinely curious and seek to educate themselves on a topic they don't know about, and I don't mind those, but what irks me is the ignorant questions that people love to ask like "Are you bald?" No.... I'm not bald. Stop asking. And you can't see my hair either. Stay in your lane, fam. I think the problem is that people really don't understand why many Muslims wear the hijab. The hijab is a choice, and definitely not forced on women. I have so many Muslim girl friends that don't wear a hijab. So what? I'm not oppressed, contrary to popular belief. I wear my hijab as a marker of my faith and I wear it proudly. Some of my friends are being scolded multiple times on the street when travelling abroad just because they were wearing their hijab saying that "Why you're here? Just go back to your country. We don't need you here!". It was traumatic indeed. But we never scolded them for wearing bikinis at our beach even though Islam is the official religion here in Malaysia. It's ironic why is it that Christian nuns are seen as devoted while Muslim hijabis are seen as oppressed and in need of savior? Okay, I'm done ranting. Btw, there are also nice people who smiles and greet when they see me on the street and said that my hijab is beautiful and they like it etc. There are good people and also the bad one. I just wanna convey that sometimes what you see/watch in the tv about islam/hijab is not everything. Do your research first before making any assumptions. As the saying goes "Don't judge a book by its cover" so don't judge people on what they wear as well.

iylia syazwanie hijab is a choice but it is wajib. Protecting your relationship with Allah is important. But then again no one is force cause in the end of the day everything is about your own choices and how you want to live cause it is your life. We have the right to remind others about all these things but do it in the right way. Forcing is not one of it cause it actually makes us reluctant from doing it. I'm glad I'm born in Malaysia tbh cause our people are very active in dakwah within the muslim community in school, uni level, tv, mosque etc.
I just hope that the muslims who are being discriminated and have their lives in stake stay strong. When I heard that a muslim woman in America decided to not wear hijab when she voted for the election because she is scared just broke my heart like this woman case in Korea.

Just saw this comment and made me recalling my experiences there. I went earlier this year. Im a muslim and southeast asian(i once read that some koreans have this negative perceptions abt southeast asian people) me and my mother also wear hijab. I would say my trip went really well and people were really nice to me, they gave me compliments and smile at me when i spoke korean to them eventho i only knew some basic conversations. There was this auntie who help me choose warmer jacket and an uncle who has this street vendor and he is really kind when we ate at his vendor he gave me more food as we ate and he said we didn't have to pay it, also a realli nice girl and her parents who took pictures for us and welcoming us with a really big smile.
But then i also remember on my way back to our hotel from Nami on a train it was very crowded and so we had to stand. And then suddenly an uncle came to us and shouted at two girls who where sitting in front of me and my father to gave up their seats for my father. They literally fighting and everyone on the train seemed dont care at all as nobody tried to separate the uncle and those two girls.
I read that people (esp foreigner) have bad experiences visiting South Korea but also there are people who had a great time there. I think its only a matter of time until south korea become more open to other cultures and people as well

True, but most of the time, that's just peasants. It's traditional korean headdress. The reason why those rude Koreans think they can do that is because they either forget about the past, since it's too harsh, or just believe that wearing traditional headdresses is only for elders. As a Korean myself, those people are what we call simpletons. I got derided once for the look of my nose! I had a feeling Koreans were not as nice as how Koreaboos view them. Most women other than peasants just tie their hair into a bun. No pun intended. Now if you were a queen, that's a different story.

I went Korea last year in summer. Because I watched this video I was really worried that I would be discriminated and feel sad during my travel. But thanks to Allah, even when I'm walking on the street with my sister (we both wear hijab) many people said that "You're so beautiful, really! Where are you came from?" It made me really happy. But ofcourse I can't say every Koreans are so friendly and open mind to Muslims, maybe I couldn't see people who saw as in a bad way. But the most Korean people that we met were really friendly. Especially when they learn I'm from Turkey they acted in more friendly way and they talked about how our contries are brothers ^^ Especially korean uncles and aunties were really friendly to us they always called us "beautiful" with our hijabs. Even though Amber from f(x)! We met her in Dudart cafe in Apgujeong she was really impressed that and said "beautiful" to us many times, also Chanyeol's and Wonho's mothers^^

i grew up in a muslim country but never had i been discriminated by them. I feel really sad everytime i see muslim being called terrorist. here in the country i grew up in, it feels really safe. everyone treats each other fairly, religion didnt stop them from being good friends, some even could be as close as family. my friends are ofcourse mostly muslim but they treat me just as how they treat their muslim friends. i got curious about islam and i took abit of knowledge of it, the quran is a message from their god ( the message in it didnt have anything to do with killing or destroying other religion instead it says to treat people fairly eventho they are not islam (sorry if i made a mistake) ). THEY ARE NOT TERRORIST! THEY ARE ALSO HUMAN! THEY HAVE FEELINGS TOO! HOW COULD A HUMAN BE SO CRUEL! EVENTHO YOU HATE THEM THERES NO NEED TO HARM THEM! YOU HARM THEM THEN YOU'RE NO DIFFERENT AS WHAT YOU CALL THEM! they dont deserve to be treated like this. the people around me are mostly muslim but i feel so secure around them, no need to hide my religion cause they respect it but why does other people other than muslin dont respect islam?? thats the question ive always kept in mind. they didnt do any harm as how israel in now doing to palestine and others. Koreans in Seoul are arrogant & rude mostly peoples aged 40's above.. I visit South Korea for holiday with my family.. I visit Seoul, Busan & Jeju Island.. In my opinion, peoples who lived far from Seoul are kindness (Not saying all Seoul people are racist & rude). In Busan, during arrival with KTX from Seoul (Yeah! it was Train to Busan minus The Zombies).. elderly, i think in group age 60's to 70's was very kind & helpful, some elderly say about the luggage beg (mention its heavy) & some trying to help me carry the beg.. It was great when, elderly in Busan try to start conversation with stranger even they not fluent in English.. In Jeju Island, peoples are more tourist oriented, they say hi when you walk pass them, the youngster fluent in English even help me & family to get used to Jeju Island roads & tourist destination.. My holiday trip to South Korea are worth in Jeju Island as we rent a car & tour Jeju Island for 3 day.. But not in Seoul, we commute to every tourist attraction with subway train.. Youngster (Boys & Girls) could not care less as they see people (foreigner) everyday, the middle age men always doing their own business.. But i really hate this group.. The group called Ahjumma ( middle age women that you can refer as auntie), always stare, stare, stare at us like we a group of aliens.. Some even did not permit my mom & aunt to sit near them in train.. "There is someone sitting here" an Ahjumma say to my mom & aunt while pointing to empty space fit for two person.. I think that Ahjumma had imaginary friends as the empty seat for two was not occupied for near 30 minutes before that Ahjumma exit the train.. that was Lil bit my story of how Koreans treat foreigner especially Muslim in Korea.. Far from what i see in dramas, variety show in Korea, when they are modest & helpful.. :(

I'm not a Muslim but I can tell you this, Islam is a beautiful religion that tells us to respect everyone and teaches us to be accepting. It's a pity that the western media portrays it as violent since those who read the Quran will realises that it teaches people AGAINST violence. Don't listen to the opinion of others and instead formulate an opinion on the religion after educating yourself about their beliefs. I guarantee that if you do this, you too will see the beauty in this religion. Love everyone and hate no one since life is too short to foster hate.

Love how the counselors are so shocked by her stories. As if they've never been discriminating themselves, or had discriminating thoughts towards foreigners. K-Pop and K-Dramas have helped open up international perspective, but there's still a lot of older people who have a Korean pure-bred, closed corners mind. It'll probably take a few generations before they stop being jerks.

Look closely at Islam before you accept Muslims. .. Islam wants to rule the world. ..South Korea will be taken advantage of. Don't let them do it. It is sad for the good Muslims to be shut out but the full culture is called Islam, it is unforgiving and will never assimilate.
Yes there are a lot of good Muslims, no they will not assimilate. Better to set your standards now.

Go to Korea anyway. Koreans who live in Korea need more exposure to foreigners for them to not be treated like aliens. Be the positive change!!! To be honest, lots of it is fear of the unknown, whether you are kind and polite or nasty, as a foreigner, you represent your whole country and sometimes even your whole region. If they can make you as that one friend who changes their mind, they will often tell others, "I made a friend from X country and they are very polite and kind and I realised foreigners can be good people" I know that may sound like a really weird concept if you grew up in a multicultural city or country but "I realised foreigners can be good people" is actually a huge compliment and big change. Be that for the people around you :) Be the positive change, the positive role model, lead international/global friendship.

I'm from germany and I'm studying educational sciences and one day I was waiting in front of the office of one of my professors (for office hour) and there were two other young women with me. We started talking and somehow got to talk about what jobs we do beside university and stuff and one of them told me how much she is being discriminated because of her wearing a Hijab. She told me stories about how people thought she was too dumb to be a cashier and went to another register and stuff like that, even in Uni it seems to someties occur that they are being treated differently. Well we were talking quite a bit and in the end she told me "I wish more people were like you, my Hijab doesn't make a difference for you." And I was like "Well yeah, it doesn't make a difference!" And she said "The world would be a better place if more people were like you" And that kinda left me speechless, because I never thought if myself of being somehow "special" or more open minded than others. And to hear that the problem is not just in my country upsetes me even more. We are humans, we share the earth, and everyone is equal to the other.

A hijabi women like me sometimes felt it's not safe for us to go to your country, I mean.. Western people.. They hate us.. They hate my religion.. Sometimes when people do a wrong thing don't look to their religion, it's they own fault, they human they made mistakes, in my country there's Chinese, Indian, borneo, orang asli.. But still we respect each other as a human being.. And Islam means 'peace' so it's weird how people defines us as a terrorist, bcoz it's not us and Islam don't teach us to be terrorist.. Islam teach us to be respectful, gentle and loving to other human despite whatever their skin colour race or religion.. But here I wanna thank you, to be different, to understand us, and to looks to us equal as you, = human. Just human.

@@misesz3381 I'm really sorry that you feel that way, but I do understand where that feeling comes from. The biggest problem is, that we don't learn enough about other religions and how they "work" and people start spreading wrong facts and people start believing these instead of actually gather information and real facts about it. I, for myself, don't really know anything, but I have formed great friendsips with exchange students from turkey and india and when I ask something, they explain it. I am really greatful for that.
I'll also have you know that my generation (I'm in my 20's now) and the ones younger than me are a lot more tolerant than the older ones. We are fighting for a society with more acceptance and tolerance. Fighting for a society where people are treated equally because we all are human, just like you said.

Seriously stop judging Islam and whatever we want to wear.
It's a free world, clothes do not reflect who we are and what we are inside. What we truly are, is what we convey, what we wish to be, and what we did. We have every right to wear whatever we deem fit. Others do not have the right to insult, to judge, just because we believe in ANY religion and decided to apply the practise. It doesn't kill others, nor should it bother, so why the fuss? Just keep calm and cool. There are civil punishments who had truly done wrong and from what I know, wearing hijab does not call for any punishment, much less criticism.

I am Christian and I was born in a predominantly Muslim country (Indonesia) and I respect those whose religions are different from mine. in all countries there are definitely bad and good depending on what people respond to. Racism knows no country, racism occurs because of the environment or because of someone's behavior, and as long as I'm watching this I'm sad because people do racism without them knowing it, even if they do they still do it like it's normal
